The Boston Harbor Sailing Club is a professional sailing school and membership club founded in 1974 to offer high-level sailing instruction and, through memberships, make Boston, Marblehead, Buzzards Bay and New England waters accessible and affordable to the public. The Club owns 67 yachts 23 to 39 feet and is a prominent feature on the Boston Waterfront. We operate on channel 10 out of the Barking Crab Marina in the Seaport. There is reduced rate parking nearby. Please contact us for more information or a tour of Club vessels.
The Launch is available from 9am - 9pm daily. Hail VHF CH 10 for assistance.
Great asset for the Boston sailing community!
I was not given information on how to contact the launch service at BHSC. When I got to Rowes Wharf there was no one available to tell us. I texted the person (Adam) who scheduled the boat for me. He was about to board a flight but luckily I caught him in time for him to let me know what to do. I suggest you provide this information on your website. There were numerous small problems with the boat (a broken fitting on the mast caused the halyard to snag, the key mechanism is so weather-worn that it was difficult getting the engine started, there were no instructions on where to find the fuel gauge) but we were able to work around them. In addition there was trash left in various places by the previous renters that hadn't been cleaned up.
Very nice & helpful folks. Moorings in good shape. Good location. Only one with a launch service. It ain’t a yacht club launch , but it gets the job done and runs 9a-9p
It was an absolutely fantastic day on the water. Thank you Adam and Jake!
The BHSC needs to let folks know they are no longer connected to Rowes Wharf. No showers. Rest rooms or laundry. Drop off is at the Aquarium dock - climb up tires- or Barking Crab - walk thru there trash area. The launch is great and Eric was really helpful showing us the public docks at Barking Crab where we were able to lock the dinghy to stay out later than 9pm when the launch stops. Launches could use some TLC….. Moorings are really centrally located and convenient for exploring Boston ….
The location is wonderful, but the facilities are poor. The mooring lines were so badly frayed that I was concerned for the safety of the boat. The launch was ancient, and did not operate according to the posted schedule. It was difficult to get into and out of and. It was necessary to climb on old mounted tires to get onto the dock.
Staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
Great location a good service
Great stay. Great location. Great staff. What more could you ask for?
Great people great location
Great location and price. Launch service very easy and convenient. I would say make sure you have cash, it’s an hourly rate and not sure how you would pay without dealing with launch driver directly.
Amazing location with wonderful views of the city. Launch is included and the drivers were unfailingly courteous and helpful. We’ve been cruising for just a few months but this is absolutely my favorite mooring! Reasonable rates and great access to everything. Close enough to the New England Aquarium to hear the sea lions barking… Thanks for being such great hosts!
Wonderful time with Boston Harbor Sailing Club. Mooring was excellent, beautiful views in all directions. Launch service was the highlight—all 3 launch captains made us feel quite at home. Best we’ve had since Maryland (big surprise for the big city!). Thank you, we will look forward to coming back.
We loved our stay and will be back again. Great people, great location, nothing fancy, just perfect.
