Heritage Plantation Marina has a 550’ "Transient Use" face-dock conveniently located on the Intracoastal Waterway channel with deep water access (a mean low water depth of 30ft), which gives us the ability to accommodate larger vessels.
We are located six miles north of Georgetown, SC on the ICW and Waccamaw River. The marina is located within the gated community of Heritage Plantation, which was developed on the original sites of Midway and True Blue rice plantations in historic Pawleys Island, SC. Intertwined throughout the community is the Heritage Plantation Golf Club, one of the areas premiere public courses with breath taking views of the river, marshes and stately live oaks.
Interior dockage of over 1,600’ is utilized for long term contracts, as available. The Dock House is open daily for reading or watching television and the sunset views from the deck and crows nest are amazing. There are Restrooms, showers and free laundry facilities available for guests in the Dock House.
Many options for shopping, dining and entertainment are located within 4 miles of the marina. Local favorites such as the white beaches and scenic walking trails of historic Sandy Island and Brookgreen Gardens are just a few minutes by boat or car Three local beaches; Pawleys, Litchfield and Huntington; offer terrific swimming, surfing, fishing or sun bathing.
Our marina welcomes transient boaters for periods up to 30 days and long term dockage rates are available for those who simply never want to leave. We look forward to you docking with us!
Trent stayed and met us at the dock, even though he was getting off work for the weekend. Very good service. our stay was pleasant though short.
Good stop point on the way to Charlston. Helpful staff with good amenities. However the dock cleats over the side of the T head and will damage your boats hull pretty bad. Additionally the current can be very strong at times.
Great place to spend the night! Took an Uber into town for dinner.
Easy tie along river. resident live aboards egar to help tie. Lots of local information. Took short ride to town for a fabolous dinner.
Great marina, clean and taken care of
The Dockmaster was super helpful.
Enjoyed our stay. Nice clean marina. Thank you
Facilities are in great condition. Bathrooms were clean. Very peaceful location
Nicely maintained docks and facilities. Dockmaster Trenton is very good. We saw him stay late to bring in a late arriving boat. Community is upscale around the marina but you will need a bike, scooter or shared ride to get to the market or restaurants. Free laundry, only one washer and dryer so make it a priority if you need to use.
Trent is absolutley terrific! Great pumpout and dock location on the face dock; very easy exit back onto the ICW
My husband suffered an injury while at anchor. This was the closest marina to get us to an urgent care facility. The dockmaster, Trent, went out of his way to help us get the care my husband needed. He certainly cares about the boaters in the marina and offers the highest customer service. We were in a location that was unfamiliar to us where we knew no one. He made us feel safe and cared for.
Dockmaster Trent was excellent communicator, helped with lines. Facilities excellent- free laundry! Nice clubhouse and outside area!
What a wonderful experience and the dock master Trent is exceptional. We had anchored in the bay of Georgetown, but knew a strong storm was approaching and wanted the safety of a marina for the next three nights. Heritage Plantation only a few miles north provided this peace of mind and security. The marina has a strong current, but with Trent's help, we were quickly and efficiently tucked in before the approaching storm. The facilities are spotless, the laundry is FREE, the locals friendly, and the surrounding neighborhood stunning. A three-mile Uber ride dropped us at Pawley's Raw Bar for lunch. The grocery store is next door to the restaurant a quick Uber ride back all completed before the winds started to blow.
Great facilities! Thanks for the stay and look forward to coming back.
Amazing place, and the sunsets are beautiful. You can't ask for a better dockmaster!
Very pleasurable. Trent was more than accommodating. He greeted us at the dock and helped us tie up. He welcomed us and showed us around the marina. There were clean showers and free laundry facilities. We were able to hang out in the marina and watch TV for awhile and get away from the boat. The marina was tucked away in a refuge, so the wildlife was splendid to watch. The sunsets and sunrises were amazing. A great place to stop if you are traveling down the ICW through Georgetown, South Carolina. Prices are affordable. Be sure to check out his pet parrot. Highly recommended. Carrie Ann ~ Blue Water Boat Delivery.
Trenton was an extremely congenial, competent, and professional dockmaster. He met us with a big smile, as he helped us tie off at the dock. The facilities were clean and the laundry free. We would not hesitate to stay in the future.
Good facilities & convenient. Dockmaster Trent is great.
Marina is just 6nm N of Georgetown SC on the ICW / Waccamaw River. Part of a gated community and golf course, it's just a couple of miles from groceries, shopping and restaurants. Pleasant walks with beautiful views of the river, marshes and course. Uber readily available. Marina staff is great – Trent (dock-master) welcomed us and assisted as needed. Facilities are clean and well maintained. Water, electrical, wifi and pump-out. Friendly folks and beautiful area! Enjoyed our stay.
Great facility…excellent location …with an extremely competent dock master
It was a good place to ride out a storm. The floating docks put my mind at ease as the storm surge rose and then fell in the area.
Face dock on flowing river. Dock in process of upgrade but for a few missing cleats was very serviceable. Trent, the dock master was helpful, but away on weekends. Members all very nice. I will stay here again next time I go thru.
Always a great time here on our way North/South on the ICW. The dock master Trent, is so helpful with reaching out ahead of time as to where to dock and updates on the facilities. He is the best!
Our visit was good. Needed an emergency stop for the night. It worked out well.
Exceptional. Beautiful location. Clean marina. Trent is the dock master and we can’t say enough about him. He is beyond helpful, personable and really enjoys his job. We hope the owner of this marina knows just how dedicated Trent is. A real Southern gentlemen who is always ready to help at a real Southern gem of a marina. Many thanks Trent we hope to see you again soon!
The Dockmaster Trent was awesome in every way! Great stop for the night Great price
Good little stop on the ICW. Dock master was very friendly. If it wasn't for the 30 knots winds, it would have been perfect. Will definitely stop again.
Wonderful facilities, lounge , atmosphere and staff. Trent was especially helpful, courteous and friendly.
Marina located in a Beautiful Gated Community, with amazing views of the Waccamaw River. Dockmaster Trent is great. Only reason for 4 stars is that Docks need a little TLC and WiFi not great
Marina is very convenient and clean. Dock-master is outstanding
Excellent marina staff! Only thing I would say is they need to replace some cleats some are in bad shape
Quiet, not fancy, strong currents but easy in out along face dock, great scenery but lacks amenities. Trent the Dockmaster is awesome. He has good local knowledge and makes your transient stay very welcoming. The 2-seater swing atop the roof of the dockmaster’s office is great.
Trent, the Dockmaster, makes a stay at Heritage very safe and pleasant. He goes the extra mile.
Nice quaint marina. Trent, dockmaster, is great!
The Marina is somewhat isolated but that is the location so no surprise. Tied up on inside of king dock in 20kt NE winds with help of other boaters - staffing is limited hours, but good communication. Nice facilities at Mariana, with a great patio to enjoy in nice weather. Single washer/dryer that was free and nice boaters lounge. Would stay again as nice stop on way to Charleston.
Wonderful warm welcome by a very competent dock master. We can’t say enough good about Mr. Trent’s excellent boat handling skills, knowledge of his waters, and kindness in recommending the highlights of the area. The Marina itself is delightful, cleanest restroom and shower rooms we’ve ever seen in a marina!! The docks are floating which was a bonus in the super high tide from just past full moon plus storm flooding. We walked around the adjacent 500 home gated community and revelled in the gorgeous landscaping, abundant wildlife, and the hospitality of every person we met. Then we enjoyed our happy hour sitting on the porch swing high up in the crow’s nest overlooking the beauty of the marina and river. Such a peaceful place! We will definitely stop here any time we are close by!! We think it’s the best kept secret in all of the East coast marinas! But check it out!!
A fine place to stay. A little run-down seeming for the price. They didn’t let the gate guard know my son was coming, so there was a little rodeo with him getting in to the marina by car. But, friendly people.
We stayed one night at Heritage, it was a good stop for trip down the ICW. We were able to get groceries delivered, no fuel, no pump out, but the showers and restrooms were great. Laundry is available. We were new to the fast currents so they asked a couple already there to assist us with ropes.
We stayed at Heritage Plantation Marina for 5 nights waiting out the weather associated with Hurricane Nicole. Our 46’ sailboat did very well on the great floating docks. The marina is just lovely, great attention by the dock master and great facility. We will definitely stay here again! Great discovery!
Trent the dock master was fantastic. He corralled the boat to the dock with the wind and current racing by. Nice facilities with great showers. Very clean and nice neighborhood to walk around.
The Dock master Trent was super acclimating and made out stay very enjoyable. The way CS should be everywhere.
We had the most amazing week at Pawleys. Trent, the dock master was beyond helpful. He stayed late to help us get out boat launched, and every morning we could tell he had been by to double check it’s security of our dock tie offs. We will definitely be back again. ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The dock house was also immaculate. Beautiful and relaxing views ‼️
Dockmaster Trent was always right there taking care of business.
Super easy access to get our boat on the dock.
the dockmaster Trent was the best. totally above and beyond!
It is a very nice marina. Trent is very helpful in all ways possible. The lounge is comfortable and clean. The bathrooms top notch. The laundry machine is handy. We had a rental car so we were able to travel out of the neighborhood, otherwise this is a one night stop. The main dock tilts and some of the cleets are not very secure so that is the reason for only 4 stars. But, the management team is focused on fixing it so I look forward to stopping here again on my way south this fall.
Trent, the Harbormaster was excellent. Being relatively new boaters, the wind and current we’re challenging (for me 😉). Trent was very patient through my multiple attempts to dock. The marina itself was wonderful. Good power, floating docks and great Wi-Fi. The restrooms were immaculate. A great value and we will visit again!
Our stay at the Heritage Plantation Marina on March 26, 2022 was terrible…worst experience at a marina ever. Prior to arriving, the marina did not answer the phone nor return any voicemail messages. The only responses were cryptic messages on Dockwa. Upon arriving, I hailed the marina several times and finally received a response from someone that said "no one worked there". We pulled up to the dock during operating hours only to be greeted by a homeowner that just happened to be on the dock. The face dock was in disrepair with no rub rails, therefore causing significant damage to our boat's gel coat. The marina appears to be owned by the Heritage Plantation HOA with no management or dock staff. We sent emails to the president of the HOA and the management company, along with photos of the damage to our boat. No response in two weeks. Obviously this HOA should not be listed as a commercial marina or advertised on Dockwa.
Five stars isn't enough for not only this marina but for their Dock master. Greeted upon arrival by Jay. He tied me up and informed me on the area. He is very knowledgeable. Since I just purchased my boat my car was 36 miles from the marina. I told Jay how I couldn't find an Uber could he help. I found out he lives a hour and fifteen minutes away from the marina and a hour away from my car. This should tell you the type of guy he is. I needed to drive home for the night and an unexpected storm came through. My boat lines snapped I was afraid I would loose my home, only to find out jay came on his day off to make sure every boat at the marina was safe. He sent me pictures of before and after as I raced back to my boat. This man goes over and beyond for his boaters. With speaking with him I found out this marina will be loosing a great asset, for he has turned in his notice and will be working closer to home. I can't thank Heritage enough for having such a great guy working for them. He helped untie me. I feel not only was I taken care of but I have a new life long friend.
Dock Master, Jay was very helpful & made sure we had everything we needed. Beautiful facility. Clean showers, lovely Clubhouse & deck, as well as free laundry. We will definitely be back. Gorgeous setting!
Awesome place. Very easy going and laid back. Good value.
Excellent service and very friendly and helpful dock mates. Great place to stay.
Very nice marina right on the ICW. Very clean facilities, free laundry, short Uber to town. Reasonable rates along with a bonus third night. I will definitely book here in the spring. Dock master is very friendly and helpful!
Jay the manager was super helpful and texted me a picture of the dock showing us exactly where to dock. Even checking in on our progress as we headed that way. I highly recommend this marina as a place to stop. Very nice dock neighbor too.
Great marina for a quiet stay. Jay was a great help in getting tied up and familiar with the marina. Highly recommended stop.
Jay makes this good stop off the ICW a great one. Marina facilities are spotless, warm and inviting. Christmas decorations are going up. Current can be a factor here and he was a tremendous help in getting GREEN EYES spun around and off the dock. Thanks for everything Jay! Scott and Tris
Great marina! Dockmaster Jay worked really hard to make sure we were taken care of. The facilities are clean and the view is stunning. 10/10 recommend!
A well-kept marina with good, clean facilities. Jay, the dock master, was very helpful; a perfect combination of professionalism and friendliness.
The Dock Master Jay is just awesome. Generous with information, very knowledgeable, goes above and beyond to provide exceptional, personable service. The Marina was perfectly placed for our Trek South. Very accommodating, all the necessities you’ll need.
Friendly, helpful people, a nice facility with free laundry and a beautiful sunset view! Great place to stop on the way down the ICW.
Very nice marina directly located at the ICW. Ideal for transients to stop for a night or longer. The bathrooms and showers are very well maintained. Fees are reasonable and lower as other marinas in the area. No fuel available. Nearest place to get food would be Heritage Golf Clubhouse which closes early. Ask dockmaster Jay for advice. He ist happy to help everyone. Spectacular sunsets and idyllic nature all around.
Near perfect Marina. Harbor master was the best. Clean restrooms and showers. Free use of washer and dryer. Very appreciative of transient boaters. Will stop again.
Wonderful peaceful place to spend some time. The Harbormaster, Jay was a real treasure. Very helpful and professional. We will be back again!
My daughter and I were kayaking the Waccamaw River from the start of the river to Georgetown. We needed a place to stay near the Heritage Marina the night before our final day. I called Jay the Dock Master and problem solved. We had never met and he still bent over backwards to find us a place to stay/camp overnight. There was no place to stay at Heritage but he found us another place. Jay was a life saver for us. I'm sure that he will be as helpful to you if needed.
The Dock Master Jay at the Heritage Marina is so helpful ..I was taken back in awe all of his knowledge of the rivers and the bay surrounding our Marina .He has a wealth of information were to go and were not to go on certain days I fell very much at ease knowing we have such a responsible man taking care of our beautiful Marina ..thank you Jay
Pros; Great dock master, good toilets & facilities. Free laundry, gated community, Brookgreen Gardens nearby. Cons; Dock extends out into river so high current and bad boat wakes. Face dock is sloped at 10 degrees, so beware.
2021-05-06 After a beautiful day of traveling the ICW we decided to drop anchor in the Wakamaw River. Unfortunately our anchor failed. It was after 8 pm and we needed to find an emergency marina. I called the marina and it was closed. However there was a phone for the dock master. I called and left a message. Jay called me back. I explained my situation and he reassured me that everything would be fine. We docked for the night. His hospitality and genuine caring for our situation made our unexpected stay beyond beautiful! If I could leave a thousand star review I would!!!! My next trip down the ICW in October I will absolutely make sure to stay here again!! If you find yourself In the ICW please stop here for the night! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!! Captain Dana
Dock master Jay went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable! Highly recommend!
Great location, dog friendly, and Dockmaster Jay was great assisting us with docking. Will stay again.
Absolutely gorgeous place. The dock master, Jay, bends over backwards to make sure your stay is comfortable. Easy in and out. Deepest water I believe on the ICW. Good showers and free laundry. Perfect balance.
Great marina, great location. Jay the Dockmaster is extremely helpful. Will be back.
well maintained and welcoming marina. Jay the Dockmaster is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and always goes the extra mile. He has been so supportive of me and the new "toy"
The marina had no space for us but Jay went out of his way to find a space in Myrtle Beach. Thank you.
Great Marina! Stayed for thee days. Management was very helpful and available. Premises was clean. restrooms and Laundry were easily accessible. Docking rate was very reasonable.
I have read the reviews of Jay Sheely, Dockmaster at the Heritage Marina in SC and from other's personal experience they must be true. I had never had contact with Mr. Sheely until this afternoon and his response was what you would want from any person dealing with a marina service company. ON THE BALL....I would hire him any day.
5 star marina with another 5 stars for Dockmaster Jay! Bathrooms, shower, docks all great as well. Highly recommend!
This has been one of the best marinas I’ve visited. It’s not a large marina, but has great floating docks which accommodate locals and transients. Jay, the dockmaster, welcomed me and made special efforts to meet my needs. His management creates a feeling of community, which I appreciate. Many stars.
We arrived after hours and no one was there to help us dock. The current is extremely strong and we had difficulty. Because we left early, we never got a chance to see the inside of the office. Jay, the dockmaster, called us to see how our stay was. Very nice and helpful.
Nice marina. Jay was very helpful. Pump out down but should be up soon.
We were bringing our boat to the Marina, I contacted Jay the dock master and he was very informative and helpful. We we arrived he walked us thru docking, his knowledge of the Marina and its tides made it a very easy to dock. He was very helpful in getting lines right. Once docked he came back at least three times to make sure everything was ok and lines were proper. He is a great asset to this Marina.
Great stop along the Waccama River on the ICW. Marina is clean, quiet and the location is convenient. Staff is friendly and accommodating.
One of the BEST! Extremely well kept, pet friendly, nice “park like” setting in a gated community.
Even though we arrived a little after closing, we were met by the dock master who stayed late to help us. The facilities were nice.
Heritage, and especially Jay, are incredible hosts and you won't be disappointed. Clean and quiet docks and accommodations with an outstanding DockMaster. Jay makes sure everything is in order and is always there to lend a hand. Fellow boaters passing through during our 3 week stay only had good things to say as many of them were repeat transients.
Yesterday Our Community was able to Host a 9/11 Remembrance on the Deck of Heritage Marina. We would like to Thank Jay for His support & efforts in aiding the preparation for this Event. Your Thoughtfulness suppling a New Flag to raise is Greatly Appreciated. A True Asset, Gentleman & Patriot!! God Bless !!
We were displaced by the 2020 hurricane that destroyed our marina in Southport, NC. Finally released from the rubble we travelled south looking for a place to stay since our dock was destroyed and we had been without water or electric for nearly 2 weeks. Our good fortune found us at this beautiful and accommodating location. Jay, the marina manager was delighted to provide us with a hearty welcome and made us feel as if we had come home. If you pass by this lonely stretch of the river be sure to stay awhile to enjoy a most incredible sunset. Super clean restrooms and facilities with a most gracious host.
The dock master Jay is outstanding and very knowledgable. The marina is beautiful. Jay, off the clock, towed me back to the marina when my engine overheated. Best sunsets!
Beautiful marina, amazing views, and clean restrooms. Dock master was extremely polite and professional. Loved our weekend stay at the Heritage plantation and can’t wait to be back soon.
Beautiful marina. Clean bathrooms/sitting areas/ dock areas. The dock master Jay was super friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend to others!
Very friendly and helpful staff. We got stuck nearby when headed to Heritage. Dock master Jay came to take us off our boat including our dog, then brought me back to my boat at high tide. Helped me get off the shoal and made sure I was completely clear. We met at the marina where he helped me tie up.
We came in a storm and Jay couldn’t have been more helpful!
Dockmaster Jay is great! When I tell him that I am going to fish in my kayak for a couple of hours, he actually checks in with me if I go longer to make sure I'm alright. This is really going above and beyond!
We had a great stay at the marina. Jay was an excellent dock master and host. He was exceptionally helpful and accommodating. We will definite be back.
This was our second stay at Heritage, again everything was great. Jay the dock master is always very helpful and accessible. We will be back soon.
This was an awesome marina! Very dog friendly and enjoyed it so much. Staff was fantastic
Heritage Marina is the best! Beautiful, romantic sunsets...great harbour master (Jay)...peaceful...a great place to rest from the real world...great ladies room, shower, a place to relax with tv and coffee...pump out...Need anything then Jay will help you find it. We have been here off and on for over five years. Highly recommend.
Great little stop. Nice dock master highly recommend visiting
Great marina in a beautiful quiet location. Docks in good condition, good clean facilities, and free washer/dryer access. Ideal for leaving your boat for extended periods as the marina is in a gated community (you get a pass when you arrive) and therefore very safe. Dock on the inside of the main dock to avoid the occasional wake. Jay -Dockmaster- is very friendly and knowledgeable. He helped us out many times with advice and local knowledge. Everyone else we met in the marina was also extremely friendly. Good restaurants, hardware stores, and a West Marine all within 20 min drive. In conclusion, great place to stop for a night or a month!
The stay was brief but excellent. Dock staff friendly and efficient. Facilities in great shape and clean.
5+ Great stop - very pet friendly ( which we need ) with great club house and free laundry and cost effective for Boat US members - Jay the dock master is the best- goes out of his way to help or get what you need. When weather conditions delayed our departure he did everything he could to keep us here for another day at a extremely good price. Will be here again on our return North. We are also MTOA / AGLCA members and will let members know of this great stop
Don’t miss Heritage Plantation!!! This one of the better values on the ICW. Easy access to all the services at Pawley’s Island. Dock master Jay couldn’t have been more heipfull.
2nd visit. Will definitely use again if in the area. Facilities are clean and good strong WiFi on the dock.
Excellent service by the dock master. Clean modern facilities. Nice grill and deck. Floating docks in excellent condition
We stayed a night at Heritage Plantation Marina in early December 2019. We were very happy. It is a VERY convenient stop, situated right on the Waccamaw River. The facilities were clean and first-rate. Jay, the Dockmaster, was fantastic and very knowledgeable about that area. He took care to see we were well situated and secure and helped us on and off the dock. We will return.
My wife and I decided to sail from Brunswick, GA to Nags Head for our anniversary and thought it would be nice to stop at Pawleys Island on the way. We've read the great reviews of Heritage Plantation and we were not disappointed. The dock master was very knowledgable and assured us that we were in great hands. We were! We were extremely impressed with the professionalism and service we were given at Heritage and we've also decided to stop by here on our way to Plymouth later in the spring.
Beautiful location with gorgeous views. Especially around sunset. The marina itself is very well maintained, clean facilities and has the nicest dock master, Jay. Hes very knowledgeable, welcoming and joy to work with. We will definitely be back next spring and summer. Thank you!!
Such a beautiful marina! Jay was always there to help us or we couldn’t have stayed all season. This place is incredibly well run, the dockmaster does a fantastic job. Jay is awesome, do yourself a favor and stop by and meet him!
We were amazed at how beautiful this marina is,the views are incredible! Not to mention how well run it is. We had a fantastic experience working with Jay, the dock manager. He is one of the most knowledgeable marina managers we have ever had the pleasure to work with. As a local, he gave us the scoop on things to do and the places we needed to see. We cant thank you enough Jay! Hope to see you real soon. Sandy & Frank
Jay the Dockmaster is awesome. This is a super nice marina. Quiet, calm ,and gorgeous. Thank you Jay!
My husband and I came across this beautiful Marina. While out on our waterways adventures. What a great place to dock. The dock manager was so kind and knowledgeable. We recommend this beautiful marina Ask for Jay he has done a great job to make it so inviting.
Heritage Plantation Marina in Pawleys Island SC is one of the prettiest little places we have stoped at thus far. The bathrooms and dockhouse are top notch! The dock master "Jay" goes out of his way to make sure you are comfortable. We try to stop every chance we get. 5 stars all around!
I am a homeowner in Heritage, hence an "owner" of the Heritage Plantation Marina. My home overlooks the marina with a great westerly view of sunsets. Our Dockmaster, "Jay", in my opinion, is doing a fine job. We expect him to enforce the rules that are quite fair. The place is pretty much immaculate with clean restrooms and a really nice visitor area where one can sit, get a free cup of Keurig coffee, and watch the migration of boats south this time of the year on the Intra Coastal Waterway. I've noticed some high end transient power yachts and sailboats using our marina, probably more than in the past. Uber service is available into the Pawleys Island shopping area which has most stores and amenities anyone would need. Of course our own owners keep their boats here and the marina serves as a walking destination for many, having a marvelous observation tower to further enhance the fabulous view up and down the Waccamaw River all the way into Winyah Bay at Georgetown. Georgetown goes back to the Colonial era and is a can't miss visit!
Prompt and friendly service from Jay the manager, great stop on the ICW, good scenery and facilities, about 2mi from town. I’ll be stopping again on my way back north for summer.
A hidden gem! Always a breeze, clean, well-managed by helpful, knowledgeable dock master Jay. Small with quiet surroundings!
Started out 2 day stay ended up 6 days. Town 2.5 mile Uber no issues. Very clean marina and Jay was very accommodating will be back on trip north . Thanks
Great location and easy in and out access from the river. Plenty of depth for our 5.5 draft. Jay, the dockmaster, is readily available and helpful with any questions you may have. I highly recommend Heritage Plantation Marina for either short or longer stays.
Heritage Plantation Marina is an excellent choice. I have my 46 foot sailboat docked here for several months. The dockmaster, Jay, is quick to respond to any inquiries and is readily available during business hours. He knows a lot about the local area and contractors. Heritage Plantation is a beautiful location with shopping, restaurants and beaches within nearby driving distance. I would highly recommend this marina.
This is an outstanding marina along the ICW. Even though it is not a destination marina (has restaurant, shops, close to things to do), it is well run, reasonable and not that far (about 2 miles) from good places if you have a car, uber or a bike. This is a great place to be if you have a dog (pet). the walking is great and safe being that it is a private subdivision. The monitor traffic going by better then any marina I'm aware of. With their docking special pricing, you can't beat it. Include the great rest rooms and free laundry (stacked washer/dryer) it is our new stop transiting north or south.
Having kept my 53’ boat at this marina for a year now I feel qualified to give it an excellent rating. The dock master is very responsive to any requests and can be counted on to do whatever he tells you he will do. The setting is beautiful, security is good, and the attenuating dock works well! I highly recommend this facility.
Dockmaster Jay goes out of his way to ensure you have a pleasant experience at the marina and on your boat.
We’ve used Heritage to dock our boat for 3 years in row. Jay is the best! He helped us get out of a precarious situation with a smile on his face! Facilities are always beautiful and clean. Heritage and Jay will always be our 1st choice.
We were stuck in a bad storm and Jay was very welcoming to our family. He was very nice and offered us several things to make sure we felt safe and all the kids were calm. He gave us the remote and said make yourself at home.
Very accommodating deep water marina! Quiet spot to stop for the night. We would stay here again.
This marina is great. Conveniently located just north of the cool on-water villa of Georgetown it offers deep water docks, a nice indoor captains lounge (with coffee and a Keurig), clean baths and showers and a nice outdoor deck. Dockmaster Jay will quickly earn your trust and appreciation for being courteous and very helpful.
Facilities were clean and up to date. Dockmaster was very helpful and is certainly an asset for this location.
Dockmaster very helpful.
Great place! Good amenities, good people, and a super dock master! Close to stores for anything you might need. I would highly recommend a stop here if you’re passing by or staying for a while.
We came to this marina in need of medical help last month. We were on our way to Florida when my husband began experiencing severe pain. We called the dock master on our way in and by the time we arrived, Jay (the dockmaster) had called an ambulance and it was on its way. He could not have been more kind and helpful. While we were at the emergency room, Jay looked into several possible accommodations for our little dog, Lolita, in case we could not get back to the boat that night. He called a couple of vets and also called his girlfriend to see if he could bring her home with him. She agreed immediately not even needing to hear the circumstances. We were there for three days (by the way after staying for two days, the third day is free), and he checked in with us regularly and offered any help we might need. I had rented a car which I thought needed to be returned to the rental office. I didn't know how I would return to the marina. When I mentioned this to Jay he told me he would arrange to have it picked up at the marina. This is a beautiful marina with an exceptional dock master - we look forward to our next visit and recommend all boaters spend a couple of days there! Deb, Bruce and "Lolita" Weaver
We have been by here many times, but this was the first time we stopped. What a gem. Unless there is some compelling reason to go to Georgetown, this is a much better overnight stop. Right on the ICW and easy in and out. Deep water. Nice floating docks and excellent wifi. The down side is that there are only houses and a golf course within walking distance, and only a few power pedestals have 50A.
Jay, the dock master was extremely helpful. We made a last minute reservation on line and he responded very quickly via dockwa plus called to make sure we were all set. He helped us tie up and then gave us a tour of the marina and showed us where everything was. Clean facilities, tv to see the weather channel and even free laundry. We will definitely stop again when we are passing through.
This review is not for staying at Heritage, because in the end we did not, but with how wonderful Heritage was with the handling of our reservation. Heritage Plantation had some damage due to the storms this fall and only had 30amp available when we accepted our Dockwa request. Thinking we had 30 amp connector on board (normally we use 50) we confirmed the reservation. We searched our boat to only find we did not so we looked at our charts and decided we could make it to Georgetown. Being a Sunday late afternoon And knowing no one would be at Heritage to dock us we contacted the marina through Dockwa to let them know we wouldn’t be stopping. Much to our surprise we received a credit for our reservation and really appreciated that gesture. Thank you Heritage. We hope to try you at a later time.
We can’t say enough about how wonderful this marina is and especially their dockmaster, Jay! He takes special care of each boat here and treats everyone like family. He is very dedicated and did an amazing job dealing with the difficulties and hazards posed by Hurricane Florence and the resulting flooding. Thank you Jay!
Jay Sheely helped my grandchildren go fishing by creatively putting together twine, a nail, and a hook to make a pole. He talked to them about being a Eagle Scout and took the time to positively engage with them. It was great experience for all.
If I could give 10 stars I would. The dock master Jay was extremely helpful and willing to do the extra work. We appreciated his help and knowledge of the area. Thank you Thank you Thank you
Marina accommodations were excellent and the Dock Master was extremely helpful, courteous and informative.
This is a very nice little marina with good amenities. But the best thing about it is their great Dockmaster. Jay was awesome. He ensures we had a slip and helped us dock in terrible weather.
Jay who manages the marina is a hero and amazing guy. Not only did he save us with a can of gas when we ran out but he also bandaged our sons foot after he removed a splinter. Heritage Plantation is a beautiful marina that is VERY well maintained. I definitely recommended this place!
Heritage Plantation Marina is a great stop. Not much available for shopping. A quiet, comfortable stop. Great for pets. Facilities are excellent. Friendly community. Even though we would not arrive until late, Jay, the dock master had everything laid out for us and would meet us in the morning. Thank you. We will mark this for our return trip.
Returning northward on the ICW some four years after first seeing this Marina, which was not in our Marina book, we had a breakdown. Anchored in the river, we called the dock master, Jay, who immediately came out in a small boat and expertly maneuvered us to the dock where he helped us tie up, noting the currents which can be problematic. What a delightful place and such a friendly and helpful dockmaster! Everything is clean and tidy. The boaters lounge and the deck and crows nest are available for use by transients, but what makes it special is the fact that residents also come down to the Marina and like to get to know the transients - very welcoming. Lovely bathrooms, good showers, laundry facility. Jay is a really helpful fellow, answering any questions and anxious to please. What started out for us as an unfortunate setback has turned into a memorable interlude in a lovely spot.
The Heritage Marina with the million dollar view is a treasure for our community. The well maintained docks, deck, rest rooms and club room are first class. We have enjoyed many sunset views sitting in the Cypress Lounge.
I have been an active/casual observer of Heritage Marina for the past nearly 20 years and have seen it progress from its early basic origins to the excellent 1st class status it enjoys today. The marina has always been maintained in good condition but in the past two years especially, I have seen it improve significantly with completely new decking throughout, fresh painting of office area, lounge, bathrooms, showers, with other enhancements planned or in progress. The marina currently continues to be clean, well maintained and managed, with a competent and very commendable Dock Master on site. D.West – Heritage Plantation resident.
Jay, the dock master makes you feel welcome.
Lovely place. Great, clean, air conditioned showers with lots of hot water at high pressure. Free laundry. Free pump-out. Dockmaster Jay is very helpful.
Jay met us at the dock and helped us tie up. He then assisted us in pumping out our holding tank which was quite full. He was professional and compitent, explaining the features of the marina and helping us get guest passes for our friends to pick us up for Thanksgiving. Everyone we met was friendly. Security was pleasant, they just needed to see our pass. Easy peasy. Bathroom facilities were clean and more than adequate. Free laundry was a plus. You must be prepared for wave slaps on the hull, and some boats do not allow up paying the docks so you will get rocked from time to time. This is the case at other marinas as well and Jay alerted is to this. Nothing horrible, just an annoyance.
Wonderful marina with a very competent and helpful Dockmaster, Jay Sheely. The marina provided a complimentary coffee service in a cozy lounge for transients and slip holders. A large deck with complimentary gas grill overlooked the Waccamaw River and there were an abundance of places to catch a beautiful sunset.
We booked a few nights stay here and are so happy we did! We came from Pennsylvania to see the total eclipse and neglected to mention we were towing the boat rather than coming up the ICW. Dockmaster Jay was so nice and helpful. He found us dry storage for our trailer and was very accommodating and informative. It was our first time in South Carolina - it's so beautiful! There are nearby beaches, a lighthouse, swamps, and a wildlife refuge right down the river. We enjoyed the wonderful sunsets and local restaurants. Everything you could want is within a few minute drive up the waterway. The dock itself looks new and has very clean facilities. We would love to return again for the "Southern Charm" and activities on Pawleys Island.
A very nice marina. Jay the Dockmaster is very friendly & helpful. Clean restroom, laundry, lounge, and patio area. The current is fairly strong (3-6Knts) so bet is to dock facing bow southward. You're on the ICW, with floating docks. My son & I came in with engine trouble in a 36ft Carver. Jay met us at the dock and helped pull us in on one engine. Then he helped to make sure we were squared away before going back to working on he marina. My only peeves are: 1. Other boaters on the ICW don't seem to remember about marinas and No Wake Zones. 2. The free WiFi is fast, but not a great signal out on the transient dock. However, a short walk (200ft) gets you into an air conditioned boaters lounge. I'll be putting this on the places to revisit on the Great Loop route.
Dockmaster Jay is super friendly, knowledgeable and eager to accommodate. The facility offers all the amenities we needed including WiFi and shower.. as well as an incredible sunset.
This is a great marina with clean and top knotch facilities along with a beautiful view on the ICW. The dockmaster, Jay, was very friendly and even went out of his way to make the kids feel welcome while we got a pump out! Also convenient to excellent restaurants and local bars in Pawleys Island which can be reached in 5 mins via Uber. We will definitely be visiting Heritage marina again!
We docked here after deciding the weather would not be fun at a near by anchorage. The current in the Waccamaw was moving pretty quick. Jay the dockmaster was very helpful in getting us docked on an inside facedock. Later he helped us turn the boat downstream to make our departure easier the next day. The floating docks are very nice and deep water. There is not fuel or a restaurant on-site.
Dockmaster Jay was very helpful and congenial. View was fantastic. Docking easy. Glad to know they welcome transients. Also, with help of Uber, this location means easy access to the many fine restaurants, beaches, golf and shopping which is available in this upscale area of the Grand Stand. We had a wedding reception to attend at Brookgreen Gardens. No problem.
Very nice overnight stop. Although there are no services, the facility is very nice. Bathrooms are clean and the docks are first class. If you are making tracks on the ICW, this is a great overnight stop.
Memorial Day weekend! Last minute we found this place. Intrepid- space seemed limited but the dock staff made room for us. From the marina to the guard gate everyone welcoming. Great rates! Will come again.
Heritage Plantation is a fantastic marina located directly on the Intracoastal Waterway. The amenities that this marina offers are second to none. The DockMaster was extremely helpful in securing me a slip for a very busy holiday weekend. I would recommend this marina to anyone traveling to the Pawleys area.
My husband and I saw this beautiful Marina headed North. I called in to see if they had room. The Dock Master J. answered right away! What a Nice guy. Very much a people person. He assisted in tying us to the dock. When asked about the area he had all the answers. If you need a UBER he has one on stand by. Everything about this Marina was peaceful, from the view to the home owners. Free laundry WIFI. The current was a little strong due to weather but J. made sure our lines were just right. If you want nice spot to dock I would recommend calling in. I couldn't believe the prices. VERY reasonable.
Had to make an emergency stop here and was greeted by the friendliest people. The Dock-master Adam is very accommodating, the facility is "Southern Comfort" picturesque beautiful. No fuel or ship store but everything else is above and beyond. Short or long term, this is a beautiful marina with a southern quality like no other.
