Report Review
We arrived on August 13 and originally planned to stay for five nights. We extended for another four nights because the reminisce of Hurricane Debbie was moving through the area. We had little choice.
Of all the marinas we have stayed in during our 4,000 miles of boat travel, this was (by far) the most disappointing. We paid a premium price and received third-rate service. Our experience is as follows:
a. The WIFI is not usable. We relied on our own hot-spot for internet service.
b. We needed to shop for groceries and such, and asked where the dock carts were. We were told there is only 1 standard cart for the entire marina. The boy in the office said people keep stealing them. REALLY! A marina this size with almost 500 slips and only one dock cart. UNBELIEVABLE!
c. We requested a pump-out, and did not receive it for 3-1/2 days. Again, the boy in the office offered several lame excuses, but no pump-out for 3-1/2 days.
d. A transformer failed one night, and we were without power for 1-1/2 days. We relied on our onboard generator to provide electricity during this time.
e. My wife wanted to do a few loads of laundry in the south bath house. When the washers drained, the water backed-up thru the floor drain and all over the floor.
It is obvious that the management and maintenance of this marina is pathetic. I would have thought that Tillman Fertitta would have provided a better product for his paying customers. I can think of no reason why we would ever stay here again, and will advise friends and family accordingly.
