Gloucester Harbor |
Welcome to the Eastern Point Yacht Club, located on Gloucester's outer harbor, overlooking Lighthouse Cove and the Atlantic beyond. Founded in 1923 as a private club dedicated to yachting activities, EPYC has a rich racing tradition and offers the best access to the coastal waterways of the Northeast. The Club affords members and guests a truly unique location to dine and stay, as well as having function and special event capabilities.
Management very nice, great locker rooms. Appreciate being able to eat at bar. Only downside are said fisherman near all night and chop from fishing boats early in morning
Pool great, very clean, love a salt water pool. Nice showers, plenty of hot water. That was our pre ious visit. This time we were given a mooring very poorly marked with mooring pennants that were too short. I could only use one and had to attach a dock line to the second pennant. The pennants were chafed. Not acceptable when one must pay $100 per night.
Others have said rocky, but that’s an understatement. We are on a 40 ft. Catamaran and had to get up to re-secure items at one point, which very rarely happens. Staff was friendly and the area is beautiful.
Nice folks and all but the outgoing Gloucester fishing boat traffic began at 3AM and the rolling was relentless
Beautiful location at the entrance to Gloucester Harbor. Amenities include a pool, locker rooms with showers. lunch and dinner service. No slips, moorings only.
Great location and EPYC team!
It is a fabulous club and the people could not be nicer. One of our favorite stops when cruising the east coast.
Beautiful facility, very clean and well maintained. Linda, the launch driver was very helpful.
EPYC is very accommodating and friendly. We very much enjoyed our stay.
Launch service was prompt, but when we were there, stopped running at 6pm. Note that mooring field gets lots of wakes from fishing vessels from about 3am on.
Fantastic hospitality. Wonderful meal and best cocktails on the coast.
Facility, restaurant, and the personnel were all outstanding!
Beautiful club! The staff is friendly and welcoming. The facilities are clean and easily accessible. If it wasn’t for the extremely rollie mooring this would be a 5. Be prepared to roll, you may get 4 hours of calm between 2300-0300. I didn’t mention, excellent bar and restaurant.
Very helpful Dockmaster a d exceptional food and service at the beautiful Eastern Point YC
Fantastic location, great launch service, good food!
Beautiful club. Very good chef Great place to moor if rain is coming however once the fishing boats head out in the early am, the wakes cause major bouncing.
Very convenient, great welcome and a beautiful clubhouse and grounds. Would like to spend more time next visit!
Beautiful, tranquil, serene facility next to the lighthouse. Could not be more scenic. Staff was very accommodating. Mooring ball cost was reasonable and included all amenities, including use of the clubhouse restaurant and the pool. Our dinner there was exquisite. Could not recommend enough! I hope to stop here again and if I lived in the area I would join this club. Just beautiful.
It was a beautiful Marina would recommend and will come again
Eastern Point launch driver very helpful; as always, the mooring field provides a lot of motion, particularly early in the morning.
Beautiful Yacht club, very nice and friendly people. Strong free Wifi. At time pretty bouncy from passing by boats but not too bad. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is the cost that double from 4 years ago.
We pulled around 7 pm in on our way from Maine to CT. The launch service was not working, so we had to cancel our dinner reservation. Mooring price is $100 with limited service.
We hadn't been to the EPYC in a couple of seasons due to the pandemic but were glad we made the short trip. Everyone was friendly and helpful, a bit of a mix up on which mooring to grab but was quickly remedied. The launch runs until 10:00pm which worked out great for a 7:00pm dinner reservation. The pan seared scallops were superb. The YC itself is the quintessential New England Yacht Club with a beautiful covered porch and views of Boston in the distance. Just be aware this is very much a commercial fishing port and the fisherman steam out very early in the am, creating a pretty good wake in the mooring field.
Loved staying here during the shakedown cruise of our Kaiser Gale Force "Cygnus". Launch crew were all friendly, skilled, and professional. Location was superior, easy access to outer Mass Bay / Gulf of Maine. Club restaurant was tasty, and facilities were extremely well maintained. Will definitely stop in again on our way north.
Hiding from storm was good, but a rock and roll mooring field. Also lobster pots under the boat all night. Way over priced
Would not recommend this mooing field when it is blowing anywhere out of the north. Also, the guest mooring are at the very end of the break water. When leaving luckily I noticed a lobster pot under my transom just before my mate casted off the mooring. Could have been blown into the breakwater if it had got fouled. It wasn’t the only lobster pot in the mooring area. Can’t understand this.
The mooring itself was good and we were able to promptly pick it up when we arrived. Eastern Point Yacht Club had clear covid guidance on there website that transient moorings would not have access to the club on land facilities or launch service, and we understood this before making the reservation and found it reasonable given the circumstances. Eastern Point Yacht Club also indicates on their website that due to covid transient moorings would have access to 'curbside' dinner service brought from there kitchen to the boat via launch. This was our primary motivation for choosing Eastern Point Yacht Club for out mooring, and we confirmed this by phone before making our mooring reservation. Upon arriving on Monday night, however, we were told that the kitchen wasn't open on Mondays. This was very disappointing to us as this is not indicated by there website anywhere we could find, and it was not mentioned when we called by phone to confirm that this service would be available.
We’ve stayed there during our research project out in the Stellwagen Sanctuary for the past few years. Always friendly and attentive staff! Maybe we’ll be lucky enough to get a gift card next time! JB
Great location and friendly staff. Just be mindful that they do not offer launch service for transient moorings during the Covid pandemic.
The staff were friendly and professional. The launch driver was particularly helpful and informative. The grounds are very well kept, the pool was a wonderful relief on a warm day, and dinner outside was superb. Highly recommended.
Great experience overall. Definitely plan to return.
The Yacht Club is so accommodating, and the food is wonderful. A1 stop in Gloucester.
Excellent place - showers amazing. Dinner fantastic. Launch driver first class. All around fantastic. Only downside was some wake from boats entering and leaving the harbor during peak hours. Not an issue during the night.
This is an upper end yacht club. Beautiful, impeccable. Do not hesitate to stop here if you can. Launch service running late in the evening, very nice restaurant (dress code) and a bar restaurant (casual). We had dinner at the bar. The food was delicious. Many plates can be ordered in a smaller portion. The shower area is beautiful. They have a swimming pool. Now to visit downtown, you can take a taxi. $1300 to the waterfront. Do not miss it.
Eastern Point Yacht Club was wonderful. The people could not have been more friendlier. The dinner was excellent.
The facility and Resturant was wonderful, all the staff was very friendly. The wakes from the early morning fishing boats heading out starting at 4 am was unbearable
We were able to pick up a mooring at short notice during a very busy weekend. Thank you!
beautiful yacht club with very friendly and welcoming staff. We enjoyed our meals in their dining room. We stayed on a mooring and our only complaint would be that you need to be prepared for all the fishing boats going out early through the channel which is right in front of the mooring field. We got bounced around quite a bit with their wakes. Other than that, this was a wonderful stay! We hope to come back again for another visit!
Very nice. Good showers. Easy in and out of Gloucester. The whale watcher boats and others start early and leave substantial wakes -- sleep is interrupted after 5:00 am.
Stopped at EPYC on our way to Maine. Wonderful spot and great experience. Radio communication was excellent on the way in; moorings were in great condition, launch service very prompt, and the dining room and grounds were immaculate. Did I mention the food at the club was a match for good restaurants, not just a captive club membership? The mooring wasn't cheap at $50, but we felt it was good value given the quality of the experience.
Great location clean comfortable rooms Super service Good food Very friendly staff Thank you all
Great stay. Easy in and out. Pleasant staff and good food
Great perfect New England destination. Friendly and helpful staff, great pool, and good food. Only negative was the morring loops were too small for my large cleats.
Nice spot - great mooring with nice pick up buoy. Pendant like new. Good instructions from marina coming in. Only minor complaint is that when we got our confirmation on dockwa, we wrote back asking for instructions/ mooring assignment. No one replied.
