We had a season long contract for our 28’ center console which we’ve had the past 7 seasons. I think you should consider reaching out to loyal, repeat customers like me prior to March 15th and not make us stress about securing the mooring on that day as we have no alternatives. Also, the $10,000.00 seasonal fee is money I’m guessing you would like to have before 3/15 and I’m happy to pay early. So in other words, offer a preferred client early purchase option. Thanks
Harbor support when we arrived were great. Melissa communicated ahead via text which was really nice. Pumpout team was great as well. Only challenge was that we were put on D1 and many boats blow thru this section of the channel. Definitely would have preferred to be farther in the mooring field -J1 would have been ideal for us.
Very friendly and proactive staff manning these moorings. Great support available for the stay, directly and through Dockwa. Dinghy dock (controlled by the Town, not Nantucket Moorings) is a bit of a mess, but convenient to town...
The team at Nantucket Moorings make visiting Nantucket a breeze during the busy summer season. Look fwd to using them again in 2025 and beyond .
Great stay as always. Great team of friendly people! Moorings kept in excellent conditions. Town needs to do something to expand dinghy dock!
September 3, 2024: We usually get our mooring in Nantucket in July. Due to a situation at home that prevented us from sailing from Maryland to Nantucket, we had to cancel our reservations at the last minute. Finally, in early August, we were able to make our trip to Nantucket. Nantucket Moorings was terrific in accomodating our cancelation and then accomodating our sudden arrival. August is the businest month for moorings. Melissa in the office was wonderful at working things around to accdomodate us and we had a delightful stay in Nantucket. Highly recommend booking early. Great bunch of people. Very accommodating. I had several important business issues sent to their office by FedEx. Each was delivered to our boat the first thing the next morning. Highly recommended.
Great experience at Nantucket Mooring. Helpful staff and very easy to locate moorings. Beautiful location just outside the boat basin. Convenient options with launch service or town dinghy dock. Excellent communication with the marina staff. We enjoyed our experience and thank the staff for their great support. Our third trip this summer - great crew and service. We returned mid June 2022 for another wonderful weekend on Nantucket. As always, the team did a great job, easy to find the mooring location - and great options for a tender or using the Harbor Launch. A+ Once again we had a great experience at Nantucket Moorings and spent Labor Day weekend 2024 with them. Great location - beautiful views from the mooring field - great experience.
Perfect. Led us to our mooring. It was blowing 20 so the work boat stayed with us until we were hooked up and he knew we didn’t need any more assistance. Look forward to returning next year.
Thank you for putting GEER on my mooring. it made it easy to find.
Just the absolute best! Cannot say enough good things about the staff and mooring field. Friendly, highly accommodating office and on-water staff. Thanks to Steve for the multiple water deliveries! An overall GREAT stay on the moorings! We visit Nantucket every year and its always the same positive experience. We had two boats for nearly a month and had the best vacation!! Will definitely return next year! Thank you!
Usual great service in 2024 , appreciate the team , great mooring , and support . Another great Nantucket experience , see you next summer
Harbormaster was not around, too many wakes in mooring field to count, dinghy dock jammed with year round boats that are too big for the dinghy dock.
Mooring was fine and close to town, however dinghy docks are unusable (2 or 3 deep with dinks left long term) be prepared for lots of expensive launch rides.
Great service and well located moorings. Only glitch was difficulty in accessing toilets and showers which were locked until 8.30 Sunday morning.
Very nice stay in ACK harbor. Always so picturesque. We had a good mooring location and launch service was quick.
Friendly and helpful staff, convenient location. Moorings are a tad close. Will have to break out the buffer to get the bottom pain off my sterns from the adjacent mooring rubbing on it for the last couple of days.
1. Considering you are one of the most expensive mooring locations in the area the shower and washroom facilities should be upgraded, since they are in a sad state and run down 2. I suggest you consider establishing a policy on generator usage since the boat in front of us ran its diesel engine/generator from 7 pm to 7 am, taking away the beauty and peacefulness of the harbour. As a suggestion, a guideline could be outlined that in respect of fellow boaters, generator/engines not be used from 6-8 pm and midnight to 7 am, 3. I understand that you have to charge for luanch service, however, the current charge is excessive - heading out do dinner and back for 4 people makes one question whether or not to go to town of simply stay on the boat.
The team is great! Always professional and willing to help out!
The marina was so helpful in getting me a mooring. The surroundings are beautiful, and the launch service is top-notch.
Staff are always extremely helpful.. we enjoy coming every year !
Very pleasant stay as always. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Equipment is first rate and well maintained.
2nd stay - great! Just like last year. I think there are a couple extra floating dingy docks at the town pier this year also! Staff is helpful & professional. Well situated and well maintained mooring field in one of the best boating locations on the NE coast. Staff are very helpful and pleasant. Even went so far as to deliver a package out to the boat. Dinghy dock is no treat but did notice a new looking floating dock next to the pier. However, It’s no worse than others in prime locations at high season. Town showers are super clean and plenty of hot water
Excellent stay. Like always morning was in great shape and staff was very helpful upon our arrival.
The Harbor is very nice and there is very good launch service available as well as a dinghy dock at the harbor master's location south of the village. We got lucky as the moorings were fully booked and we had to wait list for the four nights we needed. Bad weather was predicted, and the reservations opened up. The staff was very responsive and helpful. Although Dockwa showed all days booked, the staff had space which Dockwa didn't accurately show. Call directly if the Dockwa site shows no space.
Excellent stay! Highly advised. Very accommodating.
Perfect. Great mooring and location. Appreciate proximity to dinghy dock. Thank you so much.
Convenient. Good communication. Well organized. Thank you!
Always a fantastic customer service experience. Great people every time.
Good mooring and very helpful Nantucket Mooring boat crew.
Nantucket moorings are the most pleasant and helpful people. Great experience
Thank you to Nantucket Moorings for a wonderful stay. Most of all thank you for re covering our dinghy that broke loose. You really went out of your way to help us. Hope to see you again next year! Kim and Jeff Price
We had a great weeklong stay. As usual the service and attentiveness were great. It is always a pleasure to stay at Nantucket Moorings.
Wonderful visit. The harbor is spectacular and the mooring field is exceptionally well organized. It was an easy ride to the town pier in the tender and everyone worked well together to ensure access for others to tie up a tender and visit town. Convenient grocery within walking distance for provisions. We will continue to make Nantucket Moorings a key destination in our summer cruising schedule. Always a great visit.
The harbor is beautiful. Launch service was excellent, helped us locate our mooring at 11 p.m. on a Sunday night after 13 hours on the water. Highly recommend a stay.
Great time there. As everyone says need more dingy space. See you next year.
Very well organized process, easy mooring pickup. The island is amazing! We will be staying with them again!
The mooring was safe and the launch service was great! The showers and toilets were adequate. We enjoyed our stay. Last year it was a wonderful, long one-month stay. This year we only had time to saty for five nights.
Very pleasant and professional staff. Well Maintained moorings.
Nice facilities however kind of a free for all at the dinghy docks
We were grateful that Nantucket Mooring was able to extend our stay for an extra day. Avocette is always well received in Nantucket harbor, and we liked the mooring location (N1). Looking forward to a future visit!
Awesome stay. Thanks so much for the convenient mooring assignment.
Nantucket moorings were very friendly and attentive . They respond quickly . Great equipment and gear too Couldn’t be happier !
Weather kept us away until the day we would have checked out. Ease of using the mooring on a Sunday for a day trip. Thanks to whomever runs the office.
Great stay over the Fourth of July. Note that the dinghy dock is very busy and you might need a longer dock line than usual. Washroom and shower facilities were not modern, but clean.
Nantucket Moorings was so accommodating as always! Thank you.
Attentive and helpful staff. Quick to respond via VHF radio. As always, a brilliant stay.
Well maintained moorings with strong tackle. Friendly and courteous service. All good.
Very well laid out mooring field. Easy to find your mooring.
Great help from work boat showing us the correct mooring and saying welcome. Best mooring lines I have seen! Good length and 2 lines.
Great spot with quick launch pickup service. Check-in was seamless and they offered to escort us to the mooring.
I am a resident of Nantucket and have used Nantucket Moorings in the past for another boat and they provided prompt and courteous service. I have know the family for years and well run company.
1. It was quick, easy and efficient to sign up through Dockwa. BUT it is not so easy to submit this review ! 2. we were given a mooring with a PERFECT location. 3. The harbormaster instantly approved us having 30 minutes of extra time. 4. the free pump out is super
Great folks at Nantucket moorings . excellent harbor launch group as well
We stayed on a mooring for the week and was very peaceful!
Nantucket is wonderful after Labor Day. Got an excellent mooring right outside the town docks entry to the dinghy dock. Very friendly help finding our mooring from the work boat gentleman. Town should fix up its bathrooms. The public bathrooms are good in the boat basin though. Dinghy dock is packed. Bring a long dock line. Overall a delightful stay.
The staff were really friendly and helpful and we wanted to extend our reservation. Easy ride to the dinghy dock from our assigned mooring. Definitely bring a long line for the dinghy since the dock gets crowded. Bathrooms at the town pier could be improved, we opted to walk over to the public restrooms at the boat basin pier to use the showers there instead (much cleaner/newer and an easy walk).
Always ready to help from the moment you round Brand Point to the moment you leave. Simply the best most polite Harbor in the NE
Great experience. Great communications. But we wish the bathrooms were clean. Shower curtains all of mildew, ripped up, broken hooks nothing to hang clothes on. After a long day of sailing would’ve been nice to have a better showers.
Nantucket Moorings staff were very professional and helpful
Efficient, well run, professional friendly helpful staff. Highly recommend.
Thank you for a perfect day on Nantucket. We arrived early and it was not a problem. The guide boat captain called for the harbor launch and they picked us up in a minute, going out of their way to ferry us over to the White Elephant for lunch at the Brant Point Grill. Everything was perfect.
No provisions for boat trash. Block ice $5 on mainland, $10 from you. Guaging!
Always great service, love staying with Nantucket Moorings
The people at Nantucket Moorings are always SO helpful! We were sorry to see Lee retire, but with Melissa and Julie at the helm, things continue to be so smooth and professional--they are both very communicative and willing to accommodate us and work with us in the height of an incredibly busy season. We are also instantly guided to our mooring, even asked if we need some ice-- always stellar service!! They are the most active company we experience on our New England sails, but they have it down to a science--incredibly professional, organized, understanding, friendly and courteous. We look forward to staying with them every year. Thank You Nantucket Moorings!! See you next season!!
Great mooring and we’ll-run harbor. However the dinghy facilities and showers are a dump. Dirty and not maintained.
Fantastic stay. Mooring was east to find with the assistance of their boat that guided us to our mooring. Dinghy dock is close and while crowded we always found a spot. Free water and showers at the harbor masters dock. East walk to town for restaurants and grocery store. We will definitely be back
We have been visiting for the past 12 years. We love the island and especially the beautiful harbor. Nantucket moorings is a well run business and we have appreciated their service. We plan to continue making plans to visit Nantucket every summer. I was surprised this year by the shear increased number of dinghies at the dinghy dock. Edgartown harbormaster writes on their Dockwa site that they recommend at least a 15 foot line for a tie up at the dock due the large number of dinghies in Edgartown. I recommend amending your Dockwa information to include a similar statement just to give boaters a heads up. Fortunately, the attentive launch service in the harbor neutralizes the overflow of the dinghies. We had a to order a part this year, had it sent to the office and they delivered it to our mooring. The staff I spoke to at Nantucket moorings were always pleasant and accommodating. We look forward to returning next summer.
By virtue of its location, and it’s being the only game in town for moorings, there is no way to avoid Nantucket Moorings. Their booking process is efficient. The staff are friendly, and the mooring top quality. Most importantly it secures you access to Nantucket, one of the best sailing destinations on the East Coast. The biggest downside is the dinghy dock and the nearby public facilities. While they appear to have added dinghy dock space, it remains woefully inadequate, leaving one to tie a long line and climb over other dinghies. This made our trips in to land with a dog very challenging. Secondly, the town bathrooms and showers are a true horror. Dirty, run down, and inadequate. For an island as posh as Nantucket they are disgraceful. There are facilities available at the boat basin which are nicer, but those most proximate to the dock are really terrible. High price, no other options, and foul facilities are the cost of getting to Nantucket.
Nantucket Moorings was very accommodating and helpful. Thanks!!!!
We always have a good experience with Nantucket Moorings. They are responsive and available. And they have a friendly and knowledgeable staff. We love them!!
Friendly, courteous staff. Moorings are more expensive than most everywhere else nearby.
Great team at Nantucket Moorings always makes for a pleasant stay in the great harbor. Office staff and folks on the water are responsive and very hospitable. Can't go wrong with a visit here.
Great location and services, the team was friendly and very helpful! See you next year!
We were told our mooring number was L1 we were delayed getting to the Island. We pre paid for this mooring so it should have been the one we were originally given. When we called in they changed it to E6 then they had us move to P9 then they a guy came by & said it was his mooring so we had to move it back to E6 .... There is no emergency call number if you are having issues they are just plain closed good luck on who is telling the truth about. mooring assignments....
As always, everybody at Nantucket Moorings so helpful. It’s always a pleasure.
Great location and great mooring. Probably the best maintained rental mooring I’ve ever picked up. Harbor master and staff are very helpful and friendly. The Town dingy dock is completely undersized for the anchorage that it serves. Boats are rafted 3 deep which is a safety concern. Town restrooms and showers are less than desirable. The staff do their best to keep them clean, but then again with the size of the mooring field they service it is a difficult task at best. Still a beautiful and comfortable anchorage.
Always friendly and helpful. Moorings are well maintained with adequate scope and ample room between boats. One of the better mooring fields around. I am always welcomed and thanked for staying with Nantucket Moorings. And of course Nantucket is a great island to visit.
Excellent service level. Equipment in A+ shape. Great access to lunch service. Karl check with me a few times to make sure that everything was OK. Quite impressive seeing there’s so many boats in the harbor. Highly recommend. Capt., Brad White, White Cap Charters, LLC.
The moorings and operation run by Nantucket Moorings couldn’t be better. They accommodated 4 sailboats, part of the Raft Up Crew (RUC) over a busy 3 day weekend this summer. The moorings are extremely well maintained, organized and offer plenty of room. In addition the mooring boat is available during the day to guide you to the mooring if needed. Moorings are well situated to watch all the comings and going’s on the harbor and to dinghy ashore. They use Dockwa which also streamlines the reservation process allowing them to be booked in advance. They also recently started offering some great merchandise and swag to bring the memories back home with us! Thanks to all at Nantucket Moorings and can’t wait to be back next summer! S/V Classy Lassy and the RUC!
If I could give more stars I would. These people are the best. Moorings a very well kept and everyone is very friendly and accommodating.
They were accommodating when we needed an extra night. Thanks
Excellent accommodations great staff could use a larger dinghy dock wonderful history great beaches will be back next year…
Cloud not make reservation due to gale warning, was charged full cost for 2 days. I doubt that we will return.
It was a fantastic stay. We were traveling with another boat, and they were kind enough to moor us adjacent during a very busy week. Thanks!
A wonderful stay, as always! Nantucket is a gem and the staff at Nantucket Moorings could not be more nice or helpful. Nothing but good things to say. Thank you!
Terrific service - they send one of their crew to guide you to your launch when you get into the harbor. Lots of launches available in the harbor even at peak times. We had an issue (self inflicted) and the crew was very helpful and responsive. Great experience and can’t wait to return!
Excellent staff. Very well operated! Superb service as always.
The moorings guide could not have been more helpful and patient. Facilities ashore are excellent. Thanks to Dockwa for making the booking so easy. NB
reservation process was seamless. Launch drivers were helpful above and beyond expectations (performing helpful tasks outside of delivering people back and forth) as well as well trained/talented in patience, politeness and respectful behavior. mooring field quite placid. was easy to sleep.
We were met and escorted to our boat. Friendly helpful service to go ashore. Comfortable food nights sleep All good
Very friendly, helpful launch drivers here. Thanks Will!
The mooring and the mooring company were great. BIG dissatisfier was the town dinghy dock. It’s loaded with resident large Whalers, many with motors up (exposing sharp propellers) and grass growing on bottoms. Every time we went in, we had to shove through two rows of “dinghies,” or crawl over two or three rows. It got so bad we sometimes took the very good launch, but they are $8 per person per trip, plus tips.
Always a pleasure to stay. This trip our fuel gauge failed on our dinghy and we ran out of fuel some distance away. The team came to our rescue and dragged us back to the mother ship. Fantastic service as usual.
Great service. Wonderful stay. Don’t like two night minimum or the price of $75/ night for a mooring.
Having used the Nantucket Moorings service multiple times over many years i can confidently say it is the best run, most friendly and smooth service boaters can find on the East coast . A great team effort there….
Enjoyed staying in Nantucket immensely. Thankful for the last minute reservation we were able to make that accommodated our showing up a day early .
Giving 4 stars (stars not working). Our pick-up stick was broken, useless. Td
Nice to be able to reserve a mooring. Flags and bridle are a really nice touch. Bathrooms could be better.
Great mooring field, beautiful scenery, nice management - will be back!
Beautiful setting, great service when you come in to find your mooring, nice restrooms and showers in shore. As mentioned in other reviews, the dinghy dock is a little crazy, with too many dinghies already tied up, many of them seemingly have been there a long time.
Harbor.Master services for mooring and pump outs, outstanding. Launch service.pricey. but attendants welcoming and helpful. Recovery from a possible dragging mooring body fixed quickly and hassle free
Great location. Mooring crew were a great help guiding us to our mooring ball. Quick dinghy ride to shore. Had a great stay.
The dinghy dock is by far the worst we’ve ever seen. The harbormaster response is “ we know”. But that doesn’t do anything to help. At least 75% of the dinghies have the motors up and r there permanently. There is NO ROOM other than tying up and crawling over two to three boats. Fiasco is the only word that describes this mess. We’re never coming back because of it
Always top-notch! Prompt and Professional! Strong hawsers with good, long leads. We came in with a 20 knot SW wind and the Nantucket Moorings tender was standing by with directions and assistance if needed.
Really good service. Moorings and lines in excellent condition. On the mooring for 4 windy days with passing squalls and thunderstorms and no problems at all. As other reviews have said, they will come out and guide you to your mooring.
Well spaced moorings. Nantucket Moorings was efficient. Town needs more dinghy docks. Folks at Marine Supply next to Harbormaster very friendly and helpful.
Two issues the dock for tenders is out of control. Yesterday a 3 engine center console came through the mooring field going about 20 knots pulling large wake. Dishes went flying. The harbor master is rarely out on the water. They need to give tickets so the word gets out. Very different from Block Island, their harbor master keeps people in check.
Staff and boat boys were helpful, informative, and professional, however given the high price of the mooring, available onshore facilities were poor or a long walk. The Town Dock restrooms and showers were uninviting and not well maintained. The facilities at the Boat Basin were decent, but a bit of a walk from the dinghy dock.
We got there about an hour earlier than check in. They were very responsive and escorted us our assigned mooring which was conveniently located near the dinghy dock. The moorings are very well maintained with plenty of room between boats.
Very friendly staff greeted us and directed us to our mooring. Excellent mooring balls that are very easy to pick-up from a higher deck. Not 5 stars because the shower/bathrooms run by the city (clean) are really old and uninviting.
It was the perfect spot!!! The Launches. We’re perfect friendly drivers! Loved it will be back!
Incredibly hospitable! Great people! Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Very efficient and having boats their to assist as needed. Very well organized harbor.
Great tackle, great spacing, welcoming party to assist when arriving. A+
It was a wonderful stay at Nantucket harbor. I would have given you a 5 if the facilities were clean!
Some challenges getting on our assigned mooring (it was occupied) after a long trip, and Kate night arrival. No after hours help even though we followed there directions carefully. The moorings and gear are top notch, suited for bigger boats and Nantucket it Nantucket. Some wakes, lots to do. Beautiful scenery.
Office staff very pleasant and accommodated us another day due to bad weather; however, some confusion with our reservation upon arrival (which is always a little stressful). Good mooring pick up and clean line. The bathrooms and showers at the Harbor department were very disappointing for such an upscale location and $75 mooring fee. Lots of signage reminding us to “ help keep it clean” but seriously seemed old and outdated. Short walk from the dinghy dock to town … watch the traffic! Unforgiving.
Great stay - greeted warmly by the service boat which met my boat and led me to my mooring. Good stout two line setup for the mooring. Pretty harbor.
The personnel at Nantucket Moorings are outstanding. The mornings are the highest quality. We always enjoy our stay there.
Great staff and overall great experience! Always enjoy the team at Nantucket moorings!
Great reception by the harbor master, moorings are in great shape and easy pole pick up with double bridle. Only negative is the town dinghy dock has very large dinghies and most dock with their engines up…a bit brutal.
Our Dockwa reservation indicated we should call Nantucket Moorings on 68 on arrival for a mooring assignment. We never got a coherent response on 68. After over twenty minutes we happened to see a Dockwa message including our mooring number. Clearly Dockwa and Nantucket Moorings are not coordinated.
They could not be nicer or more helpful. Can’t wait to return. 5 star service and attitude. Thank you!!
Moorings are nicely spaced, not crowded. Launch is friendly and helpful
Great experience; both making the reservation and my stay. Was greeted promptly after contacting on ch 68. Was escorted to my mooring. No issues with Harbor Launch and had a really fun time during Figawi!! Will definitely be back over the summer and in the fall (as well as next year's Figawi!!)
Great mooring field. Received a message before we arrived with our mooring info. Very easy. Can’t wait to return. Launch service was awesome. Big thanks to Pat, Emily, Jim and Steve. They made our stay perfect, especially since we had our dog Hattie with us, that needed frequent pickup’s. See you soon. Thanks again!
Great stay! Emily and Pat were great to deal with, always a smile on their faces!
Always a great summer stay on Nantucket Moorings. Thanks for another great season!\n\nBest,\nLisa & Rich Wilson
Lots of space between moorings. Great harbor location. We arrived after hours but had clear instructions via voicemail so we knew exactly where to go and where our mooring was located. Will use again
Have been sailing into Nantucket for 45 years and it always been a beautiful port. Unfortunately I have found the mooring prices of $150 per night for a 36 foot sailboat is high in comparison to other facilities in the New England area.
Great place, excellent mooings, very helpful. We will be back.
Well serviced moorings. Great ammenities along with the mooring. Exceptionally friendly young man at the fuel dock. ( curley blond headed young gentleman)
Beautiful place, helpful staff, access to shore via responsive and friendly launch service
Great spot and incredibly friendly and helpful staff. From first radio contact to escort to the mooring and the launch to the dock. Perfect. Thx.
Good island to visit! I spent 25 summers on Nantucket through 2013, now come back every other year for a short visit. It can be a little intimidating to get a reservation as I suspect anxious boaters snap up every reservation available once booking opens in the spring. When I tried one month in advance, there were no moorings available for a 5 day stay arriving Monday, departing Friday. I just stayed in touch with the staff, and got myself on a waitlist. Sure enough, a slot opened up about three days before we arrived, and indeed there were plenty of empty moorings around us (not sure if transient moorings, or locally assigned moorings that were not in use.) On arrival, a work boat met us in the channel, guided us through a crowded mooring field and handed up the lines so that we didn't have to go fishing with a pole. Launch service runs 8AM-midnight, or you can dinghy in. Fuel and pump out service available on the fuel dock, water service available on the "town" dock. We elected to check-in to a hotel for 4 days, but sleeping on the mooring would have been fine - amazing views and no noise issues.
Wonderful! Loved our mooring. Easy to pick up and great location. Thanks especially to Leigh for always being so helpful. We will see you soon!
Nantucket launch service great! Timeliness of service impressive. Also good ice. We had Emily, Will and Matt - they were friendly and efficient. Managed some challenging winds. Made the trips in and out easy for all. Thank you!
Mooring staff met us in their work boat when we entered the harbor and led us to our mooring which was very helpful. Expensive mooring but in good shape and close to town.
Pleasantly greeted upon arrival and thanked for visiting upon departure. Harbor launch was always quick to pick up!
Nice mooring set up. Easy to secure. Nice harbor. The launch is outrageous at 7 dollars per person one way but very friendly operators. Town extremely crowded but a lot of conveniences
Great mooring on the front Helpful staff Will be back!
I have been using Nantucket Moorings two weeks per year, for over a decade. Leigh in the office is great and always greets me cheerfully at the start of every season when I call her in April. The team on the harbor is very helpful and really keeps an eye out for me and all their customers, always at the ready if anything is amiss. Thank you to all at NM, GALAVANT and her skipper.
Wonderful time! All marina staff were very helpful and accommodating
Great staff! We really appreciated their attentiveness and flexibility. We got a late start on the day of checkin. They preemptively called to confirm our plans and pass on our assignment. On departure, they allowed us to stay a few extra hours on the mooring to allow a better weather window for our transit. Great place!
Great service they help you find your mooring great place to be
Very helpful. But just left the boat. And had a house.
Wonderful first stay in Nantucket, thank you for having us!
The shore staff and on-water help from Nantucket Moorings were outstanding They were professional, responsive and friendly. We had a great stay at Nantucket Moorings.
Stayed 3 nights on mooring Q-2. One day at up to 25 kn of wind. Staff was very helpful. Used only the excellent launch service. As always, Nantucket is a great place to visit, especially in the after season. Look forward to my return next year.
This is the ideal way to visit Nantucket. N. Moorings was even easier to use than ever before. We got our mooring assignment during the day, while we were enjoying a great sail. Efficient. Clean moorings. Looking forward to returning again next season.
Services offered on a Mooring are unmatched. From the mooring staff to the launch staff all are great.
Tim,Carl, and staff are very friendly and accommodating!!!
They met us as we were coming in and directed us to our mooring. Launch service was very timely. Everything was wonderful and the harbor couldn’t be more beautiful.
Nantucket Moorings is an awesome company. And Marshal and Steve on the launch are fantastic. Great stay.
Love this marina. Dave on staff was very helpful upon arrival. All staff very accommodating and helpful in dealing with Henri. Thank you all! See you next year!
There were 2 issues. The first mooring we were assigned to was still occupied. The second mooring had the lines all twisted underneath the ball.y husband hurt his shoulder trying to pull it up. The man on the service boat gave us no assistance. He said he had 2 other boats that he had to bring to their moorings. He never returned to find out if we were ok We were then assigned a 3 rd mooring. I would say we would only say 3 stars.
Staff was responsive to communications ... Thank you. Launch Service guys were great too. Look forward to next visit. Thank you.
Pleasant, professional support; well maintained morning balls; beautiful harbour.
Incredibly well run organization. Most accommodating and friendly folks. Thank you for a great stay! m/y GRACE
Nantucket Moorings' mooring buoys were large and well labeled. On arrival, a Nantucket Moorings dockmaster met us by boat, led us to our mooring buoy & stood by while we, awkwardly with our limited mooring experience, picked up the mooring. Call Nantucket Moorings on VHF 68 as you pass Brant Point light entering the Harbor, and they will meet you. After we were moored, the dockmaster came alongside and pointed the way to the Town Pier and gave us a couple of tips on local restaurants, etc. The mooring buoy had two pennants, one with a pick-up buoy with a mast. All components were in good shape. Each pennant was heavy (1-inch?) floating (polypropylene?) line and had a large eye (18 inches?). There being two pennants, and we were able to belay one each to our port & starboard bow cleats. (Most of our mooring experience has been in the Exuma Land and Sea Park in the Bahamas, where moorings typically have no pick-up buoy or mast and only a single pennant, through which one must feed a dock line belayed to bow cleats--sometimes a painful process.) Nantucket Moorings does not provide shore-side services, but in the Harbor there is a Town Pier with a dinghy dock (usually pretty crowded), trash receptacles, bathrooms & showers. The Town Pier also offers short-term docking for larger vessels at floating docks, for drop-offs & pick-ups. We were told that one may get free water there, but we didn't do so. Although we put our dinghy in the water, we used Nantucket Harbor Launch service for most of our trips between boat & shore ($6 per person each way). The Launch service runs 7AM to midnight in summer. We were picked every time within 10-15 minutes of calling for a pick-up (also VHF68). The ride to shore takes about 5 minutes, but the Launch may stop to pick up other people on the way. The Launch service's shore-side landing is on Straight Wharf, pretty much in the center of the waterfront area. (The Town Pier is a quarter of a mile farther south.) To return to your boat, just go to the landing; a Launch will show up in a few minutes. A sign in the Launch said that they will provide fresh-water wash-down service at one's mooring. We were told that the Launch service will also deliver ice. We didn't try either of these services & don't know their cost. There are very few slips available in Nantucket in summer. Moorings are also scarce but seem to be more available than slips. When we were there, a mooring was the only available option. We cruise in a power boat and prefer to be secured to a pier with shore power & water. Thus, the prospect of taking a mooring was daunting. Nantucket Moorings made the experience as painless as possible.
Great! Lee and Julie went to great lengths to accommodate my ever-changing schedule. Mooring field is well organized, moorings are in perfect condition and… everyone is REALLY nice (despite the over-crowded and super-busy nature of Nantucket in August).
Great venue. Continuous support in the mooring field by NM staff during the day
Great launch service and peaceful harbor. Town itself was crowded with lots of traffic.
You don't ask for much when you are on a mooring. However, the service was excellent. I was traveling alone and it was windy. They put one of their guys on board to help me pick up the mooring. c
We had a wonderful two nights at Nantucket moorings. This was our first time there so David helped us find our mooring. He was very helpful in giving suggestions for places to go on the island. Also, the pump out and launch service were prompt, which added to our experience. Thank you and we will be back! Joie de Vivre
The harbormasters were great. Help with finding are morning and stop and said goodbye on the morning that we were leaving. Thanks
Lovely harbor, of course! Good double pennants on moorings. Adequate dinghy dock. Very nice harbormaster! Only criticism is that the launch drivers drive at excessive speed in the mooring field. Several times, when they came close by our boat, they could plainly see us boarding our dinghy and yet still waked us badly.
The mooring are very nice to stay on. The boat launch is quick.
Awesome crew in the mooring assist boats, vhf radio and office. Couldn’t be happier with the service we received. We will be back! Thank you!
The staff are always super friendly and helpful, the grid layout of the field is super easy to follow, and the pickup penants & Y-bridles on every ball are awesome.
We had an awesome stay. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Thanks
Great time .. very responsive .. launch service prompt and friendly
It was a wonderful Father's Day weekend. We plan on making it an annual trip to Nantucket!! It's such a magical place!!
Nantucket harbor has a lot of moorings and Nantucket mooring co was super helpful vectoring me right to my spot. Launch was clean and timely too. All good.
Beautiful harbor but disappointed that the showers were not open and the launch was not available.
My first time to Nantucket. Staff were super helpful.
If there's a lower score than 1 I would have chosen that zero is a better score. I made a 2 day reservation and when I got to Nantucket no one answered Ch68 after hailing them multiple times. There were multiple boats doing the same. There was no launch service as stated on their web page. I did not bring my dinghy as the launch was scheduled to run until 12:00PM.
Great moorings. Well kept. Great location. Great town. Launch service always there and very responsive.
The team at Nantucket Moorings was awesome and we loved our mooring spot. Launch was great. Town pumpout service could not be easier. Would not change a thing. We can’t wait to be back. Thank you!
Very helpful service - they knew who i was and where my reservation was and gave great directions to get there. Had I wanted it, they were willing to escort me. We had a minor issue - the prior renter hadn't vacated yet and we had to circle while waiting; a little challenging in a 46' boat with a lot of traffic. We weren't too from the fuel or dinghy dock, nor from the beaches. Now for the locale: in one week we went to Oak Bluffs, Edgartown, Vineyard Haven, and Nantucket. ACK was the best! Easy, clean beaches to go to in the harbor or right outside, great shopping, yet not too pretentious. Great restaurants.
Nantucket Moorings is great because the people who run the operation provide first class customer service. Thank You!
Pilot boat right there to guide you to your mooring without waiting. The crew is absolutely generous and a pleasure for services. Great time we will be back
Very comfortable and staff were very friendly .
I was there for Hurricane/TS Isaias. The moorings are reportedly 4500lb and I felt very secure. The taco's at the dock were outstanding too.
Helpful staff, nice launch, close to town, all in a well protected harbor.
Cancellation policy if harsh but clearly stated. Refused to allow a different boat to use reservation even though it was allowed in the past. Manager refused to budge and said they had never done it in the past. I offered to forward them proof that it had but they refused to respond to any more messages. Never again. Just remember if you make a reservation and don't go or try to modify it they will pretty much deny even the smallest change and then sell the mooring for the summer rate. Keeping most of your money too.
Great besides the $6.00 per person shuttle launch from the boat to land each way.
Would not stay again unless there is no choice: we were initially offered a mooring beside the fuel and pump-out stations and the... pump-out material is literally floating around (our friends stayed there for two days and observed the same both days). After some arguing I was offered another, remote, mooring. Launch service is insanely expensive: $6 per person per ride.
Great place to stay, as always. Staff is friendly and helpful. We had to depart early for a threatened tropical storm, where the moorings must be vacated. They refunded unused time, for a weather departure. The town dinghy dock gets more crowded every year and there is ample room to expand. Needs to be done.
Friendly service and great mooring field equipment.
TOO TIGHT. was asked to move twice in two days. moved once. Aside from that, Nantucket was generally rude and their mask law while walking outdoors was insane. You can sit 4 feet from someone in a restaurant with no mask but God forbid you want to walk down the street alone some arrogant 'old fart' will approach you to yell about the stupid mask. Happened three times. WILL NEVER GO BACK. Bad experience started with the mooring and ended when we left early.
Great Staff and excellent services. All public areas were spotless.
Perfect as always. Friendly, responsive, quick launch service.
Very nice helpful staff. Pricey but it’s Nantucket. Mooring lines very new Great 3 night stay
Nantucket moorings was great Met us in the harbor Showed us to out mooring.. etc Great visit
As always Nantucket Moorings provides excellent service. They Call to confirm that we will be there before 5 when they close. Offering to show us to our mooring as we enter the harbor. Easy to pick up mooring with the attached stick, no boat hooks or threading with your own line. Mooring line barnacle free.
Incredibly friendly and calling before we arrived to let us know when the office closed was very thoughtful.
Great place, great customer service from the moorings
Great mooring, easy dinghy ride or call the launch to the island
Love staying in Nantucket. Nantucket Moorings and Harbor Launch are always willing to help out and are a great crew to deal with.
As I hailed Nantucket Moorings when entering the harbor, they immediately responded with, 'We see here that you have a reservation with us.' I was then escorted directly to my mooring. After, I was briefed in person about the amenities of the mooring field and any questions I had. Great service.
No problems once there, but when we arrived on 8/24 they said we had no reservation. But they found us a mooring and we had a good stay. Then on 8/31, they called us to ask if we were going to keep our mooring reservation for that day. Explained that the reservation had been for the prior week (I have the PDF receipt that confirms the date), and they had no explanation for why this had happened. Do not know whether the problem was at Nantucket Moorings or at Dockwa.
Cancellation policy is harsh. Requirement of two night minimum and full deposit is forfeited when weather prevents a stay.
Very responsive and helpful service, an organized group that has its act together. Separately run launch service was good.
There was a mistake in our reservation arrival date that was probably our fault and they were so kind to move reservations around to accommodate us even though they were completely full for our arrival dates. it would have been a terrible inconvenience if we were turned away after coming from East Hampton NY. These guys are great!!!!!
Good clean mooring tackle. Facilities however are pretty disgusting.
Fantastic! Spent ten days on a mooring. Service was great, and the mooring tackle was in tip top shape. My mooring was ready for me and I loved the fact that I was shown to my spot rather than milling around the mooring field looking for it and, when I was having an issue with my rigging, the owners helped me find someone to assist with a fix. Looking forward to coming back next year!
Nantucket Moorings, along with Nantucket Launch Svc runs a first class business. Staff are fun, helpful and respectful. We were able to extend our stay on our primo located mooring with a simple phone call. Such a pleasant change after the former operators. On another note, we are finding that having an account with Dockwa is somewhat akin to having a private membership. Reservations are a breeze. Thanks so much. Suzy Moore S/V Silver Girl
Great service, boat on hand to guide to the mooring.
First time our family of seven have ever stayed on a mooring. Let alone for 4 days! Nantucket is expensive! But, there are so many great restaurants to please any palate. Being on a boat, we tend to travel by foot. So, we spent too much time in the center. A rainy day island tour from Ana's Tours provided a good history and sights. We had rain or clouds for 2 days, but day 3 allowed us a beach day. Best Beach - Surfside. Best party venue - Ciscos brewery/distillery/winery!
Mooring was solid, office was responsive, launch was helpful, island is very interesting and well worth a visit.
Leigh was wonderful to work with - she called to confirm arrival time & provided mooring number in case we didn't arrive before the staff left for the day (5pm). Lovely location & launch service was fabulous! The Whaling Museum is a must see!
Everything was well organized and everyone was so helpful. A great experience.
We felt very inferior. The beautiful people
Late in the season, Nantucket Moorings isn't staffed on weekends, but the nightly rate is still high. The dinghy tie-up at the Harbormaster's town dock is still very crowded, and the restrooms are often locked. We had to call the town police to get the Harbormaster to come unlock the (old and poorly maintained) restrooms, or take the hike to the (new and well-maintained) public restrooms at Nantucket Boat Basin.
There is no nicer or more economical way to visit Nantucket than by mooring in the harbor. The mooring field is spacious and well organized. The view of the wharves and mega-yachts is magnificent, especially at night. My arrival was aided by very friendly and helpful Nantucket Moorings staff. My only criticism is that the shower facilities are deplorable. Besides being very worn they were the filthiest I’ve encountered in my years of cruising. The second evening that I showered there I made sure to bring my flip-flops. For $60 a night we cruisers deserve better facilities. I hope that there is renovation and a new cleaning staff before my next visit. Mitch Gilbert, s/v Pleiades
Enjoyed it completely Tim ( launch owner operator ) was awesome . Thank you for nice weekend
Shower, toilets etc was at a level that had us disgusted. When calling for action, Nantucket Moorings said it is not there responsibility and that "what should we expect in August." "We should be so lucky to be in Nantucket" - kind of like - " How dare you call to complain." Arrogance was at a level that we decided to leave early.
The staff of Nantucket Moorings were helpful and responsive. As we came into the harbor, they met us and directed us to our mooring, making sure we had no difficulties picking it up and then chatting with info about the launch and other services. The harbor was full but still they were able to accommodate us coming in a day early. The only downside was that the harbor had a fair amount of chop, which is more the fault of nature and geography than the staff, but still, we did find sleeping difficult with the banging and clattering of our, and neighboring boats rocking so much.
beautiful harbor, very nice moorings. Launch service is extra cost. Town dinghy dock is always packed, very undersized.
Always greeted politely and service is perfect . They make you feel welcome as returning family
Nantucket Moorings allows Honda generators on the sterns and multiple barking dogs all night- all at a price 2X the going rate! Two required nights!
The island is beautiful. The moorings and facilities are excellent. The launch is $10 per person per ride, ridiculous. We used our dinghy to get to town. Would definitely return.
Moorings are perfectly maintained. Booking is well organized, and Nantucket Moorings boat was very helpful in finding the mooring and tying up. Really nice place to stay.
Great place to stay. Brought me directly to my mooring. Made sure we got on OK and then came by later to offer some information on our surroundings and let us know that if we needed anything to give them a call on the radio.
Sorry, I can’t recall his name, but the guy who showed us to our mooring was super nice and answered our questions. The condition of the mooring ball and painters were best we’ve ever seen. Our stay would have been better if we received a map of town, pamphlets, etc. when we picked up the mooring ball. The showers and bathrooms reminded me of ones at a well worn out public camp for kids... not what you’d expect when you pay so much for a mooring... $148 for one night? That was not the advertised Dockwa price, and we were not in the 2 night minimum time frame.
Leigh called to tell us where our mooring was because no one was available to show us to it. She went beyond good customer service even reassigning us a mooring closer to town. We'll rent for a week next year!
Stay was great. Helped me put the mooring line on in big wind and always responsive on the radio when I called. Launch guys super great also in the wind and rain. See you again! And thank you.
Location is beyond great, staff were super friendly and helpful. There is a pumpout boat and free pumpout and water at the end of the town dock. Supermarket is a 5 minute walk away from the dinghy dock. The only negatives: the dinghy dock was overcrowded (but there is launch service as an alternative) and the restroom facilities at the Harbormaster's office are very overdue for a good cleaning and repair. Despite this we will be back!
Staff were all gracious and accommodating ....can't wait until next season!
Good stay and prompt attention - launch service provided by someone else at $5 per head each way which ain’t cheap
Very quiet mooring field, but of you want hustle and bustle, short dinghy ride or launch into town can get you to hustle and bustle.
Great service. Thanks for the great mooring location for Tango on I1!!!
Professional crew in the office and on the water with excellently maintained moorings at a very reasonable price in Nantucket. Love this harbor - Nantucket Moorings is my #1
Mooring was great, staff was friendly and helpful locating the mooring. But the showers & bathrooms were poor and dirty.
Very accommodating. Was met at entrance to the harbor and escorted to mooring with easy to grab pick-up buoy. Was then greeted alongside the boat with detailed harbor information.
It's great having the grocery store a short bike ride or walk from the dinghy dock!
Mooring staff are all spectacular in their skills and professionalism. The town is a delight and the scenery wonderful. Bring wads of cash and enjoy.
Our stay in Nantucket was delightful on the whole. Our mooring location, E5, however, wasn't ideal. The tide/wind conflict meant that about half the time we and the boats around us were bumping up against our mooring balls. There was an old wooden Hinckley next to us whose mooring ball would squeak loader than an Osprey in these circumstances. This part of the mooring field also seemed to be heavily trafficked by small motor boats and RIB's traveling over 5 knots and making wake. I'd hope for a mooring further up next time? The new guys running the launch (Waypoint Marine) seem happier than the old guys....
The Nantucket Moorings is a great place to stay. They are very helpful. They cruise the mooring field and make sure you have everything you need. We are already planning to go back.
Stern to bow swinging room... only inches to spare. Does not make for calm approach on arrival. And when the wind's up, not so restful nights...
Promptly directed to our mooring. Launch service ashore is good. The cost might catch some off guard although the price is not unfair at $5 per person per trip. Supplementary information about launch service and dinghy docks is necessary.
