Rod 'N' Reel Marina

If I could give this place 0 stars I would: Let's talk about the marina. First, trying to get ahold of anyone at the front desk was extremely difficult due to some automation answering system. 30 minutes out we gave them a call to figure out where our slips where. No radio channel to call, no deckhands. Now this part is partially my fault but usually I bring a few extra dock lines just in case but, there was nothing at the slips to dock up... Nothing. There were no cleats, no bumpers, and no one there to help out. Again I forgot shore power cables but they didn't have anything. Compared to tolchester or Chesapeake inn ( which is the same price) there was nothing. It was extremely windy coming in out of nowhere and they put us in the top of the T instead of any the empty slips on the side which could have easily fit my boat. The boat next to us was getting completely annihilated slamming into the finger pier, destroyed the rub rail and broke boards on the pier. I did my best to help but didn't want to go on someone else's property. No one cared. No urgency to help when we told them we didn't have extra rope for the lines (why don't any of the pillars have any lines?). I will say though, their bathroom for marina users was very nice and the manager in charge gave us fresh towels. The bathroom had a sauna inside and that was a very nice feature. There was only 1 person helping the marina and I'm sure this is more the hotel scheduling error than the individual. I don't know if I'd actually ever come back by boat.

Had help tying up. Great location on the bay. Good restaurants and short walk to full grocery store and pharmacy. Wife not happy with showers inside the hotel as there is really no privacy. Will go back.

Great location, helpful staff, one of the very few marinas that offers monthly rates in addition to annual.

It was awesome. The marina is beautiful the resort it’s a resort area so it’s really nice. Great restaurants. The staff at the marina is amazing. Definitely will come back here again.

The dock staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. The slip was more than adequate for our needs. We’ll be back

Great views and helpful staff. Docks are somewhat rundown and the trex decking is slippery (not a marine grade product). The marina is shoaling and we had 4' at low tide on an outer slip. Dredging and a big hotel expansion are coming that will include a much needed outdoor pool. Looking forward to improvements because the marina has so much potential.

Brian was very helpful giving us a tour and checking us in, staff all over were very pleasant. Dinner at 1936 was fantastic and I can wait to visit when the rooftop pool is completed!

We stay here about once or sometimes twice a year. It’s an okay place to stay. Going into the hotel to shower and use the restroom isn’t the most ideal situation for a boat person. It’s a nice facility though. Always things happening. We go because we like to walk the dogs on the boardwalk and look for sharks teeth. Warning- some of the slips on ‘B’ dock are really shallow and we had to move out quite a bit because we ran aground in the first slip.

We arrived by boat. The marina didn't answer the VHF radio when I hailed them. When I called, I was told they don't monitor it! The current into the inlet to the marina is swift and the inlet is very narrow, so you better be precise. The dock is not a floating dock and was full of bird manure. The restaurant staff was pleasant, the food was ok. We did get our appetizers served with our meals, which was a disappointment. The casino was a small room with slots. I'm 50 and was the youngest person in the room by at least a decade. All in all we had an fair experience. Most likely we won't be back.

This is a resort that happens to have boat slips. It's not run like a Marina. They do not answer a hail nor do they send someone out to show you the slip. The slip numbers are nailed in the decking on the docks. So not visible from a boat trying to find a slip. The approach is extremely shallow, less then 4 feet at high tide. It used to be worth the effort to go to the Rod n Reel restaurant. However the food was mediocre as well as service and prices are a bit high. $37 for a lukewarm ribeye. We will not be returning.
