Harbor is beautiful and a relief after a long sail as far east as possible. Mooring balls could use a cleaning and new numbering with maybe a better grid to find the number you are assigned! We enjoyed watching(being in the middle of)the Friday night one design racing from the yacht club next to the harbormaster/dinghy dock although the sailors did come extremely close to the moored boats! The town was nice and we ate at the fishing pier. However, one risks their life on foot or bike walking over a mile to town on a road with NO shoulders. There were definitely as many people walking and biking as driving cars and a bike path and sidewalk should be on the town's to do list asap. We left a day early because of this otherwise we would have walked into town for more shopping and another meal. We met very nice folks to play pickleball with for $10pp. Also, because of the dangerous road condition, we chose not to ride the 4 miles to the grocery to restock. Again for the locals and the visitors, a path is needed along stage harbor road!!! It also might be a good idea for transients to be welcomed to hang with the yacht club group if they are having an event...Cruisers could bring some interesting travel conversations to the locals and locals could definitely help the cruisers learn about the shifting sand bars in this beautiful place. Very interesting!
