Barnstable Harbor is located off Cape Cod Bay. Its a large harbor with multiple mooring fields/areas, shellfish grants, beaches, town/private marinas and multiple boat ramps/landings. This booking has 1 (one) transient mooring available. Marina transient dockage is available in-person/on phone only (508-362-1836) and not on dockwa.
Access by Federal Channel (BH Buoy). Mooring is located near "Sandy Neck Cottage Colony" mooring area; its in a protected area inside the harbor ; location of the mooring is right outside the federal Barnstable Harbor channel. Mooring location will be on starboard side as your heading towards inner harbor. Mooring is labeled with an orange stripe on the mooring ball for an easy visual upon approach and specific mooring ball number.
This mooring is not close to the shoreline. You would need to take a small vessel (dinghy) into inner harbor. Small vessel tie up is available at Town Marina per Dockmaster direction. Call 508-326-1836 to request temporary tie up. Vessels left in slips without permission are not allowed.
There are many restaurants, shops and a stores located in walking distance. Please be advised, Barnstable Harbor has a 10 ft tide cycle and strong currents. Rowing is possible but not advised.
