There’s so much to love about this place. It has become our go-to marina resort, and we make at least two trips here every season.
Kate, the Dockmaster, is truly outstanding, and her entire staff is friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. The docks are in excellent condition, the dockside services are top-notch, and the pump-out boat makes regular rounds. There are always fellow boaters—both transients and marina members—around, creating a fun, social atmosphere, especially in the evenings.
The amenities are excellent. There are both indoor and outdoor pools, along with a hot tub, sauna, and steam room. The outdoor pool has a poolside bar and food service, plus complimentary cold water is always available. There is a spa that offers all services.
The hotel restaurant, Fresh Salt, offers a great menu and a lively atmosphere. In addition to the restaurant bar, there’s the Choo Choo Lounge, which features entertainment along with its own food and drink menu. A complimentary shuttle makes it easy to head into town for shopping, strolling, or enjoying one of the many excellent local restaurants.
One thing to keep in mind is that the outdoor pool and lounge chair area are somewhat limited in size. The hotel also offers memberships to local residents, many of whom bring their families, so the pool can become busy on nice days. If you’d like a lounge chair, it’s best to arrive earlier in the day. The pool is perfectly sized for hotel and marina guests, but the additional local membership means it fills up quickly.
One helpful tip: be sure to bring a credit card or cash when visiting the pool, restaurants, or bars. Purchases cannot currently be charged to your marina reservation, even though the marina already has your credit card on file. Several boaters we’ve met have been caught by surprise and had to return to their boats to retrieve a payment method. It’s really the only area we feel could be improved.
Wi-Fi is excellent throughout the marina. The signal on the docks is strong enough that we had no problem streaming on our TVs while aboard.
Do yourself a favor and visit this wonderful destination. It may become a regular
