While the basin—"salt pond”—is among the greatest natural settings for a marina in New England, Champlin’s leans into the party scene a bit too much for my taste. Younger boaters / jet skiers may like it, but weary boaters should steer clear unless they are looking Fort Lauderdale during spring break. We spent a Saturday night tied off at the dock, and the pounding house music and partying went on until after 1:00 in the morning. I liked the Dock staff, who really helped with getting us on and off the dock, but I won’t be back. PS, You might need fender boards which they do not provide apparently.
