Kanaka Public Visitors Dock

Great overnight at this public dock. Easy access to the best of Ganges. Wharf manager, Norm, is a great host full of suggestions to make the most of our stay. Showers and washrooms were impeccably clean. $1 for a long hot spacious shower. Lots of room for our 50’ Bavaria charter for a starboard docking.

We were moored at Ganges, BC Kanaka marina ("government dock")from 8/6/2019 to 8/8/2019, and were disappointed in the lack of response to our complaints about condition of restrooms, just adjacent to the HAASI (Harbour Authority). We initially complained that the restrooms (2) were in poor condition, with dirt and debris on floors, and trash cans overflowing. After complaining the first time, the trash cans were dumped, but floors were still filthy. It's apparent to me, that the workers doing maintenance/janitorial work do not care about maintaining clean bathrooms. As a public agency, there Harbour Master needs to insist on clean conditions maintained at all times in tenant restrooms. Think twice before obtaining moorage here.
