Joe Wheeler State park is in a beautiful cove, with an easy entry and exit. It was unclear where the transient docks were and we ended up docking near the fuel dock because we couldn’t get anyone to answer on the phone when we were coming in and had to move to another slip once we checked in. The marina amenities (showers, laundry, bathrooms) were clean, and we took advantage of them all, but are a bit of a walk, farther down the dock. Loved the hiking trails and being surrounded by Alabama nature.
