We were blown out the first two days with a big NorEaster but the other two days were great. Awesome marina team and nice clean facility.
Nothing but good things to say about the staff and conditions!! Will be back!!
The bridge going out to the dock is very long. It is hard to get an Uber there. You are exposed to a fair bit of wake. Service and the facilities would get a five star if it wasn’t for the location.
We were looking for a secure marina as we were looking to leave the boat for a few days. This marina is safe and secure and we felt comfortable leaving the boat. Draw backs are: a long walk to shore, nothing much around (you'll definitely need a car), and it's not protected from waves and wakes and is kinda noisy! BUT, the staff is VERY nice and professional. 3 uniformed staff met us at the slip to help us with the lines (it was very windy when we arrived). They gave us a ride to a rental car agency (less than 3 miles away) and a couple of golf cart rides to the parking lot :-).
Didn’t get a chance to dock for the week, but the people I met and helped me with my issues were fantastic! I cannot wait to stay here in May!
Beautifull marina. Well maintain, clean and easy acces. The staff was professional and ready nice.
Kept my boat there for 2 1/2 mos on the way down from VA. Very well run marina. Surprisingly close to downtown Charleston.
Nice marina, helpful staff. It’s across from some serious docks where they load container ships but I found it really interesting.
Helpful friendly staff. New gates promote a sense of security.
Marina staff is always friendly and helpful. The location isn't great if you don't have transportation, but was safe and secure and the price is right. Can get some wake from passing boats and ships and some ambient noise from the port next door, but we like watching all of the maritime activity. It's pretty cool. We have stayed before and will again on our passage through Charleston.
Cooper River is an excellent marina with staff that care about the marina and its guests. The location can seem a bit remote, but its also one of the few places one can watch the activities of a busy port. The floating docks are excellent, and while the outside of the transient dock can be a bit rolly from boat and ship traffic, it is a good and economical place for cruisers to stop on their way north or south with the season.
Cooper River Marina was great. The staff is friendly and atmosphere is relaxing, We will definitely be back in the fall. They even offer marina carts for free and the store has a good selection of craft beers.
A very clean and well run Marina, with friendly, knowledgeable and courteous staff. What is more, James went above and beyond to secure us a slip, even though the Marina was full. We don't know Charleston, so would not have known where to go, as there was no room at any other Marinas. Thank you James and Staff! We truly appreciate it.
Great guys there. Bill in maintenance was extremely helpful
Nice people and facilities are in good shape. Nothing else is nearby, so you’ll need transportation if you are a transient. We were able to leave the boat unattended for and extended period with comfort and the office recommended a dinner for some work who did a great job.
Friendly staff help us dock and have us helpful tips for visiting Charleston
Staff was very friendly and helpful checking in and informing of how things worked. Environment was clean, quiet, and easy access for uber to get into town.
Another great stay at Cooper River Marina. With the use of Dockwa, I was able to stay at the marina completely contactless. The marina contacted me via email to let me know they were able to put me in the slip that worked perfectly last time. Great place to put your boat!
New manager started a couple years ago knows little about boats or running a marina obviously since it is very run down with broken docks, lounge and baths rarely cleaned, and grumpy workers. He bullies visitors and lies about availability to keep boats out so they don't have to work (it's a county parks dept. marina, not privately owned.) Marina is located in the middle of a dirty industrial area with no provisioning or restaurants close by. No fuel here either. Avoid like the plague.
Outstanding marina, stayed there for a month, the staff are top notch always willing to help, very safe and secure, would highly recommend to anyone. Capt.Pierre Messier S/V Ching-tu
