This is our second stay at Charlestown and proved that their quality service is consistent! Coupled with the outstanding location, this quiet marina will be on our visit plan for 2025 from Portland, Maine for an extended stay.
Basic service crew was helpful.
Excellent. Facility maintained perfectly with great service…Location requires uber/lyft to every where
Bathrooms clean and dock staff helpful and responsive. Thank you
Great stay. Top notch marina
Weather was perfect, Marina staff was attentive. We've been here many times. WIFI was a little sketchy, but we cruise to get offline, so small annoyance.
Kudos to Matt and his team for their exceptional resourcefulness during the storm. While every other marina declined us and Charlestown was at capacity, Matt ingeniously rearranged several boats to accommodate us. Charlestown Marina stands out as exceptionally well-managed, featuring excellent docking facilities in a prime yet tranquil location. While not situated amidst tourist hotspots, it's conveniently accessible via a short bike or Uber ride. We relished the serene, aesthetically pleasing, and secure environment. We fully intend to return and wouldn't hesitate to endorse this marina to fellow boaters.
Clean well done facility with nice harbor walking areas and local destinations.
Quietest urban marina I have experienced. Excellent facility, well maintained. Prompt, helpful service. Great location for walking. Found wonderful tastes and flavors at DOVETAIL. Best dish at our table was spaghetti with lobster.
Marina is first rate. Great services and easy to access.
Expensive yet clean, solid, friendly and great location.
We absolutely love sailing into Boston and we were so happy to discover Charlestown Marina last year. It has become a place we shall sail to every summer from The Hamptons. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Michelle in administration always spent gracious time being so helpful! Abby tried to help with a laundry debacle. The facilities are okay—the laundries now use an app, and the app malfunctioned for me, and that was annoyingly time -consuming. But we don’t stay at Charlestown for the facilities. We stay for the deep, protected and secured harbor. The nice docks, and the welcoming and very proficient staff. We also have come to love the Charlestown neighborhood. Biking all around. The ever-developing waterfront here is vibrant and invigorating. We love the new docks installed on Pier 6, and enjoy eating in the restaurant there. We keep finding more and more cool and delicious, sophisticated restaurants tucked away on quaint blocks. Nate and Abby in the marina are the best!! Thank you, Charlestown Marina—we can’t wait until next year!
The issues were around lack of communication. First, the marina shuts down at 6pm, even in the middle of the summer, and it doesn't say that anywhere in the reservation process. Second, the security guard who eventually showed us to our slip didn't meet us at the outermost dock where we agreed to meet-that delayed getting to our slip by around 30 minutes. Third, the office said they would email or text me a map of the marina indicating where our slip was - they never did that so I had no idea where to go and it put all the responsibility on the security guard, which wasn't fair to him in my opinion. Fourth, I signed up for the free pumpout during the reservation process and they said they didn't have a record of me signing up when I checked the following morning. We eventually did get the pumpout, but it wan't until 11:30 the following morning. Fifth, there was no information provided on the checkout process, particularly what to do with the cards that unlock the security gates. I ended up hanging them on the electric/water station and letting them know that's where they were, but it would have been a simple matter to provide instructions on what to do with them. Sixth, they had free WiFi but they didn't provide any info in the envelope they left with the security guard, so I had to obtain it at the office the next morning. It would have been very simple to either provide the info in the envelope or email or text the info prior to check in. Like I said, poor communication was the issue. The facility itself seemed fine.
Wonderful facility, excellent dockhands (Keith was very helpful). Had a few too many administrative snafus to be 5 star, including communication regarding the free launch l, how to obtain fuel and booking pumpout. Would definitely stay again if in Boston Inner Harbor.
Great marina. Clean and quiet but close to restaurants and fun!
Great spot, we come here every year. Always a good stay, easy access to everything
Great staff, very courteous. Nice docks and facilities.
Clean, good service, docks are in great shape.
Great place to stay for the 4th of July weekend! So much to see and do right from the dock!
Charleston Marina is in a great place in Boston Harbor. It is convenient to Boston and Cambridge. It has no fuel dock, but there are other fuel docks close by. It is a bit awkward arranging a pump out, but it can be done. The marina has a parking lot, but it is usually 'full', meaning it is reserving spaces for someone else. Use Uber or Lyft rather than renting a car.
If you like a frat party atmosphere this place is for you- the Marina allows boat owners to party on the deck outside their boats all week and late into the night. Nice spot but make sure you ask for a spot away from frat row- especially the larger boats they are right along your dock.
Great visit. Beautiful spot and convenient location
Everything was great! Great location, and if you figure out the walking paths, can easily walk to North End or Garden! Only negative is, the bathroom situation isn't great. Trailers at Pier 6 were ok, but were backed up and shut down one day on us, so went over to Pier 8 office baths to take a shower, not a great set up and absolutely no water pressure! The staff were fantastic and we very much enjoyed our stay! We will be back, for sure!
A little pricey but not surprising for metropolitan area. Very nice marina facilities. Helpful dockhands assisted with locating the slip and tying up. Nice location near Bunker Hill and Constitution. Bit of a walk to the North End restaurants but nice way to spend a couple days in the city.
Great location… close to the city, but still quiet and relaxing. Staff were all great as well. Fantastic marina. We will be returning!
The staff were all extremely helpful and personable. The docks are gorgeous and the marina is located in Charlestown Navy Yard, great location. Our favorite place to visit!
Friendly helpful staff. Convenient location. Good facilities. I was on the H dock and it was a hike to the facilities the way the marina is set up. Also I was wanting a pump out and it never seemed convenient for them (didn’t happen) even though they have a pump out port at every slip.
Good size marina not far from Boston. Very accommodating staff and a good restaurant on the property. The hot water in the showers took a long time to get hot and the Cancellation policy is terrible.
Nice docks, location, people. This time there has been a severe shortage of dock carts. It may be time to require tradesmen to provide their own. Guys washing boats should not monopolize several carts all day when paying customers are having to make multiple trips carrying groceries, laundry, etc…
So calm. Quiet. Clean. Great staff. B
Great as always. Will return some day.
Great staff and marina. location so so
Staff was fantastic. Facility's were great!
Terrific marina. Top notch dock crew.
Nice docks. Location a little removed but Uber available. Paul met us to assist with lines during a downpour. Elizabeth was especially pleasant on the VHF and a real asset to Charlestown Marina
Great staff. Excellent docks.
The Marina is well run. Chris the Dockmaster was very responsive and helpful with all of our needs. In his absence his team were also helpful. If we are lucky enough to return to Boston we we be staying at the Charlestown Marina.
Great location and very nice facility. Second transient stay for us.
Nice location staff is friendly and helpful. Many amenities to make your stay super comfortable and enjoyable.
Dockmaster Chris and his staff are very professional and make you feel right at home. They are always ready to assist. Thank you!
All ways good. The place to stay when going to Boston. New facilities and cheaper than staying right in Boston. Uber easily where ever
Excellent stay!! Helpful staff and convenient location.
This marina is top shelf all the way. New floating docks, best dock hands around! Very clean and very helpful. Definitely worth checking out if you stay in Boston. I won't dock anywhere else.
Always great spot to stay when visiting Boston - great docks, services and staff Charlestown a gem.
Real nice docks. Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Parking available but pricey for a marina in general at $25 per day....but good for 24 hours with “in and outs” allowable. The only significant negative was the wi-fi. Weak signal and could not get an internet connection overnight.
Very happy with the facilities. A quiet night.
Great marina and staff. Docks are gorgeous and the staff could not have been more helpful.
OUTSTANDING! ! Everyone, Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The staff, other boaters. The dock hands were friendly, knew what they were doing. We are cruising with 2 kids, 10 and 12, We docked and were met by a livaboard family. We ended up having a pot luck dinner with them. Highly recommend this marina
Great facility. Need a map of the docks as they are confusing when arriving. Request a slip away from the face dock for a less bouncy night.
first time there, easy in and out marina staff very courteous and helpful
