Best restaurant on the ICW. Great local seafood with a low country flair. Great place to stop if you can find room at the bulkhead.
There is a reason Lewis and his team have so many repeat guests is because of the service and the atmosphere. As a superyacht, we don’t need to stop…but we go out of our way to hit Coinjock every trip. It’s like stopping in to see family every trip north or south.
Knowledgeable staff, good restaurant onsite, reasonably priced…though electric seemed a bit high.
In their store you can buy a number of things, including a t-shirt that asks 'where in the hell is coinjock? Well, if you are going south on the ICW and don't do the dismal swamp route, you are likely to break your run at Coinjock. It has a rustic little restaurant that specializes in prime rib of beef but does other stuff as well. If you intend to eath the prime rib, be sure to reserve yours ahead of time, because they do run out. The marina has one very long dock that is easy to get at. One might be concerned about being exposed to wakes of passing boats, but it is in a 'no wake' zone and people generally observe that when going by. Fuel and pumpout are available just about everywhere along that dock, and the hands are friendly and helpful.
Great stop on the ICW. Beautiful new store and harbor masters office.
Always very professional crew on the docks. We fueled, took on water, did laundry, and had a great dinner. We’ll be back.
Easy docking with good dock hands. Very friendly staff. Nice live music on the patio. Dinner and drinks were fantastic. Shop had lots of t-shirts, boating supplies and groceries.
Very helpful dock and store staff. Restaurant fare was delish. A little understaffed at bar but it wasn't a big issue. Everybody very pleasant.
Wonderful stop! Dock hands are very helpful and professional. Sat at the bar for a delicious dinner and some drinks. Great service!
I am sure I would only be repeating what others have said, so just come to Coinjock if you are anywhere in a 100 mile radius. Great staff, facilities and a great ships store.
Another great overnight at Coinjock Marina. They have world class dockhands who make arrival and departure easy. New marina store is well stocked. Simply a must stop marina for north/south travel.
Always a pleasure to stop at Coinjock. We came in late one evening and they squeezed us in on the west side which isn’t ideal for accessing anything except power. However, they gave us a discount and were more than pleasant. TY for getting us in!
It’s been a few years since here last. God Bless Norm and kudos to Lou for all of the marina/restaurant improvements. Norm might be complaining about the money spent but he can be proud of his sons many accomplishments! Bravo Zulu! Job well done!
staff was great and accommodating for the number of boats that there because of the weather
As always a good stop. Great prime rib. Lovely new dock house with lots of goodies!
Nice people. Even delivered Prime Rib across the ICW to us. Definitely stopping again in November
Had to stay on west dock at other marina that coinjock now owns. They were short handed so we had to dock ourselves. Luckily another boat crew was able to assist. Also no way to get over to restaurant. Coinjock marina needs to really determine how they are going to utilize that other marina, if it’s going to be full service or just an afterthought
Great people, place. Feels like home. Very nice new boat store just opened
No wifi but good restaurant! Try their canned products like salsa, hit sauce and jams at their store.
Great night, wonderful help with lines. beautiful new office and shop. Clean bathrooms and showers. Fantastic prime rib dinner!
Obviously a very convenient place to stop. Food was great. Docks are in great shape. Only one potty though.
Our favorite spot to stop on the ICW for food and fuel ! If you are a boater you know Coinjock!
Great stop right on intracoastal easy in and fuel and Prime Rib
Great overnight stop. Stocked store, friendly staff. Good restaurant/bar. Dockhand JD was awesome! Fuel, water, and pump out available
Docks are new and solid. The store has a decent selection. The restuarant was very good with friendly servers. The bathrooms were very clean and updated. The showers were large, had warm water, and good pressure. My only critique would be to put a hook or two inside the shower curtain, so people aren't walking around in the buff when people from the rest come in to use the restroom. Update: They installed a door between the restaurant bathrooms and boaters showers! Rest of review stands. 5 stars. Neat place to stay.
Easy in and out. Dock hands were great and the restaurant never disappoints. Dog friendly 🐕
Easy in and out ..lots of helpful dockhands always a fun place to stop
It’s always nice to make this stop, the marina crew are friendly and helpful. Nice dinner at the restaurant and an opportunity to meet fellow boaters running the ‘ditch’ and learn of their travels. Pretty good ship store as well.
Great dock staff and even better restaurant. Ribeye and drinks were great. Haley best waitress ever
Great place - Lee was great and the dinner was fantastic. Got to have the Prime Rib! One of the best I’ve ever had.
Friendly, helpful staff, handy dog walking areas, and the restaurant was terrific, from food to vibe to our fantastic bartender, Malory. We will be back!
Good facility, good ship’s store, fun restaurant/dock bar and really nice people.
Very simple and very easy with a great friendly staff! Wonderful prime rib restauran right at the dock! Well stocked marina store.
Nice place to stop along the ICW. Easy docking and helpful dockmaster. Food in the restaurant was good. Clean facilities and laundry room.
Easy stop. Competent dock hands and a good restaurant make for a great experience.
Great staff. Great store. Easy in and out. Prime Rib-delicious!
We love staying at Coinjock! The service is excellent and it's easy to dock. Also concur that the internet its not very strong but being aware of this we had a peaceful wireless free evening! Thank you!
This marina has efficiency and customer service down to an artform! They catch lines, fill you up and have the best food around. They also have a nice gift shop and the staff even went to find me a tiny screwdriver to fix my glasses which I would have been worthless without (and we have a long trip ahead of us as we are delivering this boat to Erie PA from Tampa!). We ALWAYS try to stay here!
Very nice stay. My only problem was no internet by the yellow house. Restaurant had good food and the server was very nice.
Always a pleasure stopping here. Food is great. Marina guys are very helpful. Perfect quick overnight stop n go marina.
Best Stop on the Intercostal! Great Marina, Staff, Market with Some Boat Products etc. Great Restaurant with Great energy. Looking forward to my next visit.
The classic ICW stop but he Prime rib was definitely not the best I ever had, almost sub par IMO. Convenient YES, interesting/historic, worth a stop YES, but other boaters who ranted and raved about how great the Prime Rib was going to be over-hyped it IMO. Maybe they just had some bad cuts of meat that week, tough, fibrous, lot to trim off and throw away. Sides were good and I'm glad we did it! Saw some amazing boats too...will probably stop and try again.
Great staff, good stop over. You really have to experience Coinjock Marina. Its a oasis with music, restaurant, fuel and a huge ebb and flow of boats going North and South.
May 20, 2021: Everything was terrific. Crew that came to grab and tie our lines-great job. Dinner at the restaurant was very good. Nov 20, 2020: stayed overnight at Coinjock and everything was good. Help on tying up was terrific, considering how quickly boats were coming. Ordered take-out dinner and it was delicious. All the staff were great. July 17, 2019: The staff are always terrific. The marina is neat and clean. General store within the main office is handy for picking up supplies. I know everyone raves about the restaurant, but I’m not impressed. Ordered a filet mignon, cooked medium. What I received was not a filet mignon and was over cooked. Again, the staff is wonderful, but food was average. 15 Dec 2018 - came by Coinjock again going South. Again, great staff who have the whole docking/fuel/pump out down to a science. Tried the restaurant again, my dinner was delicious - had a glazed salmon with soup and salad.
Always a great place to stay for the nite. Definitely order the prime rib - best evah!!!
There are 2 sides to Coinjock Marina. Be selective when you choose if you want to dine at the Marina Restaurant. They are not operating a water taxi, and we didn't want to swim to dinner in the brown cold water. Instead we walked to town 1.3 miles each way. Both gas stations sell food. We highly recommend you try "Cindy's" deli selection being it's all homemade. The 12 layer chocolate cake looked dreamy. We bought her egg salad, chicken salad & pimiento spread which were excellent. Do not stop at the Currituck BBQ, because we spent $28. on a pound of the worse, dry and tasteless pulled brisket & pork. Plus indigestion! They were sold out of their ribs. Perhaps the whole chicken is better, not sure! Nice walk through countryside mobile homes, past the P.O., the Veterans Building, turkeys, roosters & yes even billy goats. Stretch your legs while you can, but be back by dark being you are walking along the street.
They were super busy when we arrived with 5 boats but they took care of us immediately and took care of all of our needs.
Our stay was as superb as the Prime Rib we had for dinner. It was as superb as the customer service that Louis provides. Always a favorite stop
Very professional staff and a friendly place. Great place to stop after crossing the Albemarle. I would skip the prime rib, though. It's not good. Other than that, loved the place.
Very friendly and accommodating crew at both the marina and the restaurant. If this is your first time visiting, it is best to make a reservation as they don’t have a lot of dock space and the restaurant is happy to prepare your order for you if you call ahead, they will have it waiting for you.
The marina staff made quick work of getting us tied up and settled with water and electric. They are like a well oiled machine and very hospitable. Of course, dinner outside at their restaurant did not disappoint. Great food and great service.
Had help from very welcoming dock hands when we arrived. Power worked great. WiFi was only fair. Couldn’t get a reservation in the restaurant. We would stay again.
“GiLLi GirL” was treated real well, can’t say enough about the guys that run the dock *special people*
The most professional dock crew ! Place is clean , everything works . Cant wait to see you soon !
The dock master & staff couldn’t have been more helpful or pleasant! Also the 32 oz prime rib is fabulous- 3 of us shared it & not a speck was left
A good stop over but nothing special. Deck hands were very good. Not Covid Safe. No one wearing masks!!!
Great service at marina and restaurant! They even delivered dinner to the boat!!
Very friendly dock staff. Good dock. Amenities could use a bit of improvement. Bath/shower facilities are somehow shared with restaurant staff with a connecting door to the kitchen. Privacy is a definite concern.
The best dock hands on the east coast. Always hospitable and helpful. Even if I have to make it a short day going through I make it a point to stop at Coinjock.
Dock crew was wonderful, helpful and kind. Had dinner at the onsite restaurant known for their prime rib, did not disappoint! Service was exceptional! Can't wait to come back thru in the summer.
One night stop over heading south. Good advice when we contacted them to mind the current, and suggesting we come about and dock starboard side too. Worked out well and as usual, proficient dockhands ready to take the lines. Food at the restaurant was excellent.
Stayed one night on this quiet canal. The Coinjock Marina restaurant had really good food. Crab cake sandwiches, fish and chips, etc. The marina staff were very helpful. We didn't get fuel, but I could see that it was easy to access along the dock. It's a very popular location for overnight guests, as well as boaters who just stop in for a meal.
Good. Everyone friendly. Masks in place by restaurant workers and the local community when entering
There aren’t enough stars to rate this place. Staff is fantastic, food was phenomenal and being greeted by their dock dog was the cherry on top!
People were so nice. All the provisions you need. Restaurant prime rib & crab cakes were excellent.
Always friendly and easy to dock. Right on ICW. Restaurant serving take out. Had a great fish dinner on the boat. A must stop on ICW.
Its the only place to hide unless you are doing 60 mile days and have a big weather window. My wife and I had the Prime Rib and it was not very good. Tough and extremely fatty. I will blame it on the surrounding world conditions as we are often told how good it is.
With covid-19 going on not much to say other than a great place to dock for the night and great prime rib take out
Our stay was terrific. The staff are very wonderful and courteous. We will certainly return! Thank you!
Every thing was as good as to be expected in this time of social distancing. I’d recommend some sanitizer for n the bathroom.
Did an awesome job! Tied up the boat, connected the electricity, offered boat side delivery of things from their store or restaurant- did not have to leave the boat or worry about social distancing. Very pleasant stay.
Coinjock was a great place to stay in spite of the restrictions on restaurant services due to the coronavirus. Everyone on the staff made the best of it and provided great service. A great place to stop!
Would like to come back and stay again. Unfortunately we were to exhausted to try out the restaurant. Good docks and friendly!
We stayed here bringing a 40’ IP down the ditch and they were more than accommodating. One of the most social marina bars on the East Coast!
If I could give a higher rating, I would. Louis is a very honorable man who took care of an issue for us without question. We had a problem when docking and Louis made sure that it was solved and corrected. We truly appreciate a marina that puts the client first and makes them feel like family. We highly recommend this marina (and, of course, the famous prime ribs at the restaurant as well).
Excellent as usual. Very helpful dock staff, and of course the prime rib in the restaurant is a treat.
Don’t dock at this place at all. They refuse boats unless your a big Yacht. All this place wants is money. They turned away boats but when a yacht calls in they tell them yea u can dock here cause all this place cares about us money not the people or safety. So I would bypass this place and not even stop. They only care about money. Even when other boats pay they only want the yachts cause they know how much they can get from them. They said they had room on 10/22/19 but then minutes later they said no space but then 10 minutes later a yacht called in and they said oh yes we have plenty of room. So again it’s about how much they can get not safety.
Very efficient and competent dock hands make arrival and departure a nonevent! Clean and well maintained grounds. Easy fuel fill where you’re tied. Fun and good restaurant. Extensive menu, food well prepared and delicious. Good band added to the festive ambiance. Marine store. This marina is right on the ICW, long dock, all boats side tied. Very rural, not within walk of any shopping except with a $70 Uber ride.
Easy in and out with a pleasant staff to help you get set up when you dock. However, came here for three primary reasons: 1) fill up water tanks; 2) update our smartphones via wifi; and 3) have a great prime rib dinner at the restaurant. Sorry to say we weren't able to accomplish our goals. First the water tested at 700+ parts per million. EPA says anything over 500 is not potable. We usually have only put water in out tanks up to a reading of 300; 2) could never connect to the WIFI signal (we were at the end of the dock though); and 3) restaurant was OK but was expecting more given its reputation. It just did not live up to the hype.
Always a treat to have dinner at Coinjock. Dock staff always helpful. Facilities clean.
Great help at dock. Easy in and out. Restaurant is good. Nothing here but the restaurant, but great stop between Belhaven and Norfolk.
We had a great day. Everyone at the dock was incredibly friendly. The wine is a great value and the restaurants in Belhaven are superb. One of my favorite spots on the East Coast.
Friendly, helpful staff. Good facilities. Excellent restaurant.
Very helpful and friendly staff! Good fuel prices. Very well stocked ships store. You need it, they have it. Great prime rib!!
Great place to stop. Simple but with full amenities. Good food too!
Great reception. Lots of space on the dock Sept. 20. The swing bridges had just opened after Florence. We had a good meal, on 16oz prime rib.
Another great visit. Knowledgeable staff makes docking less stressful. Enjoyed the soft shells for dinner!!
I gave them 5 stars. Not sure why Dockwa tries to force me to fill in this box when I don’t have anything else to say.
Friendly staff. Easy docking, fast fuel pumps. Best prime rib hands down!!!!!!
Great stay. VERY friendly team that works there. Well appointed. Didn’t try the 32 oz prime rib. Perhaps next time. Lol.
Very helpful staff, excellent shop, restaurant, docks, facilities
Efficient, professional service. Stayed in awesome apt over restaurant. Great prime rib.
Stayed at Coinjock Marina this past weekend. Great Marina and Great Restaurant!! Lewis the owner came out to greet us and JD the deckhand was there to serve with anything you needed. We left the Top Rack Marina in Chesapeake(another Great Marina)and plan to make this trip again soon.
