Dock was really not safe to use, I understand the storm damage from this past year but I would not let my guests walk on the dock (#4) it was far from safe. Rusty bolts sticking out of the side of the dock with no protection. Nothing to prevent anyone from boarding the boat, except a rope across the aisle. Hopefully will get updated and repaired soon, really a nice little gem in a great location.
While This might be a fine marina for small boats, it should not show up in a search if your draft is over 3’. We draw 4’2” and just happened to come in a high tide. We had a soft grounding in the center of the channel, backed out and followed a local boater. There is zero info that lets you know that! When we made it to the marina there is no information that lets you know where your slip is. We tried calling the front desk (there is no dockmaster) 5 times and never got through. There was just enough water under the keel to keep us floating, so I didn’t fell like I could just explore We “treaded water” in the cold, wind, and rain until the crew on a fishing boat steered us in the right direction. Be aware, there will be no one to catch lines, or assist in any way. Power is 30 amp only, and the victron system on the boat didn’t like it and would not switch to shore power. You have to check in with the front desk. When I did so I was asked if I had a room at the hotel. I told them I would be staying on my boat and was told they didn’t allow “liveaboards” !! I explained to them there is a difference between transient boaters and “liveaboards”. The manager had to approve our stay! We are now waiting for high tide to be able to leave - losing a whole travel day. Again, this might be an ok place to leave your day boat, but they are not set up to accommodate cruisers - I would never stay here again
We called 4Xs and kept getting rerouted or the individual on the phone did not understand English well enough to assist us for docking information. They were extremely polite and tried to assist. The marina and Ramada is trying to recover from the damages of the hurricane.
We love the hotel easy access to our boat.
The marina have everything we need. Very close to the ramp. The webside and the registration was very easy definitely I would rent again.
