Dockhands we’re new and terribly inexperienced. I asked to which side of boat we should put lines. They did not understand current, and told us to come in from the wrong direction and wrong side. We told one dockhand to tie down the bow cleat, so we could bring in stern. Several times, he kept untying the bow line. The knot used on the cleat was not correct, and very difficult to untie.
Transient breakwater slips were very inadequate, boat ‘danced’ for two days from weather and wakes. Water splashed on our shoes and pants as we walked around. Inadequate lighting. One boat had a line across the dock to an outside cleat. We almost tripped over it.
We never used any part of the resort (pool, etc), so the resort fee was wasted money.
