Report Review

The review below was from my first stay several years ago. My additional recommendation from this stay is to avoid staying here if the wind is North to East. The mooring field is totally exposed to the NB East Passage. Waves seemed to be funneled into it. I just spent the most “Rock and Rolly” night of my boating career. 9/20/25 I just stayed 2 nights at Safe Harbor Jamestown Boat Yard. I’ve been to Jamestown before, but this is my first stay at JBY. My experience was excellent. I arrived in boisterous weather courtesy of Hurricane Teddy. Crew member Hallie kindly guided me to a relatively protected inner mooring next to an initially ominous big rock. I came to like it. The quarters were tight for my 34 ft sloop, but it proved to be an excellent mooring. The first night was quite bouncy, but view of NB East Passage and Newport was awesome, especially at night. The accommodations are hardly posh, but most adequate. I had use of their motorized dinghy after hours, which was most convenient. During working hours the staff was most accommodating with launch service. I spent one afternoon biking to Beavertail State Park. The scenery going and there was beautiful. Don’t miss this. I look forward to staying at JBY next cruise East. Cap’n Mitch Gilbert s/v Pleiades, Safe Harbor Pilots Point Marina, Westbrook, CT
