About
Welcome to Elizabeth Harbour! The Elizabeth Harbour Conservation Partnership (EHCP) is a registered Bahamian non-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors. The mission of the EHCP is to guide the ecologically sustainable development of the coastal zone and waters of Elizabeth Harbour with the aim of enhancing tourism, fisheries, and recreational use through stakeholder education and participation and collaborative management of harbour facilities for the benefit of present and future generations.
The EHCP manages two new mooring fields off of the east end of Stocking Island. Both mooring fields are in protected waters in the lee of Stocking Island in deep water, and are approximately a 10-15 minute dinghy or water taxi ride to George Town.
If you’re looking to be in the middle of the action, the Gaviota Bay East (GBE) mooring field is the place to be. Located adjacent to several beach bars and restaurants, you will only be a short dinghy ride to fun! The GBE mooring field has 21 moorings that can accommodate up to 60 ft / 18 m vessels.
If you’re looking for a quieter setting close to nature trails and snorkeling, the Sand Dollar Beach (SDB) mooring field offers beautiful scenery adjacent to Moriah Harbour Cay National Park, but is still within a 5 minute dinghy ride to beachside food and drink. The SDB mooring field has 43 moorings that can accommodate up to 60 ft / 18 m vessels.
Moorings are by reservation only, and can be reserved for daily, weekly, and monthly stays online. We will do our best to accommodate special requests. Currently, there are no first-come, first serve moorings available. Mooring fees must be paid in full once the reservation is confirmed. Check out before 12pm. Check in after 2pm. Reservation requests will be confirmed on the same day if made by 1pm. No wet storage available.

Mooring balls are clearly marked &well maintained! Fast response, accommodating and courteous! Opportunities: Enuring the center console and speed boats know not to go fast thru a mooring field. Watched kids playing off a moored boat almost get hit by someone ripping thru... Ensure anchoring boats in the mooring field are monitored to keep the predetermined swing range. Or disallow anchoring in the mooring field altogether, especially overnight.
Great to not have to worry about some yahoo anchoring too close. Also, the moorings turn over very quickly and are readily available. I was afraid people would plant themselves for the season. Not happening. People wait on the mooring for a favorable anchoring spot. Holding well in storms too.
This was our first stay at Elizabeth Harbour and it corresponded with some big weather- lightning storms and winds with gusts up to 50+. The mooring was excellent. It held perfectly and no one in our mooring field had any issues. We will definitely stay there again when traveling through Georgetown. The communication through Dockwa was also excellent.
All good for the storm we weathered and my engine issue! All repaired and good to go!

Arrived and somebody was on ball 30. Picked up another ball, then Bradly helped me relocate to 31. No problem

Mooring is well spaced out and very accommodating. They are very responsive via text.
We stayed on ball 25 for couple months Jan-Feb-Mar and appreciated the monthly rate as well as the quality of the mooring equipment. They were very responsive via the Dockwa messaging.

Balls are well marked with numbers and have floats (they’re new so we expected this 🙂). Close ding to Chat n Chill, Peace and plenty Beach club, etc. Would stay here again.
My stay was wonderful. Your staff was very helpful as my husband has to leave three days for Nassau for a medical surgery. I have explained the situation in your chat. And a very kind lady help me to change my moorings for another one very close the Sand Dollar beach and sent to me two young men to help me. They were so kind and they have also the idea to bring me some foods. Just WOW. Thank you so much for our fantastic staff

Good mooring. Bit too much exposure to prevailing winds but never worried about holding.
We reserved through Dockwa and requested a certain mooring field. We had a quick response from the reservation team and got a mooring in the requested field. We extended twice and again the reservation team responded in minutes. Great service, solid moorings spaced adequately. Direction on tying to moorings was very clear. The only negative were boaters anchoring to close to the mooring field. It appeared the staff did try to police this and had boats move further away. I would definitely stay again.
Nice new moorings - right in the middle of everything, like they say! Four stars instead of 5 because of the sheer number of high-speed dinghies and small boats zooming through, even after dark.

Nice place . Good mooring. Much confusion. Arrived after check in at 4 PM. There was a boat on our assigned ball and no one on the boat. We picked up the ball next to it. Messaged and called the marina for direction/assistance with no response. Played musical balls for rest of weekend

I liked the mooring balls and the fact that they help the sea bed to recover. It's nice that the BNT is striving to protect the natural habitat whilst still catering for boaters. I did not like the number of boats that refuse to use the balls and insist on anchoring just outside the field despite balls.being available. In many cases they were anchored in front of the field near the beach. There did not seem to be anybody policing the area and unfortunately there are disrespectful boaters out there. It was only $29 a day for a week,little to pay to help protect what we all come to see and enjoy!!
Solid mooring, which held well in all winds and directions. Sand Dollar Beach is beautiful and the mooring field close to the beach is protected even in NW winds

New moorings are excellent. We rode out the “blow”. 30-40 kt in 60 foot trawler. No issues. Moorings are well spaced and have a heavy pendant. The pendant eye is a bit small for two larger lines but works ok. Service is prompt through Dockwa messaging
Moorings were great. My only concern was that boats anchoring encroach on the channel in to Stocking Island which forces high speed shuttles to cut through the mooring field. At one point we witnessed one of them hit and unoccupied moorings. Otherwise, a great experience.

Everything was easy to schedule and the management was very responsive to communication. There was a minor maintenance issue in the mooring field while we were staying here but it was handled quickly and professionally.
