Approach

The Capital Yacht Club is located on the north end of the Washington Channel, just south of the 14th Street Bridge. You will travel approximately one mile north on the Washington Channel from the intersection of the Potomac River, Washington Channel and the Anacostia River. The Capital Yacht Club will be the three docks on your starboard side between The Wharf's Recreation Pier and District Pier, with an average water depth of 20 feet. Air draft up the Potomac River is 135 feet at the 301 bridge and 170 feet at the power lines near Quantico. The Woodrow Wilson Bridge at Alexandria, VA has a clearance of 75 feet. You can call 877-463-6992, if you need to schedule an opening. When approaching CYC, please hail Dock Staff on channel 16 and switch to 68 for instructions. They will meet you at your slip with your welcome package with gate key cards and be happy to answer any other questions that you have.

Loved our stay here. Being on T-head A dock gave us amazing views. And it's a strict no wake zone. Very welcoming club. Make sure to get a drink and a meal at least once. Best pricing on the Wharf area and the food is really good. The Wharf operates a free shuttle. Google Southwest Shuttle. Highly recommend.

We spent five days a the capital Yatch club in October. Wonderful facility, great location, centrally located, ease of transportation, good food, good shopping and excellent service by the staff. Very clean restrooms, excellent and relatively inexpensive laundry facilities. We will be back.
