Owner of saybrook marina was sooo nice! He let the restaurant know we were coming for dinner with 2 Celiac (gluten free) 15 yo daughters. They were VERY accommodating with meal choices.
The driver of the shuttle was a such a breath of fresh air. Excited about his job, happy and super friendly! My daughters thought he was just awesome!
Only draw back was trying to get to and from Essex. Very frustrating to not have options for transport beyond Saybrook. No uber, no Lyft.
BUT, we took advantage of the 9 Towns Transit - it was amazing so long as it was before 6pm. Free transport - pick up and drop off at your specific locations. Why this isn’t offered as an option to guests is beyond me!
After 6pm, though, you’re on your own! Thanks to a friendly homeowner in Essex, we didn’t have to WALK all the way back to Saybrook (2 1/2 hours!!).
