You will be disapointed in Boot Key Harbor if you are looking for a resort atmosphere and amenities. The restroom and shower facilities are basic concrete buildings. There is no pool or bar/ restaurant. (Although there are several in the area, either within walking distance or a short cab ride.)
What you will find is a vibrant comunity of live aboards and semi transient cruisers. The mooring field is very proffesionaly run. We spent 3 nights here waiting on a weather window to get to Key West, and when the skies cleared, we didn't want to leave! Everyone we came across was friendly and helpfull.
