We arrived at our cabin late evening. Check in was smooth. When we opened the door of our cabin there was a little mouse there to greet us. It is a cabin, so we laughed it off. The cabin had just the basics, so we had what we needed. Curtains did not cover the window; they were about five inches too short, which made it difficult to have privacy as anyone driving by could see in. Mattresses were about three inches thick. The bunk beds were very narrow. We slept ok on them though. There were woodpeckers' and bees boring holes in several of the cabins. Some holes going all the way through the logs, not on our cabin though. The docks had some age needed some maintenance. If we stood on the end too long the float would start to sink. We found several like that. They offered dinner cruises on the Proud Mary Show boat. We inquired about what they were serving, and no one seemed to know. Not even the hostess at the restaurant. After asking three different people at three different areas, I decided we would do something else. One night around 1:30am the power went out. We just figured they would take care of it and things would be on by morning. That was not the case. We called the office just before 8am, they told us that they were waiting for maintenance man to come in. They said the whole resort was off at 1:30, but only half had come on when the power was restored. In the meantime, we had no air conditioning, and it is forecasted to be mid 80's that day. We had a refrigerator full of food that had been off since 1:30am. And no way to make coffee or cook breakfast. So, we went to the store in the resort, and they charged us for the coffee and ice we needed to keep our food from spoiling. I'm not sure what customer service or hospitality you call that,?!!! There seemed to be no communication within the resort, and no one seemed to care if the guests were happy. No one was rude. They just didn't know anything. The man working the gas pump at the marina was super helpful and very knowledgeable about the lake. The lake was beautiful.
Love Raystown Resort. The marina staff are very helpful and it is a full service marina! I would like to see some of the nails/screws sticking out of the transient slips to be fixed along with the dock guards, but still love the place!
We didn’t use it. We never arrived at the dock due to a dead battery.
Staff was courteous and helpful, the lake is gorgeous!
Fantastic stay and loved being able to keep the boat at a slip vs pulling it in and out every day. Excited for the next stay!!
My husband and I had the best stay at Lake Raystown Resort. Very clean and every staff personnel were so nice and hard working. Love the Lake and most of all every citizen in the town are beautiful people! Thank you and we cannot wait to come back for years to come!
Lake Raystown resort is my favorite place and favorite Marina/Resort. From greeting at the entrance through security to any and all employees you’re greeted with a welcoming smile. The owners go out of their way to make sure that your stay is a wonderful experience. I have been coming here for 50 years! This place is second to none!
The amount of money they make per year just in yearly slip fees they should have no problems with their black tank pump out pumps at the fuel dock. Every time I go to use it one of the isn’t sucking properly. Also you’d think they would clean the caked on bird poop on the dock fingers at the beginning of the season. I have to do it myself. They also used to have live bands play on Saturdays but are cutting funds for entertainment I guess.
Great place and they are making great progress to bringing the marina into this century. Thanks
We were in A16 and the cleats were broken off. The kid from the gas shack replaced but screws dis not hold.
