The marina very nice. Just a warning to any Great American Looper on transient dock to be ready to be insulted by the dock master, Frank! If you try to help dock your OWN boat or assist your BUDDY boat. You will be rudely repremended by Frank! You will then be warned that this is “HIS DOCK AND HE RUNS THE BEST DOCK THERE IS! SO IF YOU WANT TO GET ALONG WITH HIM you may consider to LEAVE HIM ALONE TO DO YOUR LINES!!’ Futhermore, If you try to assist your “Buddy Boat” he will order you not to and that he cannot possibly get along with you!
In our year of doing the loop around the US and Canada and now ready to cross our wake. He was the rudest, angriest person we have encountered. He also, called on our cell and made it clear that we were to call him as we approached the marina. We called and he did not answer his phone. He was angry over that and told us that he was helping another boat! Ok! Understandable but that really is not our fault. He did not try to call us back yet he was extremely angered by it.
Final thought:
Funny thing was once he tied our lines he sat on his little bike and glared at us not assisting in any other way. We were very confused by his behavior. A horrible experience with this angry man and a poor representation of a nice place to dock!
The facility deserves 5 Stars except for Frank we gave 4! Probably will seek out a different choice of dockage next visit to beautiful St Pete!
