About
Welcome to Willoughby Marina, one of the easiest in-and-out transient and long-term stops for boaters traveling through the Norfolk, Virginia area and the Chesapeake Bay.
Conveniently located near the ICW, and the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay, Willoughby Marina is a practical and welcoming stopover for captains looking for easy access, friendly service, and a comfortable place to tie up.
We offer transient and long-term slips, including options for monohulls, catamarans, and larger vessels on our new 105' concrete T-Head. Amenities include: pump-out service, showers, laundry, 24/7 surveillance and an on-site restaurant, Willoughby Fish House, just steps from the docks.
Boaters staying with us are close to Ocean View beaches, local seafood spots, downtown Norfolk, Nauticus and the Battleship Wisconsin, Waterside District, and other Hampton Roads attractions. Ocean View and East Beach are known for beachside communities, seafood, sand, and sun, while downtown Norfolk offers dining, entertainment, waterfront attractions, and museums.
Whether you are stopping for a night, waiting on weather, exploring Norfolk, or looking for a longer-term slip, Willoughby Marina is a convenient, friendly, and easy place to land. We hope to see you soon!

I cut my boat there for a month I mentioned to him two or three times that the electric was 195 V or 200 V. They said they would look into it and they said that no other bolts complained well. My boat does need 220 or 230 to operate not 200 all my air conditioners is only one would run it was
Gerald, thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry the power available during your stay was not adequate for your boat. We were aware of the initial voltage concern and understood it had been addressed, so we did not realize you were continuing to experience issues. If this is not the correct understanding, please accept our apologies. Had we known there were still concerns, we would have gladly continued troubleshooting and looked for other solutions while you were here.
We did enjoy having you stay with us and hope you’ll give us another opportunity once our new transient dock is completed, which is planned to include upgraded electrical service , and hope to be ready for bookings late 2027. Thank you again for staying with us, and we do hope you'll give us another chance.

NoReportWe arrived at Willoughby under a very strong blow. Very thankful for several hands at the dock helping to get us tied up! We had no issues with power or water during our stay. Well maintained docks, restrooms, and onsite restaurant were all welcomed amenities! Being so close to the Norfolk International Airport was a bonus for us as I had a flight home. Uber was easily accessible for trips to the touristy waterfront. The goings-on around the Naval yard made for some great viewing too. If you're looking for a budget friendly, relaxed stay and not high-end resort amenities l, Willoughby fits the bill.
Thank you so much, Bryan & Kathleen! We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. It means a lot to hear that our team was there to help you get safely tied up, especially with the conditions you arrived in. We’re also so glad you enjoyed your stay and were able to take advantage of our location while exploring the area.
We hope you’ll make your way back to Willoughby the next time you’re in the Norfolk area! We’re excited to begin construction on our brand-new transient dock later this year/early next year, and we can’t wait to welcome guests to the upgraded facilities. We’d love the opportunity to have you back and show you everything that’s in store. Safe travels, and we hope to see you again soon!
