I arrived single handed in a 35ft Beneteau. Moorings clearly laid out. I was assigned A5 by Dockwa but pick-up float rod was snapped at water surface level— impossible to pick up. Went to next buoy but that was also broken. Third time lucky. I tried calling Redondo Beach Marine Office for help but they were closed for the weekend. Left VM for immediate assistance but nobody called back. Bottom line is that the moorings are very convenient for access to the harbor front restaurants but the upkeep of the moorings is extremely poor. Even the mooring lines were not well maintained and covered in algae and dirt .
