This place is like a little slice of some northeastern Americana someone picked up and dropped just off the ICW in Southern Florida. Tucked away about one nautical mile from the river, it's sheltered from the wind and the currents are negligible.
Mike, the owner, met us at the dock, helped us tie up, and told us about some of the history—they've been there since 1896, and some of the old signage is up in various places as decoration. It's funny to see some of the rates for dockage back then...
He recommended an Irish Pub up in town - which is a very short walk away and we absolutely loved the food and the live entertainment of a small four-piece ensemble doing Irish music.
They have an outdoor kitchen and social area, and the liveaboards hang out there in the evenings. The bathrooms are clean and air-conditioned, the showers are immaculate, and it's tranquil and serene at night.
100% recommended.
