new name, some dock repairs, same old shit. i was up this weekend to check on my boat, damaged from the launch. hopefully that gets taken care of but i won’t hold my breath. tried to reach the manager at the office but it wasn’t open at 9:30am. hopefully this year is better but it’s starting off horribly. if it stays the same it will be my last year here after 12 wonderful seasons, we have made many friends however with the rate increases and lack of services and a manager who is never available it may just be time to move on.
i’ve been trying to reach the manager for week, just like in the summer i guess he’s a ghost unless your one of his “favourites” unfortunately the past two years this marina has spiralled down hill. as much as they say they are going to do things they never do, unless your on d dock. few favourites over on that dock i suppose. hopefully this year they can do some upgrades for other docks instead of just taking care of them.
Nice to see others agree with my opinion of this place. Anthony(so called manager) should stick hanging with his chici. He is clueless, useless and out of his league in this marina. Lies to customers and tells one customer that another is being kicked out and spreads rumors. Nice, eh. Mechanic is also useless. Never again. You are better staying at the Port of Orillia. At least you can get ice when you want some and find someone in charge. The owners don't care. They will sell it for development and not give a rats ass about the customers.
This marina is going to get sold according to the kid, or be turned into condos. which is for the better we have videos of the "owner" checking to see who's calling and then not taking the call and putting it back in his pocket. he's never around, he has a rv on site, but can't get out of bed before 11, or later if his girlfriend from d dock is in there with him. nothing like getting told your being kicked out of a marina at party by the "mechanic" then having the owner tell you that's not true. however other customers have said it was true he just can't deal with the confrontation. I've heard other boaters are kicked out but i guess well have to wait till spring to find out since the manager didn't tell them yet either. surprise surprise since no one can ever get ahold of him. we got to watch them lift a few boats this year on d and b dock. what a show, he obviously has no clue what he was doing, the guy who did it last year actually knew what he was doing, wonder what happened to him, apparently he has moved on, no shocker the "manager" keeps chasing away anyone worth having around here because they don't agree with him. stay away, the owners don't care, the long term plan isn't to have this as a marina, if the rumours are true and Bridgeport is buying it, i hope it happens soon before there's nothing left, despite there office short comings they are a much better operation as a whole with transparency and honesty. anthony is anything but.
having stayed a season here, i can tell you i’m happy to have moved on. the reason i went here in the first place was the manager i talked too over the winter. she was great, however the child who took over didn’t listen to anyone and his true colours came out as the summer went on. unfortunately a marina with so little amenity’s should be on the cheaper side of things. however they expect top dollar with giving nothing in return. they need to hire staff that can actually look after the marina. the manager can’t handle the responsibility and spends most of his time listing to one or two customers. i suggest you stay away, we moved to a marina that literally has everything and they were cheaper. i wouldn’t even suggest a transient mooring here. you’d be better off at stat port or krates
this will be short but sweet. Anthony needs to go, he’s the worst kind of manager, the girl before was at least honest and did what she could. he told everyone he fired her, but she was still doing emailing and billing. he was a ghost all summer. he hired some new mechanic who says he winterized boats and hadn’t. i’m not sure what if any changes will happen next season but it won’t matter we are not returning. I HIGHLY SUGGEST TO STAY AESY ASLONG AS ANTHONY IS THE “MANAGER” he never returns phone calls and the office is never open. ice every second weekend and no amenities on site.
this place is a dumpster fire. ownership doesn’t care about it at all. docks are awful, the kid running the place can never be found. either gone with his girlfriend or just sleeping till noon. the pump out never worked, the driveways were awful, the power never worked properly. paid for 30 amp but could not run my air conditioner. everywhere else i went it was fine. d dock got some gravel this year but no one else did. the kid saying he would handle things never did anything. they raised the rates by 100% to some boaters but others got discounts. if i were you i would stay far away from this place.
Marina is in dire need of slip repairs. They wobble and shake when you go out on end. Management is non-existent. No one around to deal with issues or to buy ice. Kid who is supposed to be running place is AWOL. Pump out seems to be hit and miss. No gas. Washrooms are 70's campsite quality. Boat sheds out front falling into lake. Place has several large camping trailers on site blocking views of lake from slips. Driveways are mud holes when it rains, Appears to be a dingy old marina in need of a lot of work.
you can’t give a no star review which is unfortunate, since that’s really what this place needs. let’s start with the lack of service. this “mechanic” steve they have, what a complete waist of space he is. besides lying to customers about what’s wrong and over charging for work not preformed, he leaves a mess everywhere he works. there was another mechanic but i never met him, heard good things but apparently he left too. you have the option of using bridgeport. i highly suggest if your at this marina that’s the mechanical team you use. the mechanic seems lost that’s there now. the manager - or 20 something year old, is forever to busy to answer his phone or return a phone call. unless it’s to one of his “favourites”. he’s always gone on weekends with his girlfriend on there boat from D dock. sometimes he’s just to busy with the guy at the end of d dock to do anything. it explains greatly the special treatment that area of the marina received. he has no business being and sny management position. trying to get ice on a long weekend was impossible as he was out at the island with his girlfriend and family. the docks are awful. no attention or real repairs are being done. bandaids everywhere you look and are continuing today. it’s. a shame for a place that has that potential. facility’s are non existent, other than bathrooms which are a throwback to the early 80’s, however the septic system in the back slips was almost overflowing one day i noticed on my walk. fellow boaters said it had been like that for almost a month. the grass was not well kept, the pump out was not working well, no fuel offered. this place is a dump and has horrible staff and that’s putting it nicely. would not recommend anyone to even stay one night.
Stayed once last year. Never go back. Being run by some big lanky kid who knows squat about customer relations. Three police cars came in for some altercation across from us screaming and yelling half the night.
Good location on the system between the two big lakes. Wouldn't be my first choice. Too many loud all night parties, slips are badly in need of repair, and dogs barking and running at large. Better choices nearby or Port of Orillia
