The facility is beautiful and Dockmaster Johnny is fantastic, he truly goes above and beyond to assist his boating patrons. Definitely a pleasant experience. Thank you!
This marina is always a great place to stay with excellent service both at the fuel dock and when docking. I have stayed here many times and never been disappointed with the service.
Marina and staff are top notch. The location close to the ocean saves me valuable time as a delivery captain. It’s my go-to marina in Charleston.
Fantastic marina! The staff were great getting us on and off the dock in the strong current. The bar on site was a blast. We hope to stay longer next time.
Transient docks very far from hotel. Long walk with gear.
I stayed here on my catamaran from July 30th through August 21st. The dock/marina staff are top-notch!! Helpful, knowledgeable, friendly. The resort amenities are great to have although even at the monthly rate a bit expensive ($3400). Having pool access was nice and the three restaurants onsite were all really good. This marina also has a water taxi that makes going to the downtown area of Charleston easy. Lots of restaurants and other activities are close by (walking/bicycle), or Uber. Some things I would change: 1. don't charge for laundry 2. Have pool attendants walking around to take orders (drinks/food). Missed opportunity here! 3. Have use of a car/truck for necessary short trips in local area. I'm only adding this because of the rates charged here for docking...if you want to be a 5 star marina, then this should be included SV Maggie Bleu
Great pool, shuttle and water taxi into Charleston. Dock staff helpful and nice
The stay was fantastic. I asked for a good slip to watch the Fireworks in Charleston Harbor and the dock master Andy gave me the best slip possible. The fireworks show was great. Great support and great marina. We enjoyed dinner at the Fishhouse and also spent several days at the pool and Tiki bar. We will be back!!!!
All was good ! Just wish it wasn’t so far to hotel but all around good!
Marina staff was very helpful and courteous. The facilities were very nice. Complimentary shuttles to downtown and water taxi access. Arrive during slack tide for safest experience.
staff was great and very accomodating . Facilities are very nice. when i return i will go here first
As always Marina is gorgeous and has the best amenities, dined at both restaurants, live music as well. Beautiful pools and fire pits. OFF-SITE is the Yorktown and battleship. Much to do here
A very nice resort marina with excellent dock hands. They know how to handle boats in the current that runs through there
This was the perfect place to rest and recuperate after a long sail. The staff is friendly and helpful and access to the resort pool, hot tub and fire pits made the price worth it. Our dog loved how many grassy areas there were to walk around. And the restaurants are great.
Once again, thrilled by the very professional, friendly and helpful Dock & Office staff! Upon arrival had assist from both Johnny & Andy. They were exceptionally patient, working with us on our departure, reinforcing daylight & slack current. Andy also assisted us with exiting slip. We really enjoyed the amenities of the resort, especially the free shuttle into downtown Charleston. We look forward to our next visit!
Enjoyed our stay. Found slip for dinghy close to exit as it’s hard to walk
If you want to find the best dock master this is your Marina. Amazing staff and accommodations. Dock Master, Johnny will make your stay a wonderful experience.
Great location and even better resort amenities.
Very helpful staff, great amenities, complimentary shuttle and loved Charleston!
Dock master was great. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Clean facilities and well kept dock.
This is a difficult review because of needing to rate the resort as well as marina. First, the marina-very helpful staff, good location, nice tiled showers lacking a place to put soap, etc with no easy changing area, and a long hike to your slip of which only a 2/3 is lite at night. The resort has bus service for Charleston, but two out of three days the hot tub was not hot and the heated pool was cool. Getting packages from Amazon also took an extra day because of the way deliveries are handled.
Our home port since 2019 and still our top choice. Best amenities including restaurants, adequate showers, rest rooms, shuttle services, dock hand support, fuel dock, pet areas, and situated in the most beautiful natural setting. Absolutely come and go on slack tides and call ahead for docking assistance. Be patient as they are in high demand at these times. You must plan ahead while in Charleston. Yes it is expensive, exposed to a few really bad storms annually and not perfect all the time. Dock carts are often in short supply and the pump out boats are often broken. At times they seem under staffed, maintenance of the docks, rest rooms and laundry facilities are a constant challenge. This is not Disneyland folks. The management staff and personnel are above average and pleasant to work with. Golf cart service from the parking lot to the docks would be a nice addition. Upgraded showers, rest rooms and a laundry room like the St Johns Yacht marina would also be nice.
The Dockmaster was very helpful! We stayed through a bad storm, and felt very safe- loved the amenities, especially the restaurant and free shuttle to downtown!
Been my home port for years. Great service and amenities
Docks and staff are outstanding. Tidal currents can be a challenge so entering at slack tide is highly recommended. Traffic can produce some rocking but not too bad if you aren't on the wall. Restrooms are nice and showers are OK with plenty of hot water. Not alot of room to dress and no seating in the shower. A free shuttle runs 2PM to 10 to downtown.
I don’t understand why the pier’s have no marking of a, b, c or d. For the size of the marina I found this to make mooring a pain in the ass.
All of the toilets in the men's bathroom were clogged on Saturday when we arrived. I advised the Marina of the situation. When we left on Monday, the toilets were either clogged again or never fixed. I had to constantly walk up to the resort to use the men's bathroom. Also the showers were very cramped. There was no room to put your dry belongings except to hang everything on hooks.
Great dock hands, professional staff, called prior to arrival for special alerts and instructions, great food
The Marina was fantastic. The facilities were always clean. Most important the staff was welcoming, respectful and friendly. They were always willing to help with anything in their scope of capability or provide a resource if it was outside of their scope of capability.
Ben was a great help in finding us a spot for the 72’ boat and we enjoyed a great dinner and now a lay day due to weather , enjoying the hot tub and pool. This has always been my 1st choice in Charleston!! Thanks so much!! Capt. Glenn Bregman M/Y Mas’ Pura Vida 72 Azimut
Marina was very nice, unfortunately our card key for showers only controlled 2 of the 4 showers, and one of the showers had no light. So for a marina with hundreds of boat only 1 shower was accessible for us to use. Food at Fish house was marginal, halibut dry and hard. The facilities are very nice, jacuzzi was large and hot. After 425nm just wanted a nice shower, I let the Admiral use the accessible one and I showered on the boat, running short on time for dinner reservations.
Fabulous! Shuttle to downtown every hour. Great resort facilities offered to transients! Competent and friendly dock help! Wish we could have stayed longer.
Nice marina. Great people. Austin was very helpful advising us on the current and docking when we arrived.
Very helpful staff, free shuttle to downtown Charleston. Nice docks. Be aware that the current comes through the marina very fast, so time your arrival for slack tide. My only gripes: 1) It’s a long walk to the showers from north end of the marina. Another one out the dock would be great. 2) the laundry machines use an app that doesn’t work well and wants lots of access to your phone. My suggestion would be to replace the system with contactless payment, which would be secure and easy. Overall, though, very good place.
Great option in Charleston Harbor. Dock hands are very helpful. Remember to arrive during slack tide as this is when the marina allows you to enter and tie up.
Great stay. Dock hand Harper was accommodating and made the stay easy. Onsite restaurant was convent and food was good.
This facility is in a sad state of repair. Understaffed. Electric power and pedestals in poor condition. Breakers blew 3 times. Had to use 150 foot extension cords to reach a working pedestal. Helpful young dockhands. Needs management attention and some capital investment
We arrived later than expected. Dockhand was hard to reach on phone and VHF. We had called earlier to inform Charleston Harbor Marina we would be getting in about 7:00 PM, they said someone would be there all night. Someone was, but not answering phone or VHF for quite sometime. Did not realize the walk to the end of the docks would be more than five minutes to parking lot. Long walk, but got in lots of steps on my stepper counter.
Great facilities and excellent dock hands who were very helpful, especially when we found ourselves with fog rolling in on our departure.
Dock hand, Austin, was amazing! Knew exactly how to assist us in docking with Charleston’s serious current. Also, very professional and personable.
Very nice marina with great pool , hot tubs , and fire pits . Johnny the person whom helped us with fuel and slip placement was fantastic with a terrific personality . The only slight ding I give the marina is the price of the fuels at 5.59 for diesel
Very friendly and professional. The current in the marina is no joke though.
The dock hand, Austin was the best we’ve encountered on our trip south. Resort is nice but you are paying a hefty daily fee for it. Communication and clarification of pricing is poor between the marina and Dockwa.
Nice Marina. Easy in and easy out. Dock hads are great
Dockmaster Johnny What a Prince.! Not just thoughtful. … smart .. Gave us great advice on all things important.. particularly the southern departure through Wappoo Creek gut. Thank you
Beautiful marina, lots of amenities, knowledgeable staff to assist with docking.
Great Dockmaster! And very helpful with our overnight stay.
Great stay, they accommodated us after a 35 hour sail and late reservation request. Clean and safe. Dockmaster was outstanding.
Docking crew was extremely helpful and courteous.
Dockmaster is FANTASTIC. He could not have been more prompt with dock line, fuel or anything else we might need. He has the understanding that we do have to work to be cruisers and it is not all drinks and sunset.
Everyone is very nice but our slip was missing a critical cleat and the power panel was broken. After we docked and tied up and ran our power and water lines we had to undo all and move to another slip. This does happen here and there but the fuel price and the slip price were both the highest on our whole 1100 mile trip.
The staff was very pleasant and extremely helpful.
awesome as usual! great people, great staff, and awesome amenities.
Fantastic marina with great staff. Amenities are excellent.
We stayed here on our 44’ sailboat for 4 weeks in July-August 2023. Great marina! The entire staff, from Dockmaster John Smith on down, were always most helpful and courteous. They run a tight ship and we felt like VIPs at every interaction. Everyone was highly responsive, whether on the VHF, telephone or in person. Excellent follow up and follow through. Dockmaster John is a longtime local boater and spent a lot of time with us to make sure we had the proper knowledge to safely navigate this harbor. On the day of our departure, the current was running swiftly. John offered to help, but we declined as we thought we could easily exit the slip on our own. When we were preparing to back out of the slip, John came over in his runabout and sprang into action to help us. Turns out we did need his help under the tricky conditions, and so glad he showed up out of nowhere to guide and help us. We highly recommend Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina. The resort pool and other amenities, Patriots Point and the restaurants and bars right there, and free shuttle downtown are the icing on the cake. But as boaters, it’s John and the marina dock staff that impressed us the most.
Wow! Dock Master Johnny and staff are fantastic! They helped us in and out of our slip. The strong current is newer to us and their advice and professionalism made it easy. They even helped us bring our new anchor chain from our truck to the boat! Our extended stay included the use of the pools, hot tub, restaurant, bars, fitness center and free shuttle to downtown Charleston. All top notch. The showers, bathroom and laundry facilities were useable but below standard for all of the other beautiful amenities available. To upgrade I think, for the dockers, there should be at least 2 full size bathrooms which would include shower, toilet, sink, hooks and bench. 😃 (Paper towels in all bathrooms would help keep it neater too) We would definitely stay again! Thanks for a wonderful stay! Linda & Joe
Charleston Harbor Marina offers all the amenities you need, what makes this marina stand out for me was the people. John the dock master was outstanding as well as the others I had the pleasure of dealing with. Everyone was extremely helpful and attentive to all my needs. Lots of nice marinas along the way but for me the people make the place! Capt. Marty Siren
We stayed for 5 days recently at this marina. Very nice with great amenities. Johnny is the dock master and was a pleasure to work with. He made sure we were taken care of with advice on catching bait and where to fish. Will visit again, highly recommend.
Great! The guys on the dock were super and Olivia was VERY HELPFUL!!
Everything was nice. Fuel, ice, and bait easily accessible.
We stayed at the marina for 6 days and as always, everything was relaxing. Pool, free shuttle downtown, band on Friday night and reasonable meals. The stay was awesome and we will be back again in the future.
very good stay, dock hands were very helpful. Could use more dock carts, they were a little hard to come by. Also would have liked to have an option to dock a little closer to the hotel we were staying in .
We requested a slip close to the showers and we got that.
Excellent dock hand who was truly helpful, this is unusual! Very nice facility.
Good experience at the marina, but not impressed with the food at the Fishhouse
Excellent COMMUNICATION AND EXPERT HELP IN EVERY WAY
Great. Guys at fuel dock were helpful, and clear prompt informative on the slip location and use.
Very nice marina easy to get in and out. With the fuel dock being east to access as well.
Everything went smoothly. Very impressed with the service and this marina. We will be back!
Charleston Harbor Marina is always a great stay. We stop by at least once a year and the experience is always perfect. Love CHRM!! Thanks for allowing us to visit, as we say in the south, "we appreciate you".
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Can’t say enough good things about the fuel dock crew!
Great spot, good food, nice pools, helpful marina staff!
We always enjoy this marina; however, this time our account was double-charged by Dockwa. Not sure how this happened and the same thing happened to another boater in our group. Fortunately we caught the error and I am hopeful that it is now all straightened out.
Enjoyed my stay staff was excellent and resort was as well. Definitely will return
Excellent and knowledgeable staff!! The current is strong and come in at slack tide!! Johnny is super knowledgeable!! M/V Emmylou
Quick trip but everything went as planned and booking was simple
Staff very helpful . Helped us with information on several issues.
This is my third visit and once again the facility was very professional with plenty of Dock hands to help you into your slip while the current is running. First I came into the fuel dock, got my fuel and pump out right there. I was give clear instructions how to get to my slip and there was plenty of help waiting. Shower and laundry was very accessible.
It was a nice stay but the litter box (for the catamarans or large vessels) can be a little rough during weather and a long walk to the showers! During a storm you have to wear your rain gear to get to the marina. We did love the shuttle for downtown and the fire pits and pool.
My stay was excellent, the guys from the fuel dock were very nice and very good service, as well as the restaurant with its excellent food. Thank you
I am a big fan of this marina. The docs are floating in well-maintained. Access to the resort facilities, including a Very Nice Pool, a couple good bars and Resturants on site are all a big plus considering the location. As well as access to Chatleston via the free resort shuttle. And most everything you may need for boat or crew is available within a short Lyft or Uber ride in Mount Pleasant. The staff is first-rate! Johnny the Harbor Master, a former commercial tug pilot, is extremely knowledgeable and heads up a tight crew dedicated to being as helpful as possible. The only suggestion I would make is that paper towel dispensers be installed in the heads. It’s a bit difficult after shaving, to dry your face with the Dyson hand dryer that points down. Instead, you end up using all of the Kleenix that they have out.
The marina was very nice. The dockmaster worked with us even though we arrived early due to weather. The staff met us at the dock and helped secure the boat during strong winds and tides.
We had an extended stay to get some work done. The marina staff were friendly and very receptive to our needs. We did not mind the walk from the K dock to the facilities (shower/laundry/restrooms) because it is just beautiful there! The dock was very well protected from waves and weather. The ability to take a shuttle to downtown Charleston made visiting this beautiful area easy. Good access to multiple areas in Mount Pleasant as well.
I take one star off due to the lousy weather, otherwise just fine.
Service was non existent. Bathrooms were locked and out of order for marina and showers were closed, until we pursued to get open. Marina is very big and hard to get around marina was closed at 6.
This was our second time staying here and I recommend it highly! The staff are excellent and so professional and the slips and amenities make it tempting to sit by the pool instead of enjoying all that Charleston has to offer. We had to change our departure date due to weather and they were super accommodating and refunded us fully with a smile. We also had something delivered to the marina office from downtown and it got lost and the staff went out of their way to find it with a smile on their face! Can’t recommend this place enough. (Oh, and there’s a free hourly shuttle from the marina to downtown Charleston every hour)
Interior slips on A and B Fock unprotected from SE swells. No working pump out except on the fuel dock. LONG walk to land and dog walk. Great free shuttle to Charleston. Attentive Staff.
The dock master was great and got us right in- which we genuinely appreciated since we had a tough 24 hour sail. In the office the staff gave us a run down of all services available and gave us a welcome bag! The marina and campus was neat and clean. Showers are great! We had to go to West Marine and the marina was a short Uber ride away. Really convenient to town. One of the best parts of our stay was access to the resort - which meant we could relax in the pool and get a beverage brought to us poolside. We will definitely come back to this marina when we pass through again. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Thank you !!
Very professional and friendly marina staff. Great quality facilities. We had nice fireside chats ashore with other guests. Very nice place to chill for a few days. Good value, will come back again.
Greatly appreciated we got a slip at last moment. I did not realize how big the marina is and our slip assessment was way too far away for me to get to shore or the amenities. Very nice Dock hand but needed additional training
Charleston Harbor Marina is a nice marina, the dock master and dock hands are excellent; however, the price is high and I still don't know why I was charged a "resort fee", I got nothing for it.
As before - great time and place. Low key, great staff and amenities. Thank you. Also great to see a few improvements since my last visit. See you next year. Dave Cranston, Newport RI
Great staff. Helpful on dock as well as package deliveries. Downtown shuttle is welcomed back.
The marina is adjacent to 2 resort hotels and you are charged a resort fee which was added to the $3/ft. The current here is intense and they encourage you to arrive at slack tide. Staff was great but other than that, not worth the cost.
Very nice except the only showers were almost a half-mile away. Somewhat remote for walking anywhere.
We winter here a few months every year. The Marina is very well run. The dock master is one of the most professional mariners I have ever met. He most likely forgot more about running boats than most people ever knew. The management and support staff are great. The amenities that come with the resort fee are fun and enjoyable and if you take advantage of them well worth the price. We will be back next year and looking forward to it.
The stay was good. However fuel was extremely overpriced and the slip that the staff provided for us had no shore power. When we asked to move they were unable to provide us with a slip that did have shore power.
Nice staff Policy of paying resort fee on a slip for a boat with no liveaboard features on the outermost dock with no electricity is unfair; especially when the entire crew also has rooms at the hotel where we pay resort fees on every room as well. Food options are limited and budget extra time when eating at the main restaurant.
Loved this "new to us" marina. Hid there from high seas for 4 nights, but was glad we chose this location. Beautiful new showers, ladies room, nice laundry facilities & a water taxi and free shuttle bus across the river. Multiple restaurants, pool, beach area, etc. Excellent dock staff w easy fueling behind the breakwater. Across from the Charleston waterfront. Will be back.
Very organized. They had our bag waiting with our name on it.
Beautiful marina in an awesome area! Only wish was to have a BBQ grill available for use. Otherwise, top notch!
It was Awesome at Charleston Harbor Resort marina. Fantastic views, courteous and friendly Staff. We used the free shuttle to downtown multiple times. Toured the Yorktown and Liffey destroyer. I enjoyed the use of the fitness center, and the bike path to grocery stores… Whole Foods, Harris Teeter and Walgreens.\nWe will return here again!!
MV The Boys' Inheritance, we always stay at Charleston Harbor Marina when in Charleston! The location is great! Away from the hustle of downtown Charleston but easily accessible if Charleston is your thing. Mostly, Johnny and his staff are courteous, friendly, and always do their best to make our stays wonderful! Facilities are top notch and Marina guest have access to resort facilities as well!
Great staff, fire pits, hot tub, heated pool, clean facilities. Had a great time at trivia night.
It is a very smart marina. We entered at slack tide and the staff were very helpful and a good place to dock out of the passing traffic and tides. Only slight issues are the very small shower cubicles which seemed out of keeping with the standard of the slips and prices charged, and the dog poop on the main outer slip where we were docked. Sadly we were busy with boat tasks and no time to use the hot tub and pool. Also we’d read that there was a shuttle to the grocery store and west marine but alas no longer. However shuttle into Charleston was running in the afternoon/evening and very convenient to use to get into the historical district.
At the Marina the docks are long! So the bathrooms, showers, laundry and getting anywhere is a long walk. The showers are small and stark, no where to put your things or sit to get dressed. You are required to pay a $38 resort fee, which basically gives you access to a pool and hot tub, which was closed one of the two days we were there. There were solo fire \"pits\" set up, which could be nice if you have the gumption to use them. It is a mile and half walk to supermarket and I saw a whole foods as we exited the market. The shuttle will only take you down town Charleston (not the market) and no dogs allowed on the van. Everyone was nice.
Dock hands were very helpful, the docks were in good shape and the facilities were great.
The only reason for not 5 stars is the bathrooms were filthy. In six days they were not cleaned nor resupplied, no toilet paper, hand towels and trash all over the floor because the trash containers were never emptied.
The marina is physically attractive, but poorly maintained. Only 1 of 4 showers were functional, and of the 2 toilets in each of the men's and women's, 1 was clogged in each and unusable and none of them had toilet paper. I may have missed it in advance, but there was an additional $76 resort fee. The marina has a very strong tidal current making both maneuvering challenging and much movement during the night. I will say that the dock master was very helpful with assisting with when and how to minimize the docking difficulties.
The marina is convenient to provisioning with Uber servicing the area. It’s also close the Charleston with water taxi service and an afternoon / evening shuttle from the hotel. The marina is large with one bathroom, shower and laundry facility. Depending on your slip location it can be 1/4 mile or longer walk. We were not able to use the services associated with the mandatory resort fee because of the long walk. However we would return but ask for a closer slip.
The marina was very nice however we were charged a significant rate for dockage and on top of that was a $35 \"Resort Fee\" as well as electric. The resort fee was not optional, and since we arrived at dark and left early the next morning there was no opportunity to use any of the resort facilities. We certainly got plenty of exercise as the F dock we were at was very close to half mile from the resort, restrooms and any of their facilities.\n\nThe current was a challenge both getting in and out of the slip, but the dock hands were willing to come to assist when I was leaving. The dock hands use bicycles to get to the slips as the distances are that great.\n\nI would be willing to stay there again if they made the resort fee optional.
We have been stopping here since 2013 and I am always impressed by the professionalism of the staff and the constant improvements to the marina/resort facility. Charleston Harbor Marina is a mandatory stop for us as we transit up and down the coast and the staff is always there to help us with any challenges. We can not say enough good about the marina. Thanks for another great stay!! Sea Tiger, Leopard 48
Staff were friendly, professional. Beautiful location. The showers we had access to were limited number, far away and “unusual” in that they were tiny and separate from the rest room. We did have some confusion about the pump out associated with the resort fees-had to call 3x- seemed to be a communication and process problem. Staff did help find a part we needed and Cory was great to deal with on installation and evaluating the problem. Thanks to all
We stayed one night arrived after dark, we had two elderly people departing the boat upon arriving, the dock is very long and dark. There are many tripping hazards and missing handrails along the way. I would like to see that improved. The people at the Marina and resort where very helpful and friendly. We will go back.
The team at CHM are terrific. Johnny and his dock crew were especially helpful. We arrived a few days post-Ian and was impressed by how quickly they were making dock repairs after a major wind event. Great team, we will be back!
Very helpful dock, fuel, and pump out personnel. Dock manager Johnny was great to us. Valuable info. Will stay again.
Fuel was off the chart as most expensive at $7.10/gallon…….average on ICW $5.56
This is one of the best marinas on the east coast. The staff is outstanding. The pools are incredible. And there is plenty to explore with the Aircraft carrier and battleship right there. If you stop here, be sure to get a bucket. They have the best buckets you will ever find anywhere.
Everything was very good except the power. Low voltage makes for very expensive repairs on boats. Staff was great and very helpful.
Great Marina, super friendly competent service. Very Expensive fuel.
Arrogant unhelpful dock attendants, very expensive- to get electricity you must also purchase “resort package” for $63. Tiny showers with no shelves or seats. Will anchor out next time.
The marina staff were awesome. We were there thru Hurricane Ian. Rand, Johnny and team were on the docks doing what they could to help the boaters and boats thru the entire ordeal. A testament to their commitment to their customers. We will definitely return!
Apologies for being so late in posting this review. We made an early June detour from our Key West to Cape Cod offshore passage due to anticipated weather issues around Cape Hatteras. Although they were essentially full with back to back events, the marina was able to accommodate us for the 3 nights we needed to wait out the weather, re-provision, drop off a crew member, and make a few repairs before heading back out to finish the sail north. Johnny, Jason and their dock staff were very professional and wonderful to work with. The overall property, open to marina guests, was as nice as any you will find. We did get a fair number of steps in when going from the boat to the shore facilities but we wrote that off as being good exercise. If you are there on a Friday night, a local band puts on a great show at the outdoor beach bar stage. It draws an all ages crowd of locals as well as the guests at the hotel and marina. I highly recommend Charleston Harbor Marina to fellow boaters.
Everyone was VERY accommodating! Would stay there again in a heart beat!
Nice marina & staff. Hotel & facilities are top notch. Only issue is they double dip on resort fees if you also stay at hotel with marina dockage.
After a 4 weeks trip between Plattsburgh NY and Charleston, we can say that this marina is the one we preferred of all of those we stopped. As soon as we arrived at the service dock, we were greeted by a great team. The dock master was waiting for us there to let us know of the risks of docking at our reserved dock during the tide and he offered us plenty of options as well as his help (and his team). Everything was done according to his advice allowing us to dock and leave the next morning in safety. The support received from the dock master and his team was impressive. And what about the site. Everything is solid, clean and well located. A spectacular site. We greatly appreciated having access to the pool at the resort. Everything is so beautiful and pleasant. We felt on vacation for the short time we spent there. Definitely we will come back to it in the future.
I run a 85ft Catamaran. I spend 3,5 months at the marina. Was absolutely amazing. One of my best marinas so far. Great staff and great amenities that I was able to use as well. Pools, hot tubs, gym, restaurants, tiki bar and reel bar. Free shuttle to downtown Charleston. I was able to have my chill live in the resort. Couldn't ask for more. Thank you to you all.
Your staff made up for the lack of dock amenities. Look forward to the replacement South Seawall Dock.
First, when I arrive and hailed them on the radio, they never responded. So I went to the fuel dock. When I mentioned I was hailing them they responded, we heard you. Shouldn't they have responded? My boat is 28 ft. Got charged for 33 ft minimum, resort fee, which the hotel also charges, and for power even if I did not use it. Called the number the marina gave me at check in, for getting a pump out for the waste. They said go online they did not know the cost. Looking at their paperwork found it is suppose to be complementary. Went to have it done, they said it did not work. they did not help, or even offer to help me or the other 3 boats who came with me, to dock since the wind was blowing strong. Only seen young, untrained kids as dock hands. NEEDS BETTER MANGEMENT AND MORE STAFF.
The dock master Rand was a 10 out of 10, truly superb, BUT the facilities are poorly maintained. The marina dock hands are not very effective. The staff that rent the boats are a disgrace- hoses left across the docks, garbage was strewn by their shed while three of them sat in chairs- no pride in what they do. The rental group is not part of the marina but they leave a terrible impression of the marina as a whole. When I suggested they should take some pride in what they do the three of them were unmotivated to address any of the issues- garbage was in the same place three hours later. Back to the premises themselves- resort fee is a way of charging more for little incremental value if any, very long walk from A dock to anywhere, water floods over the docks as boats pass by, the docks are covered with debris from the river, poor lighting and deck plates missing leaving holes two feet deep (a leg breaker for sure) - although the staff told us they are in the middle of upgrading the docks and facilities- be aware that at the moment the marina is very underwhelming. Location requires a rent a car, no shuttle provided.
Update: I spoke with the Marina manager and he was very gracious taking my feedback and took steps to make things right- much appreciated, looking forward to giving this marina another shot in the future. Nice marina good location. The staff seemed surprised at my arrival, put me in another persons slip… moved me to the corner of the marina where all the trash accumulates.
Terrible marina, not protected , dock is always wet from waves braking on top. Exposed screws on side of my slip, exploded my fender and ruined my gel coat.
Unfortunately I am unable to provide a 5 star review for my most recent stay. We booked the slip for 3 nights and upon arrival we hailed in to retrieve our slip number, the slip was provided and appropriate for our vessel, but the following day our slip was in use once we returned back to the marina from dinner. We were unable to contact any appropriate personnel at the marina to determine where we should dock therefore spoke to some near by vessels who stated we would be fine here and to run our power across the dock until the dock crew could handle the next day. We did have management of the resort also send an email to notify the dock master of our displacement. The following day we returned to our vessel to find someone cut our power off losing our refrigerated goods and breastmilk along with our regular milk for our two children. As I'm sure everyone now understands the level of frustration since our only form of transportation is our boat which we traveled roughly 4 and half hours on. We continued to do our part my calling into the dock master who eventually we spoke to that afternoon. (The owners of the slip retuened unexpectedly) He was very professional, concerned and accommodating when we were able to finally speak with him. I appreciate his mannerisms and tactful response but unfortunately what had been done had already been done and the frustration that these events caused and the loss of what is my child's food source was very disheartening and disappointing. A short planned vacation turned into a stressful communication catastrophe and I can only hope that the dock master and dockwa plan to make these not so perfect events right. In the events that are taking place today unfortunately this trip led me to cry over spilt milk.
We had called the Marina to ask about having things sent to us there. They said absolutely, no problem. 3 USPS packages not accepted by the Marina. Marina manager said USPS is worthless and had not delivered anything. However their dockhand gave us the delivery notices of the attempted delivery. I had to go to the post office and was told “take an Uber”. 40.00. The docking for catamarans is over 1/3 of a mile from the office and showers. Showers are clean but very small. They have an added charge of $38.00/day “resort fee” above the dockage cost. Their shuttle is not running during the posted hours and will not make the advertised grocery store or West marine run. Tiki bar and pool are nice but a long walk
This marina is the worst on the east coast. I've made the trip from FL to NY four times over the past two years and there is not a single marina that comes close to being as bad as this one. From reading the other reviews, it is clear the problems are ongoing and mostly the same. You would be a FOOL to ignore what fellow boaters state on this page. The staff at the marina is filled with punky kids who have no idea what they are doing. They don't answer the radio, they assign slips that are too small for the boat size, and there is no sense of urgency whatsoever (even amid a horrible storm). I'll spare the ugly details, but in short: if you don't want to avoid damage to your boat, and if you prefer not boil your blood by having to deal with everything from poor docking conditions, to broken electrical stations, water feeds not working, and complete incompetence from wise ass kids working as dock hands, then go somewhere else. To punch it home, if I had to choose between anchoring in the harbor and going the night without power, or dishing out money to this marina, I would anchor in the harbor without second guessing myself. Stay far away!
I have a 25’ center console. I just needed a place to park for the weekend. I checked out in Dockwa and the price was $161. I was then charged $75 for an electrical fee. I called because I don’t need electricity, they did not care. So the price was now $236. They would not allow a cancel. I arrived the first night at my slip and it was already taken. I went to the dock master and it took about 45 minutes and we eventually told him to please text us our new slip number because we were going to dinner. I got no text so I texted him. He texted me a slip number. I got to that slip after dinner and it was taken as well. I just parked in a random open spot. Then the fresh water did not work so I could not rinse and flush my boat. I was fed up and just left. I got there the next morning and someone had moored up on my boat and scratched the side. The left their rope on my boat. They also tracked a bunch of mud across it. Of course I could not rinse it off because there is no water. I asked when the water would be fixed and they said by the evening. It was not. Got there that evening and my slip was taken AGAIN, pulled into another also no water. I was so frustrated I left and went to a different marina. I asked the dock boys if I could get some type of refund or something, of course nothing that anyone can do about anything. I won’t be back.
Great marina and fantastic dock staff. Have stayed herr twice now when passing through and will stay again..
This place is AWESOME!!! Full use of the resort, and a very friendly helpful staff!! Great location and a resort atmosphere! What more could you ask for!!
They added a $38 resort fee that was mandatory because we were a transient boat. They don't tell you until you are checking in. It's simply bait and switch. It is recorded as electric on your invoice I assume to disguise it (I never hooked up to electric). Go find a better place.
Beautiful resort with pools, bars and great facilities. The marina is a little run down and the walk from the boat to the resort is very long. Also, the marina management is not good. In November in terrible conditions they put us in a slip with one fender width between us and the dock and one fender width between us and the 80’ Hatteras next to us (no piling). This week (early June) they put us in a slip that we literally didn’t fit in to. My wife told the dockhands it was too narrow but they said it was okay, but going in we literally touched the dock and the boat next to us and had to go out and get a new slip. Keep in mind too that the outside “A” dock is very rough and routinely gets waves/wakes crashing over it. Dockhands are very friendly and try their best but they are not trained. Tried it twice, love the resort and free shuttle to town but not going back.
2nd visit here - always a pleasure. Staff / dock hands are 1st rate. EVERYONE you encounter is polite & helpfukl. Cant say enough good things about this place....
Dockhands we’re new and terribly inexperienced. I asked to which side of boat we should put lines. They did not understand current, and told us to come in from the wrong direction and wrong side. We told one dockhand to tie down the bow cleat, so we could bring in stern. Several times, he kept untying the bow line. The knot used on the cleat was not correct, and very difficult to untie. Transient breakwater slips were very inadequate, boat ‘danced’ for two days from weather and wakes. Water splashed on our shoes and pants as we walked around. Inadequate lighting. One boat had a line across the dock to an outside cleat. We almost tripped over it. We never used any part of the resort (pool, etc), so the resort fee was wasted money.
Nice facility, dockhands very green and need to be taught current and to do what the Captain of the docking boat tells them. When Cappy says "cleat that line", cleat it, and wait till Cap says something else. Don't release it as I am trying to pull against it. Very rocky marina,
We had to alter our schedule to arrive at 6:30 PM to arrive near slack current, as I now see it would be dangerous not to. We were traveling with another boat and were told when we reserved the slips we would both be on A dock. Upon arrival, I was assigned a slip on B, but when I got there, it was occupied. I requested a different slip, but got no reply. The current and wind was still challenging but we were able to get back to the main fairway while dodging 2 other boats. Meanwhile, our buddy boat was assigned a slip on C dock, and it also was occupied when they got there. They left the marina and circled in the harbor for about a half hour, while the marina shuffled slips. The boat that was in our assigned B dock slip departed, and we were instructed to return. It takes a $14 + tip ferry to get to Charleston. At the end of the day, one ferry boat (a big pontoon) apparently couldn't dock at their usual slip on A, and went to an assigned slip on B. Later, when walking the dock, I heard a gentleman asking the ferry captain how long the ferry would be in his slip. This mismanagement, the required use of Dockwa, and a sign on the stairs to the office stating "No admittance" tells me that marina management is inadequate or non existent. Would not recommend.
The boys who checked us in were great! Very knowledgeable and super great kids! I found the dock site we were at was pretty remote unfortunately and fairly rocky. Otherwise great resort :)
Nice dock facilities, easy access to water taxi and sights to see (USS Yorktown!), good bars and restaurant, nice staff.
Staff is great and the marina resort is beautiful. Very accessible to Charleston via the water taxi, which leaves right from the marina. However it is very exposed to the harbor so if you have strong winds or currents it can be difficult to maneuver
We had an extremely long walk to the dock that we were at. We were all the way by the museum ship. The docks are not all labeled and the lighting on the dock is very bad. We had to use the light from our phone at night when we were walking on the dock. The showers are basically not usable. With only a shower stall and no place to put your dry clothes or towel, it is very difficult to take a shower. A hook to hang a bag of clothes is not enough.
The Marina has fantastic facilities, nice floating concrete docks, showers, bathrooms, laundry, pools, restaurants, and of course access to the lovely city of Charleston. The one negative was the outer slips where they put the transient boats tend to be a bit rolly depending on wind and tide.
Great staff. Johnny help guide me in when the tide was running. We will be back
Took some skill getting into the slip, lots of current. Very busy port with cruise ships and container ships. You get some wake and rocking. Charge for amenities, 3 pools, beach, lots of games on premises and kids activities
We are very happy in Charleston. A great spot
The facilities are great and the marina staff are amazing
Great service at the dock by Johnny and his crew. Knowledgeable and helpful with advice on the current. There was a resort fee associated with getting power which was pretty steep. Worse, the shower situation at the dockhouse was bizarre. Tiny closet showers, no bench or really room to change, and all the showers opened up into a public laundry room. For the dough you have to pay them for a resort fee I thought it would be higher quality.
Amazing service and amenities. Although the marina is quite big, the staff will go out of their way to help out. Amazing resort facilities including pool, 2 restaurants, store and tiki deck. Ferry ride to downtown Charleston or 10 minute Uber ride. As an ad on bonus you get to see the carrier Yorktown which is on the same dock.
Great, professional staff helped with docking which was easy in slack current. We like it better than the alternatives in Charleston and will be back in the spring.
Very helpful with docking. Currents can be high. Enter at slack tide. Wonderful resort setting. Convenient, free shuttle to down town.
Good service and amenities. promptness is lacking in the resort but marina staff are very helpful.
I’ve stayed at the marina before and this past visit I was not very pleased. Directions to our slip was not very helpful as the dock hand didn’t know “boats”. Both amenities keys did not work. On our departure date we could not get ahold of a dock hand by phone, radio and looking for them .... nor could the resort get ahold of them . We needed to fuel and get a pump out before heading back to our port but with so many failed attempts we had to leave after assuming someone was sleeping on the job. We come for the amenities but wish it was staffed like the previous visit. I’m happy to see young staff out working but please teach them that on the water there is a lot of responsibility to be alert.
Another great stay at Charleston Harbor Marina! Have stayed here often and always have a great time! Downtown Charleston is easily accessible by water taxi or Uber.
docks are in terrible shape, they are not cleaned off form debris or bid droppings..... What a mess.... There fuel is way over priced from other marinas over $.80 higher priced. would say.... I will not return......
Rand and his team are amazing. Johnnie who is fairly new, was our primary contact and we thought he had been working here for years! Such a down to earth and pleasant guy! Extremely personal service, courteous, and do everything they can to support the boating community. No matter a long term resident, transient, mega yacht, or canoe, they approach the client as guests and it is appreciated!
Would have been 5 but we had damage due to Corps of Engineer wake!
At 2:45 the dock master told us he would be calling us in order because winds were high. At 4:00 he said we are 4th in line. At 5:10 I heard another boat calling them with no answer. I started calling the phone numbers I had. I finally reached someone that stated the workers had gone home. Luckily a young kid was still working and he helped us. Terrible experience!!! I don’t recommend this place to anyone.
No water at dock and promised hoses not provided without several request. Pump out also not working. Poor maintenance for upscale Marina.
This is a tough one! We definitely had some issues. We called to confirm slip assignments, but couldn't get anyone to answer any of the numbers listed. The concierge at the resort couldn't even help. We were 20 minutes out when I checked Dockwa to see if our slip assignment was listed there. Fortunately, Dockwa had a different number and that worked. I was able to reach the dockmaster on duty. He was very nice and did his best to help. The water line was broken on our dock, but he turned it on so we could fill out tanks. Our power pedestal's breaker popped several times so we had to turn off our AC and other items to keep power coming into the boat. They gave us a gift card to the resort which was very nice. The location was excellent to tour the Patriots Point ships which is why we stayed here. However, the expensive resort fee for facilities we didn't use and the fact that we were constantly waked due to boat traffic outside of the marina will probably keep us from returning. I rarely post a less then positive review, but in this case the phone numbers need to be fixed, the cell phone the marina advertises needs to have its voice mail accessible and the water/power issues need to be rectified. If you're going to charge for amenities they should work properly.
Helpful staff. Honored my request for docking location.
It was impossible to find a dockhand to help check in, help with electric problem, etc.
Nice marina very clean and helpful workers - but seemed short staffed.
Severely under-staffed. 50 amp electric was defective. $3.99 diesel was dirty and I had to change fuel filters after one run. Disappointing.
Docks are awash with every wake that goes by, which was often. Dredging is a fiasco, with many small rental boats and owners unable to navigate. Marina staff was nice. Resort's very nice.
We live locally and have lived here for 25 years. We frequent the Reel bar in the Fish House and fuel up at your fuel dock frequently as well. As for the stay, the marina was fine, the amenities were great. However I was placed on the outside pier and asked if there was anything on the inside, and the attendant says there was not. It was very rough and I have an eight-year-old and an 11-year-old and they were too scared to stay on the boat. So we drove back to headquarters plantation on Johns Island and spent the night in our home. In the future I would recommend allowing for a request for something on the inside less rough and more safe. Have a great day.
I’m happy I was able to get a last minute slip, then again …Hard to see at night entrance. The marina is going through dredging with equipment everywhere. They sent me down B dock only to find out after having to deal with a strong under current that it was blocked about half way down. No room to turn around so had to go backwards onto the oncoming current. My heart with in my throat. The place is so big it takes the staff 10 minutes just to get to you. Woke up to having a dredge house the size of a car underneath my yacht. Not sure of any damage until I get home. Nice kids running the place. When I asked for a diver to check out the bottom the answer from the manager which a young dock master on duty called said sorry not today. The other boat that may have been damaged was a 70’ trawler with stabilizers. Very bad for everyone. Beat to go somewhere else for now until they do a better job at some of these things.
We stayed one night. The staff are amazing and very helpful
The service was fantastic, everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful. With my kids on board having access to the resort was great. Being able to walk right to Patriots Point was also a big plus. Have been to Charleston many times but this was the first time going to Patriots Point and it was well worth it. The onsite restaurant was very good and you do get a 10% discount for being moored at the marina. We will certainly be back.
Very expensive stay. $183 for about 12 hour stay. Electricity charge was $28.00 for about 6 hours. I asked for a detailed breakdown of the charges but never received an answer. I do not recommend and will not stay here again.
Did NOT stay. Questioned the marina regarding one night minimum and was told to reserve on dockwa (which I did) and the marina would respond at 9 the next morning. Received an email from the marina at 1:30! that we could stay for one night, but had to pay for two nights (duh). Found other accommodations
For a very expensive stay at THE Charleston harbor resort, I expected so much more. Keys didn’t work to our room 4 different times, took it happening the second day in a row for them to move us to a different room...where it happened again. I don’t know what the issue is but it was extremely frustrating. We were told we could get 10% off eating at the Restaurant on the property...not true. We were given drink tokens we were told we could use at the pool tiki bars...not true. Only one elevator worked all weekend. I spent $4000 for 5 rooms and 2 boat slips and we (10 people) ate in their restaurant twice bc it is the only option you can get walk to....and after all the troubles and issues we went through they offered me $100 room credit to use at dinner. We will not be back.
Great place and location to just chill or do Charleston downtown. Great pool facilities and if you want a hotel it is great as well.
Fantastic place with all the amenities you could ask for. Very friendly staff. Only problem was the women's wash room was trash with only one toilet working for most of the week end. Brought it to staff's attention many times but very little was done,
Fun time here. Great pool/firepits, etc. Wish the hot tub was a bit hotter, but grateful to use it. Location is great and if you don't have a car the shuttle to/from downtown makes sure you can enjoy that. Short bike ride to the happy hours at Shem Creek. Will definitely stay here again.
Very courteous staff and nice dock accomodations
Our stay was great everyone was very nice and helpful.
They put us on the exterior wall. I asked about getting waked. "Oh no.... never happens". We went along with it. At least 4X we got rolled so much the pans lept off the stove, stuff went in the floor and we woke up late at night as well from the rolling. The walk to the showers was about 15 minutes from where we were put. Whoever designed those showers needs a new career path. They are claustrophobic when trying to get dressed in dry clothes.
Staff was competent and friendly. Marina was good, facilities more than adequate. Would like a non use of resort option and thus not have to pay a resort fee for something we didn’t use or need or want. Water taxi was great, wish it ran longer in the evening, Uber back form downtown was somewhat costly.
Nice help getting tied up. Shore Power was a problem. Attempted to power up 2 50A 240V shore cables. They only had one working plug along about 20' of dock. Promised to get a 100A to 50A adapter...never happened. Would like a partial refund. Outside dock for big boats is banged up, needs some parts replaced like pedastals for power etc. Slippery concrete needs to be pressure washed. Still was an ok stop...
My gosh this marina is HUGE and somewhat exposed on the open bay/harbor. We were on the inside of the outside floating T dock. Boat traffic passing buy would wake us all the time. Would have liked to take advantage of some of the amenities (pool & hot tub) but they were so far from the boat and it was cold/cooler when we visited so we didn't want to walk all the way to/from the pool in bathing suits. Water taxi to downtown Charleston super convenient, just wish it ran later in the evening. Would probably stay again in the future....
Far away from everything. Nobody had change for laundry. Not everyone wants to download an app and put their information out there. I get they don’t want to handle cash because of Covid but get a change machine. Ice was melted by the time getting it to the boat. Dock crew very friendly.
Great marina. Wonderful facilities. Cross current is heavy here INSIDE the slips. Time your entry on slack tide. Tie your lines well to be pushed off dock and lots of fenders when current pushing. Dock staff very helpful.
Marina and resort are 5 Star. Marina management can do some better pre-planning to try to schedule slips for scheduled arrivals. I called the marina on Channel 16 and had to loiter in front of the marina in our boat for 40 minutes to wait for them to find and assign us a slip. Also did not tell us how to get resort card passes. Had to call back and ask for them.
Awesome facility. Very friendly and professional staff. Top notch.
Nice facility and friendly staff. Fuel is very high and slip cost as well because they add a "resort" fee even if you dont use anything there besides the dock.
First time staying at this marina. Despite a very strong current, dock staff handled our boat expertly. Nice and wide floating docks. Overall, a very nice facility. The restaurant, Fish House, walking distance. Food, service and scenic views were terrific.
Friendly and attentive dock hands, easy in and easy out of the marina. Well protected. Good high speed diesel.
We did not get an approval to stay! We ended up Turing around and driving 7 hours back home because after calling and the marina saying to do the request and they had room for us they did not approve our request to come Very disappointed 937-715-1098 phone number contact
It was great. Nice place. Tricky getting in and out but we handled it fine.
Very accommodating staff. The facilities are five star and I understand the resort fee grants access to everything but my fob did not work on the pool. A guest opened up for me so really was not an issue. Fuel dock computer was down.
Had everything set and reached out to us early in the day to see that our needs would be met b
Loved ALL the amenities..(the beach resort , pool, jacuzzi and my personal fave was the fire pit) .. all 5 star! I had come to Charleston Harbor Marina over 12 years ago— WOW! It has had a major upgrade since then. We had a wonderful vacation experience. Will come again.
Rand and crew took care of everything we needed and made us feel right at home!
Normally better. This time, the boat filling up at fuel dock had to wait ~30 mins for attendant to take their payment after they were done fueling up. Three attendants finally showed up together in a boat. Ourselves and several other vessels were milling about waiting. Then she put us in a permanent slip holder’s slip, which we had to vacate an hour after getting settled. And the tide was now running strong. We were finally placed in the end tie on which we had originally asked to be placed. Nothing major, but I have come to expect better service. And having to pay a mandatory resort fee is annoying. We will be back, but hope they get their act together.
We have stayed here several times and will be back. We love the location and the amenities. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the dockhands knowledgeable and always willing to help.
Very nice facility. Due to COVID the water taxi was not running over to Charleston. Hot tub was very nice after playing 18 holes at the nearby links. Resort fee is a bit pricey for the winter months since it was too cold for the pool. They should have reduced resort fees for the winter. I will definitely come back again.
Scott and Gavin ROCKED the customer service. Altogether above and beyond for ICW newbies
Marina advertises a free shuttle into town but shuttle was not running due to COVID. This marina is in a relatively remote and secluded part of Charleston, across the river from downtown. Without a car or the shuttle, it is very isolated. We left early due to no transportation and marina's misrepresentation.
Helpful staff, friendly boat neighbors, solid floating docks. Can get a little rocky from boat wakes.
Our stay was excellent, the dock hands were first class, very friendly and very helpful. We will stop in again in the spring on our way home. Jim Steinle
Awesome marina!!! Very helpful and friendly staff. Will definitely return
Beautiful resort with a very attentive, and friendly staff.
One of my favorite marinas on the east coast. Friendly staff, beautiful facility, and a great restaurant.
Beautiful facility. Excellent dock staff. Nice, clean shower facilities. We will be back.
staff was awesome!!
Great marina and resort! Everything is clean, updated and the resort has beautiful pools and services. I love the view from marina too. Lots of commercial action in harbor. Very exciting area if you like to watch big and small ships! People are helpful at docks when coming in late at night. Highly recommend this marina. Close to downtown too!
Charged me FULL PRICE but no showers and no shuttle and gas at $3.50/gallon. When I brought this to their attention they said 'Have a nice day'.
Everything was great. We had to stay an additional day because of weather, and they accommodated us.
The dockhands, Justin and Alex are Great! The Resort is top notch! Shout out to Chip, Erin and the bar and restaurant staff. They always take care of me and my yacht owners. I’ll be back with another yacht delivery soon! Capt Gary Dunzelman Captains Marine Services llc.com
Dockmaster declared no electricity available however marina charged for electricity. No help was provided to secure boat to dock and no protective gear on marina dockside which caused unnecessary damage to boat. Shower facilities were greatest advertising appeal however marina informed no showers available after requiring registration with Dockwa. Overall an unpleasant experience. Bill will be disputed in entirety if Manager Rand Pratt does not reimburse electricity charge.
Disappointing to say the least. Being on the face dock made the walk to land very dog ‘unfriendly’.But that was a minor issue. I have followed closely Covid-19 updates via the Waterway Guide & other sources. There was no indication that ALL facilities other than take out/outside dining were unavailable. When I made our reservations on Sunday I was NOT informed that restrooms & showers were closed & locked. Also, the ‘resort’ fee was unconscionably added to the bill. We are Loopers & will be sure to post our shabby treatment on the AGLCA Forum so others will not have a similar experience.
Beautiful Resort Marina! Staff could not have been more accommodating. Nice to have a little bit of normalcy during these uncertain times.
Wonderful marina. The dock master and crew were very hospitable and welcoming. We will definitely be back and will be recommending Charleston Harbor Marina to our cruiser friends!
Absolutely loved everything about Charleston Harbor resort & Marina. Friendly staff great facilities, water taxi to town. Definitely coming back next year. Dan & Terri O-SEA-D
This marina is just fine!! Being on the Thead made the walks a little excessive, but, I said I would walk more this winter so that is OK. I would suggest a simpler check in rocedure so that those that do not wish to walk all the way to the office do not have to. We find Ipads with the Dockwa connection works well, and makes the customers experience a quality one. Just from observation I would enlarge fuel dock capacity. The resort pass is a little much this time of year as the TIKI bar was closed and the weather not great for swimming. Most boaters don't care about those things, and the rest of the amentities should be included for the premium price we are asked to pay. The Reel Bar is great, the patriots point museum is special and should be visited by everyone. All in all a good spot!!
My only complaint would be the "resort pass". We needed the pass to get out of the gated parking lot, but it would not work. We even had them reset the pass and it still didn't work. It was on our last day when we were informed the pass only works on the marina gate not the main gate we were trying to use.
A good marina if you cannot get in over on the Ashley. The only thing that makes the Ashley location better is location; it offers much more 'off boat' entertainment and in easy walking distance, as it is located downtown. Other than that, the view here is actually better, the facilities are nice, staff was competent and friendly, there is a resort on site with dining etc... Not much more that you could ask for, really. Be sure to check the current when entering or leaving as there is a bit of a dogleg into/out of the marina.
Good marina, nice amenities, water was a little rough even though the wave breaks. Will be back.
We upgraded to include the resort amenities and were able to enjoy the beautiful pools with poolside lunch service and yummy beverages. Next time I will bring my workout gear so I can use the gym and enjoy the beach yoga!
Excellent marina. Great staff and great amenities. 2 hotels, 3 pools, hot tub, fitness center, 2 restaurants, tiki bar, laundry. Free bikes, free shuttle to downtown Charleston and/or grocery store. The place has it all.
