About
In 1950, Grandpappy Point Resort and Marina was just a small fishing camp established off the shores of Lake Texoma. Today, Grandpappy Point is a full-service marina that spans over 180 acres in Denison, Texas. We offer full range service and maintenance departments, a fully stocked parts department, and an easy access fuel dock stocked with snacks and beverages. Our day use area and covered pavilions are great for reunions, parties, and events. And if you plan on staying longer than the day we also provide boat slip rentals and dockominiums, as well as renovated cabins, camping, and R/V site amenities to accommodate your stay.
If you don’t own a boat don’t worry, we sell them too, our Yacht Sales department sells both powerboats and sailboats. We also have pontoon boats, ski boats, stand-up paddle boards, and kayaks for rent.

This place is kind of fantastic; close to Dallas, great marina, great restaurant, friendly and all that. I had to write a review for the very-very-very small and unusual layout of the Cabin toilet room. OMG, the premium cabin next to the pavilion has a toilet room that even the girls have to sit side-ways on. Sorry for the visual, there just isn't any other way to describe it. There are two cabins right next to the pavilion, the closest to the lake has a ridiculous toilet room. There is only one toilet room in the cabin. Literally, there is 18" in front of the toilet. OMG, someone has to change that right away. I have never stayed in a place with such tiny clearance around the toilet. Please fix it; cabin cost is not discounted for the tiny toilet area. TFYI, I have picked another cabin the last two year and refuse to take this crappy cabin with the tiny toilet. Sorry, just saying...
I had the most amazing weekend! It was everything I was looking for! So peaceful and stress free. I had rented a one bedroom cabin but when I got there the wifi wasn't working. Dez and Danny were amazing, they went above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable and what I expected. They upgraded me to a 2 bedroom cabin at no extra cost! It was wonderful! They are a big reason as to why my stay was so awesome! I would recommend Grandpappys's to anyone! Also, the restaurant had great customer service and food! Thanks again Dez and Danny for going above and beyond! 😊
Bought boats from dealerships, with brokers, and private individuals.....but I have never dealt with a more honest and stand up guy as the Sales Manager/Broker at Grandpappy Yachts. I had never met Rick Lemons before my purchase, but knew him only from our straightforward email conversations. He went beyond the call to serve both the seller and the buyer for my recent purchase. Something I can appreciate having just recently sold my smaller vessel. It takes a talented gentleman not to jump ship when problems arise.... I was pleased to find Rick to be a not only a problem solver, but a person who is excited about his craft. Thanks again for a great job!!! I'm personally glad to have had a chance to deal with a person who took this to the next level making this a n enjoyable boating experience.
