We are happy to be in a professional, well maintained and knowledgeable marina with Harbor Master(s) on site. Gas prices are the best around and highly recommended refueling in Bucksport before heading up the river. There is a fuel option further up on the river but it is not always easy to get a hold of them in Hamden. They are conveniently located near restaurants, pharmacy and grocery store. All are in a walkable distance. 🦞⚓️🛥
While the marina is a little old , it is well maintained, clean and secure. We spent 7 weeks there last summer. The Harbormaster Mike & His assistant Bill were exceptionally service oriented. The City’s waterfront director Richard was out and about daily. The waterfront is being constantly and consistently improved. They did not have diesel fuel last year but it was supposed to be in place over the winter. Bucksport is a nice quiet laid- back location. We will be spending JULY there again this year. Spent 10 weeks here this summer due to a family emergency in the area. The Marina Facilities have been upgraded since last year, diesel now available. Big plans for expansion. We cannot say enough positives about the staff, Mike, Bill & Richard. Police patrol multiple times a day, so the facility is very secure. While not big, Bucksport has much offer. Several local restaurants, supermarket a 10 minute walk, nice theater, and great ice cream. The hidden gem Is Wine By Design. Upscale Tapas, wine & craft beers, with live music In a nice outdoor setting which is heated for the spring & fall. We’ll be back next year again.
