Drummond Island is a boater’s paradise, a meeting place for those traveling through Lake Huron, Lake Michigan and Lake Superior. It is just 35 miles from the famous Straits of Mackinac, Mackinac Bridge and Mackinac Island en route to Lake Michigan. On Drummond Island’s west side are the waters of the St. Mary’s River flowing out from Lake Superior. The famed North Channel into Canada’s Georgian Bay starts on the north side of Drummond Island.
Great and easy stop after clearing customs back to the US. Wonderful rates for AGLCA members and a discount on fuel, also. Small charge for pump out which was no big deal in my opinion. Several loaner cars available for use for a $25 charge. We did not utilize any mechanic/repair services, but they are a full service marina if needed. Laundromat is huge with commercial washers and dryers. So nice to have adequate facilities. Can be a bit chaotic if multiple boaters arrive at once as the basin is small. My advice: just wait outside until space is available. Another boater had an issue with an inebriated patron after hours and it was a bit disturbing, which is the reason for the four stars. I do not hold the marina responsible for others behaviors, but wish that there had been a better way to deal with this. We would stay again.
Amazing stay. Thank you for the borrow of the vehicle. Would come back again!
My favorite North Channel stop! Newer docks and electrical, great service and tons of amenities including a sand beach for the kids! They rent cars for $10.00 to get to a nearby, wonderful fine dining restaurant and beautiful 18 hole golf course. The outer islands surrounding the marina are easy to navigate and fun to explore--a true boater's paradise! Showers, laundry, fishing supplies, charts, gift shop, ice and mechanics on site.
Tradition makes a difference! Family-owned and operated since 1945. An Up North business where customer service is the number one priority.
