This marina was a very positive surprise for our stay in the NYC area. We left Canada late July and wanted to find a marina close to Liberty Island and accessible to Manhattan. When searching for a marina I found it a challenge to find one that had calm water as the ferries in the area really throw a nice wake almost all day long and most marinas won't tell you about the wakes. The Liberty Landing Marina has lots of slips but at $7.50 per foot it is expensive and there is no way to get from that side of the water channel at night because the ferries do not run after 6:30 pm. We found a diamond in the rough with Hudson Point Marina. Not only was it small, but it had calm water, excellent power and water, and there was a deckhand there when we arrived. Prior to our arrival, they sent us info on the slip number, codes to the washroom/showers and at is a privately owned marina with access to the ferry, to the Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty plus a 10 minute walk to the NYC PATH to either World Trade Center or to theTimes Square area..... they are inexpensive ways to get around the area. When I needed a pumpout, I called the staff at Hudson Point Marina and they connected me with Liberty Landing and within 1 hour they sent a boat with pumpout, and did it at the dock for $15. Now, that was a pleasant surprise and a great deal. We stayed 6 nights at Hudson Point Marina and cannot say enough good, positive things about our stay. We would visit here again. The only drawback was there were no laundry facilities but the washrooms and showers were clean and welcoming. A BIG thank you to the owners of the marina and their deckhand for making our visit positive. We have good memories of our stay.
