Great Kills Harbor |
Richmond County Yacht Club (RCYC) welcomes boaters to our premier facility in the heart of Great Kills Harbor—one of the finest deep-water yacht harbors on the Atlantic Coast. Our nearly landlocked basin offers exceptional protection from storms and stunning waterfront views.
We offer moorings with tender service, allowing for easy access to our beautiful, newly renovated clubhouse, which features a fully equipped kitchen, two bars, and a welcoming atmosphere for members and guests.
Conveniently located on the southeastern shore of Staten Island, RCYC provides quick access to New York Lower and Raritan Bays via a well-marked channel. Public transportation to NYC is just minutes away, making us an ideal stop for transient boaters and club members alike
On our way through Raritan Bay, we discovered the Richmond County Yacht Club—what a gem! The mooring field was calm and easy to navigate, and booking through Dockwa couldn’t have been simpler. The launch service was prompt, friendly, and made getting ashore effortless. From the moment we arrived, everyone at the club was welcoming and inviting. We were encouraged to relax at the bar, and after meeting a few members, we decided to stay for dinner—so glad we did! The food was great, the facilities were spotless, and the atmosphere struck the perfect balance between laid-back and lively. Plus, the club is just minutes from excellent local restaurants and delis, making it an even better stop for cruising sailors. We’re definitely adding RCYC to our list of go-to stops and look forward to returning soon.
We love staying at Richmond YC! It’s a convenient stop coming and going through the New York area and they are very responsive and friendly. The mooring field is open and easy to access. The launch service is great and drinks in the club are the best deal around. The members are friendly and there are some good restaurant choices within an easy walk. For some reason the pictures of the YC on Dockwa are of the old facility. They should be updated to show the beautiful new clubhouse.
Great place to stop. Tender service is very good. Very friendly club, lovely club house. Regular buses close by to shopping Mall and big Lidl supermarket. Laundry nearby too. Train station approx 20 min walk which takes you to Staten Island Ferry. Very convenient for going into New York.
Great launch service. People at the club are very welcoming. Worth a stop.
Very nice quiet anchorage. Yacht club answered our VHF call on 09 immediately and confirmed our ball number which had been sent to us in email. All was very good.
Great place to stop! The staff is very friendly and helpful, you get access to the RCYC which have showers. The harbor is well protected. We had a severe thunderstorm come through, probably 50-60 mph winds and no issues with the mooring field. Would definitely stay again.
Super well protected harbor. Very accommodating staff. Received prompt feedback to all messages. Very adequate launch. Quiet harbor and town.
We love visiting Richmond County Yacht Club! The clubhouse is lovely with great views of the harbor from the main and upper level bars. Facilities are clean and well kept. The launch driver is attentive and professional. Everyone we've met around the club have been friendly and welcoming. The neighborhood is walkable with access to restaurants and shops. The harbor itself is a great stop. Deep water and well protected.
Fantastic stay! Easy to navigate, super friendly and helpful staff. Calm water
Don’t do it. Just way way too much $$$ for a mooring!! Yes water taxi in the town when you need it but 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️. Also, the Maureen field is very confusing and was a lot of difficulty finding the assigned mooring with little help from the staff.
Excellent responses. Taxi tender assisted in locating the assigned mooring ball. Every one very friendly
Stopped at Richmond County Yacht Club on our way through Raritan Bay—what a great find! The mooring field is calm and easy to get into, and booking through Dockwa was a breeze. The launch service was quick and super friendly. Everyone at the club was welcoming. We were invited to hang out at the bar and even ended up staying for dinner—they really made us feel at home. Facilities were clean, and the vibe was relaxed but fun. Definitely adding this to our list of go-to stops. Hope to be back soon!
We stayed on a mooring ball at Richmond County Yacht Club. They offer a water taxi service free of charge, which was great. We didn't use any facilities while we were there. There are many restaurant offerings within walking distance.
The yacht club is very welcoming and has good facilities. Great tender service. The mooring field is very protected. Public transportation to Manhattan is nearby. Several groceries in walking distance.
Beautiful little oasis of tranquility. Support was great, very attentive. Shuttle boat to the docks was great!
For a place to stay near NYC, we were very pleased with RCYC. We stayed here for a week on a mooring waiting for a friend to land at Newark Liberty. The protection was excellent during several days of very rough winds. The launch service was dependable and helpful. The club facilities are adequate. Public transportation is a real plus. Frank and Sal's grocery is a treasure.
Great customer service, mooring and location. This is a well protected area and perfect stop when doing the Great Loop or cruising/sailing. Our stay in Great Kills Harbor was greatly enhanced by getting a mooring ball at the Richmond County Yacht Club! They have mooring balls and a tender service to pick you up and drop you off at your boat. The response time was fantastic with a tender arriving within minutes of our radio call! On shore there are several restaurants, grocery options (about 20 mn walk) and great yacht club amenities. Also several bars overlooking the water. We were greeted by Matt Malloy, the Commodore of the Yacht Club. Every part of our stop here has been fantastic! On your arrival, their mooring balls have two pennant lines, each with a loop suitable for attaching directly to your cleats.
Friendly club and great location. Very safe harbor. Many good restaurants nearby
Great harbor friendly people basic food a walk away. Ez transit to Manhattan 3 restaurants a few blocks away
