We kept our boat at this marina for the month of December 2014. We got a very good deal. We had only planned to stay a month but overstayed by a week and the marina accommodated the change without fuss. We used the high speed internet, electrical power, water, shower etc and had no problems. The marina adjusted our dock lines while we were away and the marina had a security gate which worked fine. The docks where we had our boat were in good shape. If you want to stay there be sure to check your draft with the marina to make sure you can get in. I would keep my boat there again if we find ourselves in Fort Myers.

As a tenant of over four and a half years, these are some observations that I have seen during my stay at Prosperity Point Marina. The docks are in bad shape. Most of the electric pedestals for shore power do not work or are in disrepair. Boat owners need to drag extention cords across the docks to other working outlets presenting trip hazards. Several people have tripped on uneven docks or power cords. The owners have been very slow to repair any item and some issues have been going on for an extended period of time.Several boats have sunk leaking oil and fuel into the water with no containment booms being put into place. As far as I know , the proper authorities were not contacted to deal with the issue when they happened. Several derelict boats are roach and rat infested which have caused other boat owners problems. Some stored boats have been robbed--including ours. As far as stating that the marina is a safe,The marina is in a area of North Fort Myers that is crime ridden with prostitutes, drugs, burglaries, etc. There are no handicap facilities at the marina except for two handicap parking places . Boat owners struggle to bring aboard supplies with no handicap ramp. The owner states that the business was grand-fathered in and does not have to have handicap facilities. To me this states the owners do not wish for disabled people to visit or live at their establishment without undue hardships.
