About

The Albemarle Sound is the largest fresh water sound in North America, offering great year-round boating. No salt - No barnacles - No tide . . . and here in Edenton Marina, you will find everything you need for comfortable anchorage. Sail the Sound, cruise the intercoastal waterway, drop anchor at nearby towns or enjoy water skiing on glassy water.

Fishing is excellent in the Albemarle . . . or if it's marlin you're after then cruise east through the Oregon Inlet to the nearby Atlantic and the Gulf Stream. Edenton Marina offers easy access to all the pleasures this area offers.

Historic downtown Edenton is just a two minute hop away. But be careful ... this quaint charming town will steal your heart!!

If you want to be away from "downtown", and not stay at Edenton Town Docks, this is a nice quiet place. It's a fairly short, easy walk to historic downtown Edenton. The bathrooms were nice and clean, which was a good thing, since our holding tank was FULL!! We called ahead to check on pump out capability and found out that the marina's pump out was down. However, we were told that we could pump out at the Edenton Town Dock, which is right on the way to Edenton Marina. But when we arrived at Edenton Town Docks, we discovered that the town dock pump out was also out of service. There is a fuel dock at the Edenton Marina, but since I never actually saw any marina personnel, I'm not sure if I could've fueled up. The only contact I had with marina personnel was via phone in advance of our arrival. (Made reservations via Dockwa.) To be fair, I never called the marina number for anything else, after I got my slip number and pump out info. The restaurant at the marina, The Oyster Bar, was not open during our stay, and I assume it was because of COVID. I've heard it is a good place to eat, but can't give an opinion on that. So overall, this is a nice quiet spot to tie up and spend a little time. But if you need anything, any kind of service, deck hands, etc., that was non-existent while we were there. The only real activity we saw was at the boat ramp, with a few boats coming and going. We spent two nights, Saturday and Sunday.
