After entering through the channel the Gas Dock is immediately off your starboard bow. Please stop there and check-in, fuel up, pump out, or make any preparations that may be necessary unless you have made prior arrangements. Thank you and enjoy your stay at Mentor Harbor Yachting Club.
Tha amenities make this a wonderful stop. The highlight for us was kayaking from the boat, under the bridge and into the nature preserve. The dining experience was also top notch!
Very nice facility and helpful staff. They made us feel very welcome. Wish we could have stayed more than one night.
No help. Didn’t answer radio
Awesome marina and great people and staff
Excellent dockage & dinner. Large marina with excellent accommodations.
Nice place, great 4th of July fireworks. Thanks for the assistance!
Beautiful yacht club, and very friendly people. We enjoyed our stay.
We are members of another Lake Erie yacht club with reciprocal privileges at Mentor Harbor. Upon arrival we were told non-members were not allowed to pump out. After a discussion and phone call we were allowed to pump out. Dock was covered in goose poop and electrical breaker kept tripping. Had to move power cords to another outlet. Bathrooms and shower areas were not clean. Dining room was closed due to special event so had to cook dinner on the boat.
Stayed on Island. Restrooms not air conditioned, so very warm.
Nice location. Easy access. Restaurant on site.
we love having the island as our back drop for the firework show!!! Thanks goes out to the crew at MHYC for allwoing us the opportunity . Already looking forward to next year.
MHYC was outstanding. We had our new-to-us trawler moved over the road from Florida and made arrangements to have it dropped into the water here. The staff was careful and thorough and helped us along the way. We fueled up and spent the night in a great transient slip with all the amenities: 50amp hookup, pool use, WiFi etc. When I had a problem with my Raymarine system, they even had a local expert take a look and give me some pointers. The slip was quiet and calm and we got a good night's rest before our journey to Buffalo the next day.
The harbor includes the Mentor Harbor Yachting Club and municipal Mentor Lagoons Nature Preserve and Marina. Channel entrance is reduce in half by a seawall extension presumable to protect the inner harbor, be mindful of boat traffic. The Mentor Harbor Yachting Club and its fuel dock is located immediately on the right. On July 23, I paid $3.99/gallon diesel. I did not patronize the facilities of the club which looked very nice. I surmise transients are placed across the turning basin which access to club facilities is by a ferryboat. At the end of the transient pier ring the bell for transfer; to return arrange transfer at the fuel dock. At the transient location is a restroom and shower facility. Water depth is 10 feet at the transient slip.
Stayed on G dock. The bathrooms in that area are neglected, disgusting. For the price, they need to clean at least daily, if not twice a day. The clubhouse and pool were nice. Erin did a great job taking care of us at dinner.
Very friendly staff, facilities improving. Harbour is troubled with algae, Marine growth.
Club house and the bar personal we’re great. The bath facility by the lagoon was below standard as maintenance wasn’t up to par.
Mentor is a very nice harbor to visit. The Yacht Club staff is friendly and helpful. We were on a floating dock which broke during the storm at night. I would not recommend the taco bar on Tuesday evening.
The docks are very well maintained. Wide fairways made maneuvering easy. A beautiful bar and wonderful cocktails. We wished we had had reservations for dinner but an event fill all the tables for the evening. Five stars for sure!
Our stay at Mentor Harbor Yacht Club was fantastic. The gas dock is easily accessible and staffed well. The docks are floating and in great condition with plenty of power. They have a pool, pavilion, restaurant and bar that are all classy. There is also beach access. Members are extremely nice to transient dockers. It was definitely a great experience.
Very friendly and accommodating. Helped us dock boat and made sure we were all set. Would book again.
The MHYC is a very nice facility. the floating docks are great and they have a lovely pool and veranda. The bar has a very nice lake view and the bar itself is shaped to look like a boat. The gas dock staff was very accommodating and helpful. We met 8 friends there for dinner. I had called two days before our stay to make reservations. On my first call to them they had said to use Dockwa for my boat but to phone separately for dinner reservations. When I checked the day of the dinner they did not have us listed as coming. They corrected that quickly with no problem. One strange thing. On our $60 dinner there was a $10 service charge added. I asked the waitress if that was her tip. She said she only got 1/3 of it. So I, like the other guests, left extra tip to get her to the appropriate amount. It kind of feels like the extra $6.50 or so of the service charge that did not go to the waitress is a rip off of sorts. I would feel better about it if they added it to the price of the food. It would have been unnoticed then.
Amazing people and amazing place. Definitely coming back. We were so welcomed by everyone.
I've spent close to 20 nights over the last 4 years at MHYC, and this is a fantastic place to visit. The Marina is well-protected, and their floating docks are among the nicest I've seen anywhere. They have an outstanding restaurant with a nice view out over the lake, and the fuel dock is staffed 24hrs a day.
The marina was very clean and nice. The entrance is narrow so use caution. Ate in the restaurant and the staff is very friendly and great service. I did not appreciate the service fee that was tacked onto my credit card. Also took advantage of their "fuel deal" by purchasing a 100 gallons of diesel and getting .40 off per gallon. However, not much of a deal when they added back a $20.10 credit card service charge. Not much of a deal then. I really do not like places that add additional service fees to purchases.
Everything was great...We had a wonderful time...the members where friendly and the food was vary good...We are looking forward to our next visit .Hope to come back soon...
Staff very attentive, good was great! Grounds and docks maintained.
Upon arrival we were greeted with welcome bags which was super nice! Our docks were a little farther out than the last time we stayed at your club, but the grounds were well kept. Your restrooms & showers were clean and worked very well! But we were a little disappointed with the pool and the service at the restaurant. The pool was dirty... lots of debris at the bottom. As far as restaurant, I made reservations for 7pm for 9 people. It took over 30 minutes just to get greeted by our waitress, an additional 40 minutes to get our cocktails and appetizers. Then when our food came out, I ordered the steak sandwich, what came out was a gristly piece of meat on top of a 2 slices of tomatoes with slice of soggy slice of bread. Needless to say, I was expecting something totally different. My husband got the perch, said it was tasty but did not look appealing at all. He raved about the cole slaw. Lastly, your members were more than a little bit on the snooty side. We sat at the bar by the pool and tried to have a conversation with some of the members but wow not very friendly at all. I do not remember having this experience the last time we visited your club. MHYC is a short, easy trip for us and would like to keep our visits somewhat close to home but this experience was not anything like our last visit. I raved to my friends what a great time we had on our last visit ... but this was definitely different. Not sure what changed but I would recommend hiring a few more servers/waiters and cleaning your pool more frequent.
The harbormaster (Dan) was awesome. He was prepared for our arrival. He was able to get our group of 6 boats all on one dock with convenient access to the club. There was aslo assitance from a staff mrmber who helped members get situated in their docks. He also provided a splitter for one boat who needed it. The pool and clubhouse are great. The service in both was first rate. We will return next year.
