The Lilypads by Kirby Marine are two floating docks located off the East side of Ft. Adams. Each dock is 35' by 6' with a white number on either end.
Since the docks are located in the mooring field, there is no power, water, or pump out (similar to a mooring). For launch service call Oldport Launch Service on Channel 68.
Contact us with any questions on the Dockwa app, emailing us at [email protected], or by phone at 401.847.0321.
Loved it! Dock is messy from the birds but there’s a broom there. Happy the boat on the other side of the dock was empty. 👍🏻
Love these Lilypads. Close to fort and easy launch access to town. Having a floating dock is very convenient Kirby communicates well and very accommodating.
Went here as all mooring balls booked for long weekend. Quiet part of the harbour. Birds vacated the dock as we arrived. A quick scrub down removed a lot of the smell, and birds don’t seem to come back while we occupy the dock. Launch service only every hour. On half hour going to downtown docks. It’s after long weekend now and lots of space to anchor in the harbour, which we’re going to do for the next 2 nights.
Great location and the rollers on the dock make it easy tie up. Only complaints are they need better markings on docks so you know where to go. Fortunately there were enough hints in past reviews to help find it (after tying up to a private dock.) Also lots of birds and their crap everywhere. That's why the 4 instead of 5 stars. But I would totally dock there again and will tell friends
Great location. When we arrived there were a few birds on the dock as expected. We quickly cleaned the dock with the wash down pump. Perfect! Put out the chairs and had a great weekend. We'll be back. Highly Recommend!
We love the location of the Lilypads and having extra space that the dock provides. It's a beautiful spot to watch and explore the harbor and swim. Only drawback are the seagulls and comerants. You will need some fishing lines or kites to keep them away.
Lillypad #6 is easy to get in and out of and has nice stainless steel cleats and it's in Newport, RI the whole reason I rented it. Happy to have rented it and will rent it again if I need to. I made a point to dock upwind after the first night because... The seagulls have found the dock. It smells a bit. They have pooped all over it. Dropped things on it to break them and eat them, like quohogs etc. I could have taken a bucket and brush to it and probably gotten the dock 80% clean but I left the boat every night because I was in Newport to race.
Floating docks near Fort Adams. These docks have 4 cleats per side and even rollers on the end. Very easy to tie up to and secure. Communication with the owner was very easy. To find it go east of Fort Adam's, past the docks. You will see a row of floating docks parallel to the land than a series of ones slightly angled, Lilypad6 had a big number 6 at the end and is the 3rd one in the row, directly in front of the white church.
'Kirby Marine' is simply a floating dock in the middle of the harbor. There are no services and or facilities. Nobody monitoring VHF or Dockwa App. You will need a dinghy. In my opinion, the price is not justified.
Kirby Maine has apparently a two sided floating dock and that’s it No phone or email showers or amenities. The price is twice what mooring companies charge.
