Report Review

East 55th marina has great docks at a reasonable price. The fellow boaters are all very friendly. August and Nick and the rest of the staff do a fine job. My family all feel safe and have a great time when there. My only concern is we keep hearing rumors someone in the administration wants to reconfigure the parking lot divorce it from the boats and docks and make it open to the public. We as boaters have trucks and trailers and equipment in our vehicles that would be vulnerable to theft and to be honest security is pretty lax as is. It would also jeopardize our boats and the expensive fishing and electronic gear. As I previously mentioned security is lax already. I routinely see 2 or 3 cars going thru the gate when 1 person uses their pass. It would not be a stretch of the imagination for people to jump over a fence to access the boats. Also I sleep on my boat at night at times and would be very concerned with my physical safety. I hope this is just a terrible rumor going around and not truth. This brings to mind a few years ago City of Cleveland hired a man named Wasserman to redevelop the Lake front his bright ideas would have ruined Cleveland. Luckily Cleveland realized this and got rid of him but had to pay him handsomely.Do not ruin east 55th marina it is one of the few gems we have on the Lake front. My family is already looking toward next season. If I could make one suggestion it would be nice to have 1 small boat ramp for the dock holders INSIDE the marina to launch small watercraft such as canoes, small boats, jet skis, etc. and not have to cross the open water as from 72nd st. ramp or Edgewater.
