Brand: ValvTect; Octane: 90;Due to storm damage, the marina is not currently accepting transient reservations. We have a tentative schedule for the first work barge to arrive 11/25 and the second one 12/5. We are hopeful the damaged pilings and pier section repairs can be finished by late December, and we can back to normal early next year. Thank you for your patience.
The new Pier is a wonderful experience, and no better place to stay then City of St. Petersburg Marina. The staff are very professional, especially Don who managed our visit. The fellow boaters were very friendly. You are within a block of the Loop Trolley and downtown activity. Fun times, and looking forward to staying again soon.
It would have been five stars, however, no fault of the marina staff, but we lost power for an entire night due to utility work that was being done. Other than that, the facility was clean and staff was fantastic both upon arrival and departure. Fuel prices were also very reasonable. All in all a good experience and we will return to this marina.
The city does a great job and the info they share at check in is helpful for planning some fun days. Facilities are not fancy but clean and welcoming.
Very adequate and convenient to St Pete activities but this great facility is ready for an update especially with the new pier going in next door which is going to make the marina look shabby by comparison. Wi-fi system is essentially useless. Still love this marina because of its ideal location and excellent staff but I do wish the wi-fi was adequate. Frank is a prince and always cordial, helpful and professional. Love coming here and will be back soon. LT We visit St Pete Municipal Marina very regularly and are never disappointed. Its proximity to all that St Petersburg has to offer, which is extraordinary, easily compensates for the shortcomings associated with the age of the facility. Plus, they usually have the best fuel prices in the area. We go to St Pete often and always stay at the municipal marina. It is convenient to everything in the downtown area and the staff is outstanding...always courteous and helpful. If you like museums don't miss the James Museum.
Excellent location and great staff. We visited for the first time over Labor Day weekend in 2024 and couldn't have had a better time. The facility is showing some age, but it is well-maintained. Thank you to Don and Kathy for an enjoyable stay. We will be back.
Second stay just like the first - great staff, Thank You Don, and great location!!! First stay - The Dock hand Kathy was fabulous - great communication prior to our arrival- the SP market was in full swing Saturday and is within easy walking or biking distance as is Doc Fords which has great food and had an upbeat vibe when we were there -
Emergency stay due to lightening strike. Staff was super accommodating and volunteered local knowledge. Would certainly recommend and stay here again
We had a great 2-night stay. The fuel dock is so easy to get to, and the dock master allowed us to check in a bit early since the transient dock was not crowded. The showers were excellent. Downtown St. Pete has great restaurants and bars.
We stayed at the transient dock for 3 nights. The power was perfect for the first two days, but on our 3rd it was variable. The showers were clean, but showing significant age and some electrical components (fan) was hanging (inoperable) from the ceiling. The location is great (access to downtown St. Pete) and its well protected from the bay. Overall a good stay, but some investment in facilties here is warranted.
Power on dock not good. Docks need to be updated. No service on transit Docks
We had a great stay. It started with Don who tracked my progress and was waiting for me at the dock. He helped us get tied up and hooked up. Showed me where to walk my dog , take my trash and pointed out several local places for us to visit. Then I left my phone in the bathroom and the custodian took it to the office. The bathroom was spotless so I don’t know why he was cleaning it. The lady at the office not only answered my wife’s call of my phone but noticed that my phone was almost dead and put it on a charger. A great place….
We just spent a long weekend at the marina and they made everything so easy for us. We have stayed at this marina numerous times and have always enjoyed ourselves. The only big issue we have is that they do not have WiFi. I'm really hoping they work on this soon so we can use our televisions on board.
Don, the harbormaster, is an outstanding leader within a great organization. All the other employees I encountered were also friendly, helpful and happy wich was refreshing. In our particular and unexpected situation Don was able to react quickly and safely resolving our issues. I would highly recommend this marina for a layover or long term.
The dockmaster Don was excellent and placed us on a great spot on the transient dock. The bathrooms and showers were clean and cleaned daily. The only downside was that the refrigerator in the Captain Lounge was filthy. We have our own on the boat but not everyone does.
Thank you, great time. See you again soon.
Frank, the dock master was so friendly and helpful. We had a great time in St. Petersburg. Nice marina convenient to everything. Wonderful town. We will be back soon.
We enjoyed our stay as usual. Frank was great, helpful friendly etc. He is a great representative of the Marina.
We have stayed at St Pete Municipal Marina several times. Frank, the dock master does an incredible job. We get clear, timely communication about our arrival, he meets us at the assigned dock, helps us get tied up, always has the info packet and entry card ready. The facilities are clean and comfortable. Based on our experience at other marinas, Frank and his team go above and beyond.
Helpful staff that understands and accommodates boaters. Everyone was great and Joan and Frank helped us especially. Glad they're still there!
Well run marina. Frank is friendly and knowledgable. Will come again without hesitation. Julia B Cape Cod
As usual, great place to visit, easy docking, great location for down town St Pete, very busy and active area.
Dockage was excellent. Dockmaster Frank was especially helpful.
Great location, nice pricing and good facilities!!!
Marina was nice and calm and quiet. No wifi on the docks and the garbage had to be taken off premise across the street into a dumpster.
Very convenient location.
PERFECT: curtious, knowledged, clean
Friendly helpful Dockmaster and good facilities.
Frank was great. Helpful. Don too was very nice. Bud Orr Four Orrs
Clean and comfortable
Great help and information from Don on our arrival!!
Frank the dock master hit a home run.
Frank was great! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Whole process was seamless. Frank does an amazing job and is very helpful when arriving. Frank was Great as usual.
Wooden dock pillars are in serious need of some rubber strips on them to keep the wood from scratching the paint on my boat. But, the staff is very, very nice and accommodating. I would have given this marina a higher rating, but for a few things sorely lacking. There is no wifi at this marina despite what their website says. It's only available in their lounge. Also, no trash containers anywhere. You have to walk a couple hundred yards across parking lots to find a dumpster. If you have a dog, which a lot of boaters do, there is no where to deposit their water and very little places nearby to walk your dog. These few upgrades would make a huge difference at this Marina. Great location.. great staff !
Beautiful western views of downtown and the lights and sunset colors and eastern sunrise views. Frank is a great Dockmaster to work with. We will come back again and again.
The location is great, the service was great but the only issue is this is a fixed dock. I was hoping for floating but still our stay was excellent.
Clean Marina, the Harbormaster was great!
Great location. No Wifi! Docks are really old and worn down
The marina is old and tired with no dock Wi-Fi. The only reason for my 5 stars is the location and the Dockmaster Frank is great
The Harbor Master is fabulous. Great communications. He contacted me before we arrived to see our ETA and was waiting for us when we arrived. Fabulous location.
Frank was great two complaints no WIFI in marina and having to have to walk garbage out the gate and across the street
Perfect in every way!
Great location, easy long transient pier for side tie. Lots of live aboards all quite helpful and welcoming.
We forgot out electric cord and Frank was happy to loan us one!
Frank the dock master was very helpful.
Always a great time in St Pete at The Municipal Marina! Great location right in the city! Frank the dock master is the best!
Frank is the best. Always happy and already planning a return soon
Frank was a lot of help
Always great spot. Frank attends to the details very well 👍😊
Great weekend, Frank was awsome
+ great functional showers. hot water drains pitched correctly + walk off boat and you're in town + price - no wifi on boat - needs tlc
Docks in poor condition and disrepair. Dock house outdated and needs upgrades. Not consistent with the St. Pete image. Some items were unsafe. No trash bins on dock. Frank the Dockmaster was great and helpful.
Great location. Friendly and helpful staff
Great stay! Frank is the man!
Marina is well located. Walk to galleries, museums, waterfront parks. Free trolley steps away. Dock master and staff are helpful and met us to manage docking. Facilities aren’t luxurious but are adequate. We’ve certainly paid more for a lot less.
Great location, good facilities, reasonable price, Frank (dockmaster) was very helpful.
Good communication with the Marina and great dockmaster, Frank.
To short. We love at Pete.
This is a fantastic harbor. The staff is amazing especially the dock master Frank.
Frank is a true professional and a pleasure to do business with — excellent Dockmaster.
This is our favorite marina. Frank and Joan couldn't be more helpful. In fact, the whole staff is very accommodating. The location is great, it is a very walkable area. Thanks for another great stay. Ken & Rosemary
You cannot beat this location! Right in the centre of downtown St. Pete's. Most things are within walking distance and there's so much to see and do! Great restaurants and shopping. The marina is large and Frank helped us tie up when we arrived and was very helpful with any questions we had. The laundry facility etc is tired and the wifi is non existent but otherwise great!
Had a great experience at St Petersburg municipal marina. The marina is very well maintained. We were in the south basin overlooking the airport and next to Demens Landing Park. It was wonderful except for the occasional waves coming from Tampa Bay. The breakwater doesn't prevent much. There is also a 3 foot tide and with fixed docks, it can make getting off the boat problematic. Frank the dock master is very knowledgeable and was there to help us dock during very windy conditions. He gave us great instructions on tying up the boat. We didn't have to readjust our lines the entire time we were here! Joan and Mia and the rest of the staff were always helpful. The marina has a locking gates entrance and the bathrooms were clean and always stocked. There are 3 showers and 4 stalls. It is within walking distance to the downtown with lots of restaurants and museums like the Dali. Will definitely return!
Great location, Frank the dockmaster was very helpful and provided plenty of useful information.
Frank is super helpful. Our stay was perfect!
All good except no wi fi! Should receive a partial refund. And trash had to be taken to the park.
Spent 2 nights on the Transient dock during Christmas. The staff was friendly and helpful. The liveaboards at the North Dock were outgoing and very friendly as well. Look forward to returning in the future.
My rating would be less than 1 if that were as an option! The dock master was absolutely horrible. We hailed on ch 16 just outside the marina basin in the appropriate manner 4 times. No response. None. We came into the marina and began our docking maneuvers on the T dock as previously arranged. The dock master arrived at the dock and began a very loud and ugly rant that I was at the correct dock but at the wrong spot on it…needed to be at further towards the opposite end of the dock. He went on and on that I should have called his cell phone from the outer basin and not the Municipal VHF radio. Others on the dock we’re now observing his rant and he just got louder and louder. When I asked the question about the Marina’s VHF radio for the second or third time he said that they in fact have one but don’t use?? What? He explained that no one on his staff have either the time or knowledge to use it. So they don’t. Dockwa should apparently remove “VHF 16” from the info page for this ridiculous marina. After reminding me how difficult it is to find good people these days this crazy man paced up and down the dock while we completed our tie up with little to no help from him. I would only ever stay in this marina again if I had an emergency. No radio and no staff and by the way about 25% of the total boat population in this marina is either abandoned and/severely derelict. Some real sketchy issues there.
We spent 3 days at the St. Pete Municipal Marina. It was a Fantastic stop, easy walk into the city, so many things to do. Frank was fantastic, we learned a lot from him and he was super helpful. I wish the trash receptacle was closer, had to walk into the parking lot across the street and put trash in some dumpsters there, very inconvenient.
Very friendly and courteous. Great location next to the new city Pier.
Central location and great people make this a very nice experience. Just wish the docks were a bit more modern.
Excellent stay, really enjoyed the stay
Frank really makes the stay enjoyable…much appreciated!
Our 4th visit and not our last. Fantastic spot, great fellow boaters and vibe. Frank and Bob were great and made sure we had all our needs tended to. Be aware there is a significant tidal range but you are well protected from wake. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance and a Publix and liquor store a bike ride away.
Frank was amazing and helped us out tremendously. Great location and staff. Bathrooms and showers were not as clean as I was expecting. No wifi.
Easy in and out. Same for their fuel docks. Helpful with dock lines upon arrival. Central to everything fun in downtown St Petersburg.
Clean, friendly and awesome location!
Beautiful! Great location with million dollar views. Staff is so helpful. We definitely will be back.
Great location. Frank the Dockmaster was awesome.
We had a flawless stay at the marina. Maps were clear on exactly where to go. We will definitely be back.
Kathy and the fuel guy were great.
Frank the dock master is awesome. Communication is spot on! Great location and secure. Bathrooms clean👌. Docks are tired but I realize new ones are in the works. It will always be my first choice when in St Pete
Gorgeous Marina with so much to do. Tons of nightlife, music everywhere! Don at the fuel dock was wonderful! I will be staying again!!!!
Great location, close all things happening in St. Pete. Frank and security staff were very helpful. We will be back.
Frank the dockmaster is awesome and really took good care of our group of three boats.
Everything was great and I hope to be back soon. Frank was very helpful from the first time I pulled up to the dock until I departed. Thank you all.
It’s always a pleasure to visit St Petersburg and stay at the municipal marina. Don’t change a thing!
Facilities were dated, and could be cleaner. Signs for ice but not available. Overpriced.
Great location for visiting the Pier, Vinoy Park and plenty of restaurants. The Marina was easy to get to and the facilities were sufficient.
Good - but they need to have Wi-Fi on the dock!
Fantastic location, easy dockage, clean facilities with great showers. Highly recommend
Very clean and easy access to town ! Staff was very accommodating and helpful ! We loved our over night! Thank you so much we will be back !
Great experience using St Petersburg Municipal Marina for my 3 day fishing trip in Tampa Bay. It was a pleasure checking in and out, the parking pass is only $5 per day, and everyone was very accommodating. I will keep my boat here again
Great stay in St Pete’s. Bob (Dockmaster) was awesome and a pleasure to work with. Will def be back!
The dockmaster Cathy was awesome in every way we will definitely be back based on our experience with her.
It was a fantastic place for the weekend.
As usual, first class. Dockmaster very helpful. Love you guys and gals.
Great location and nice people to deal with!
Friendly and efficient staff. Very clean amenities. Walking distance to everything St Pete! We love it here 💝
Clean and accessible
👍
The location can't be beat. Staff was efficient and pleasant. We'll be back!
Awesome stay!!!! Docks are located in downtown St Pete. Easy to get in and out of, safe and close to great food and bars. We will be back!
Always love spending a couple of days here. Enjoy the street side restaurants which feels a bit European. Dock Master, Kathy is attentive, always available if needed, and helpful. Price reasonable and facilities ok. A must if you are in the area
Kathy and Don were very attentive to our needs and helpful with information. Will definitely plan to return for another stay. Best regards, Edwin & Linda, She’s a Keeper II
Best ever marine trip and stay at city Marina. The bathroom facilities were great and walking distance to downtown St Pete restaurants , bars & Music was outstanding. Marina people like Kathy snd Anthony were terrific helping me in an unfamiliar marina with all of the boats and excitement from visitors throughout USA and other countries was very stimulating conversations. Congratulations to City Mayor to keep City Municipal Marina still managed by city officials . The fireworks were incredible and traffic around the pier was very manageable and people were polite to me and my guests. We had a terrific time . There was a potluck dinner in the marina dock house where we all brought food , Barbeque and drinks . Best marina ever!
Kathy was so great - she was always there to help and was so friendly. Bathrooms were clean.
Kathy was great! Got us right in, vert accommodating!
Kathy on the transient booking was great and worked with us to get everything needed. However the fuel dock closed early without expectation forcing us to depart with less than optimal fuel on board. With communication on this we could have fueled the day before.
Kathy dock master was amazing. Very helpful. Facilities was clean.
We love our stays at the marina. This stay started out fine with booking and communication from the marina. Once we arrived the dock master Cathy was argumentative and insisted we are not allowed to use our stairway to get off the boat. We have stayed at the marina over 8 times and every time we have used our gangway. We asked why and she stated they were never allowed you will need to climb off they boat like everyone else that uses the T-dock. We called and her supervisor must have contacted her and made her aware it was ok to use the stairs. It is a beautiful marina stay and we recommend St. Pete marina. It is unfortunate that 1 employee can ruin a company reputation. We will continue to dock here for events and hope that company policies are more transparent and applied to all guests.
I have an ocean row boat that had to be towed in to St. Pete Marina due to high winds in the bay. Dockmaster Frank was able to find me a spot to tie off on even though I didn’t have a reservation. All the Folks at the Marina were awesome and very helpful. Thanks Frank and the staff at St. Pete Marina!!
Great place, close proximity to downtown and great area. The James museum is fantastic
Nice peaceful dock. Beautiful views of the city. Cathy took great care of us from our fuel stop to tying up on the transient dock. All paperwork was ready and waiting on us.
Frank was great making greeting us at the dock and making sure we were tied off to the dock with fenders in place ad shore power hooked up.
Great service and location. Frank was very helpful and responsive. Thanks St Pete Marina!!
A short stay, but a great stay. Everyone working at the marina was very helpful, especially, Frank. An easy walk to the all the good eats and drinks in the city. Great chats with liveaboard boat neighbors. Thanks for a great stay.
Great location . Dock master Frank was also great.
Dock master Frank is the best and the location is fantastic. Close to great restaurants, museums, parks and the new pier.
Incredible..30 years of trawling around and found this gem.. Marina is in perfect location. Fuel dock with great access.. walk to everything you could need. Marina and amenities super clean and well maintained. Frank the dock master is that the best service we had at any marina. Frank will help you with everything. Before you know it he’s got you tied up and helping you with anything you need. See Frank tell him we sent you..
Frank. The dockmaster was super. We were checking in late, and he did everything he could to accommodate us, and to direct us where to go.
Frank dock master was great getting us set up at the dock
Beautiful and not to busy.
The internet doesn't work. Drummers and loud music played all the time. The bathrooms are not exactly inviting.
Great location and facilities. Thank you to Frank for his helpful communication and assistance.
Great place to stay ,Helpful friendly staff
Easy in Easy out Dock Master, Frank was most helpful and courteous
Great marina in great part of town. Lots to walk and the trolleys are fun. Frank on the dock is wonderful and so helpful.
Great place and very convenient to downtown St Pete. Frank is the best... he is there and on top of everything to help make your stay perfect. I will be back for sure!!!
One the transient dock. Frank was helpful and friendly. Would recommend!
Great location. Easy access. Frank was great.
All was well I'm just giving them a
The slip was easy access, and the bathrooms were both very clean. The communication was great and Frank was extremely helpful.
Great stop over! Right down town on the pier! Staff was amazing, prices were totally reasonable. Nothing was less than perfect!
Great place to spend the night right in the heart of St. Pete. Staff was amazing waiting by the transient dock to help with lines. Showers were great property was clean. Will definitely be back. \nHere and Now II
Excellent service. Frank was wonderful helping us tie up and gave us some local information about the area.
Great location by downtown and pier. Frank at the dock was excellent. Bathrooms a bit dated but clean and functional. Definitely coming back
Beautiful active waterfront district. Props to Frank who is so helpful.
Beautiful marina in a great location. We really appreciated Harbormaster Frank's hospitality and help in getting us in an out. Thank you, Frank!
Frank is a great dock hand who got everyone tied up during a busy weekend for the Tall Ships. Location is really great, walking distance to everything
Frank was a great Dockmaster. Nice quiet stay.
Great location right downtown. Everything was within walking distance. Frank at the dock was fantastic. Could not do enough to make sure our stay was fantastic.
What a great place to stay! Frank, the dock master was incredible helpful. Called us the morning of the stay to relay information about where to dock. Was waiting upon our arrival to help with the lines and get us situated. Plan to definitely stay there again as it is so convenient to everything going on in St Pete.
As previously stated by a number of visitors, facilities are a bit dated. However, the cleanliness, staff and location far outshines any lack of modernization. Frank, the Dockmaster in particular is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Stayed 3 nights and loved the vibe of the whole area. We will be back!!
We cannot say enough good things about Frank, the dockmaster. He was awesome. Laundry & bathrooms were older, but functional and cleaned every day. Secured entry & nighttime security. Access to downtown restaurants, shopping & the Pier could not be easier. St. Pete is very walkable & has dedicated bike lanes. Publix, CVS & a liquor store are a 10 minute walk from the marina. Great stop for the money!
All the staff, specially Frank, were patient, polite and very attentive. Our first overnight docking on our little boat was amazing. The views and easy walk to a varieties of entertainment options made it worth while. Very clean and safe enviorement. Will be back.
The Dock Master, Frank, is a great guy and super helpful! Marinas these days aren't all that personable, but Frank is a one man show and makes this one fantastic.
No problems Frank was very helpful .
We also highly recommend the marina. The location is FANTASTIC! We LOOOOVED St Petersburg for its festive atmosphere, restaurants, parks, museums, galleries, Publix, movie theatre, etc. A lot to do at walking distance. I give the marina a 4-star because of the poor (aka barely exisiting) wifi connection, good and clean amenities but in need of an upgrade. As for the Dock Master Frank, I would give a 5 star for his professionalism, availability and great help! We would love to go back.
We highly recommend this Marina!!! So close to everything from Museums to Restaurants and Supermarkets! Amenities are great but best of all is Frank… Dock Master Exstrodinary!! Even picked up my medicine and delivered it to our boat!
We enjoyed near perfect weather on our first visit to St Pete Marina. Frank met us at the dock and helped us get tied off. Frank knows the tides and his knowledge comes in to play when tying off your boat. We will be back soon for sure.
Frank was awesome Beautiful area
Frank was awesome. Great help to us while docking the boat!
Frank the Dockmaster was great! Wonderful facilities and close by everything. Definitely will be back!!
Frank and the staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. Great location. Helped us through some challenging times.
Great place to stay and Frank was tremendous help all the way around. Marina was clean.
Super great Marina! The staff is so helpful and friendly. The bathrooms are top notch. We were on a mooring ball and it is so convenient to dingy to the little walking island with the dog for their business. Dingy Dock for going ashore is a little distance from mooring field, but you get a great view of all the fancy yachts on your way in. There is a great restaurant on site that has happy hour every day 4-6 with great views.
Nice marina! Great location
Nice bathrooms and ez access to down town. Frank was great help!
The pier construction has been completed for more than a year and the mooring field is still not available. They keep saying the mooring field is under repair but I've not seen any action there. The transient dock is expensive for the age and condition of the facilities. Dock fixtures and showers are good as well as the assistance docking. The WiFi access requires you go to the sitting room at the pier-head to get reliable connection and laundry facility was being replaced when we visited. There are no trash or recycling receptacles on the pier so you need to carry your trash... across the street to the public parking. There are a number of top notch grocery stores, restaurants, museums and sports venues in walking distance. The parks and attractions on the St Pete pier will entertain the kiddies and lots of fishing available. It is a great spot but the transient services need to step up a notch to justify the price.
Nice area , lots to do. Frank the dock master was very helpful.
Facility and Staff are all excellent . The downtown area offers so much of everything
Great staff and well run marina.
Friendly, professional staff. Nice docks, clean facilities, great location near all the fun. We’ll be back!
Frank took great care of us. Fantastic weekend, great location.
Great Marina. Great Location. Very well organised.
Frank was super nice upon arrival, the marina was close to everything and we will definitely be back.
Lots of fun things to do. Love downtown St Pete.
Great location and Frank was amazing - as always. Thank you for everything!
Clean well run. In a convenient location. The Dockmaster, Frank, was especially helpful. Highly recommended.
Clean facilities, but the best part was Frank the Dockmaster. He kept me informed and was a true gentleman.
Marina was great and you can’t beat the location
Always a great stay great location, love coming here. Kenny and Frank are always awesome
Kenny the dock master was very friendly, convenient, & made everything very easy!
We had an excellent stay. The staff was very professional and helpful during our entire stay. We plan to return soon.
Loved the covered slip. Staff was very helpful being my first time at the Marina.
Frank was a super nice guy and I wish I could have spent more time with him. Southeast winds came in and it rolled a lil bit overnight, but nothing to complain about.
Frank was amazing You have to get internet to the docks. This is 2022
My stay was great. Frank was our Dock Master and was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He even took the time to teach us some knots and tying up. Will definitely come back for a longer stay.
Nice facility but getting a bit dated and in need of upgrades. Also a bit pricey. Frank was pleasant to me and helpful in docking, but was a bit gruff with my better half. Disappointed that internet service is not available dockside, rather you have to go into the lounge to use it. Also a couple started sanding the exterior of their boat within less than 25 feet from ours. Definitely a no-no in most marinas, but Frank said it was okay there so long as they stopped by 11:00 PM due to noise ordinance. He offered to move us, but once you get set up you really don't want to go through it again.
We love the facility, the location and the people. It is getting a bit pricey
Great staff and proximity to activities. Would be a 5 star if facilities including showers, lounge and bathrooms received an upgrade
A great location in the heart of a wonderful city. Friendly staff, good accommodations. Highly recommend. We will be back.
St. Petersburg is a wonderful city to visit and to be greeted by Frank at the Municipal Marina is a great way to begin your St. Petersburg adventure. As we made our way into Tampa Bay he checked with us by phone to get our ETA and give us our slip assignment. Our paperwork and gate keys were waiting for us upon our arrival and every accommodation has been made for us during our stay. Frank and the St. Petersburg Municipal Marina are a gem.
Always wonderful. The Wi-Fi needs to be much stronger. Dockwa was very easy to navigate.
I stayed on a mooring ball and I love it there. The main marina staff could use some help but Tony, Doug and Robert are the best.
Nice but docks need some work
Being the Captain of a large motor yacht you come to appreciate professionalism and knowledge when it comes to the dockmaster. I have to give major kudos to Frank who contacted me well ahead of time and was talking to me about shore power locations, whether or not we wanted to give him the loop or the bitter end of the mooring line, you name it, it covered it before we ever arrived. So it make bringing a 102’ into the marina a breeze, and the docking was seamless. Can’t say enough about the experience. We’l be back for sure. Thank you Frank. You are a great ambassador for the city.
Stayed at the north dock. Frank the dock master is top notch. Doesn’t get any better and he went out of his way more than once when I had to change plans because of weather. The bad: SHORT fixed docks. Need lengthened floating docks. 4x6 posts at the end of finger piers either damaged or missing. Mine was loose and someone almost fell. Pelican hook for dockline on outer piling missing. My dockline slid down into barnacles. Wi-Fi only in boaters lounge. When people are watching tv or yelling into their cell phones, it makes it difficult to work. C’mon St. Pete. You spend millions on a pier but too cheap to extend wifi throughout the marina. More good: good shower, good security, nice lighted outdoor meeting tent next to lounge but Wi-Fi won’t even reach out there.
We had a great weekend stay at the City docks in St. Pete in order to be close to McDill AFB for the Tampa Airfest. The Dockmaster, Frank, was so helpful even before we arrived. He gave explicit instructions and made sure we were comfortable upon approach. Throughout the weekend, he checked and monitored the docks giving a real sense of security. This marina is full of live aboard residents. The facilities are dated and everything could use a little make-over. The transient slip are on a fixed T head. It was easy to get in and out and the parade of recreational and commercial boats was very entertaining. You can't beat the location, central to downtown and all of the nightlife. The city pier and all of the associated parks are incredible and should not be missed. We will be back for a longer stay next year.
The transient dock is one long sea wall so the harbor master was very concerned with the extra length created by a dinghy on Davits. We were told this by Frank as we docked. In this case we can see how it is important to know capacity at the dock. Other than this the facilities were good, but the bathroom fans needed cleaning. The Marina is in a great location for access to the city.
Docks and very short finger piers are in poor condition and outdated. Fuel dock is good, but none of the staff seemed happy with their position or especially competent. Too bad because the location is wonderful and St Pete is delightful.
Busy marina, but well run. Great customer service. The marina manager was very helpful and friendly. The facilities are clean and they have great showers.
Docks are old concrete docks but all well fitted with wood fender boards. Frank, the Dock Master, is a gem. He went the extra mile before our arrival by sending us a confirmation message and his personal contact information. He is very experienced and knows how to help boaters, no matter what our skill sets are. I didn't think the service could get any better. The weather was turning bad near the end our stay and, we needed gasoline in order to make it to our home port with no stops. I contacted the fuel dock a half hour before opening time. The staff was already on site and ready to take us a few minutes early. Everyone was very pleasant. The Frank and the staff here are 5+ star excellent. Thanks to all for making our stay trouble free and enjoyable.
The dock we were at was in pretty bad shape. WL1. The city had lots going on
Staff was beyond helpful. Great location. Great facility. They go over and above every time.
Frank was very helpful with docking and we love the new key card instead of the regular key to get into the marina. Everything is always clean and so easy to get to what St. Pete has to offer.
Frank, the DockMaster, was great! He helped with our lines on arrival & departure & was helpful throughout our stay!!!
Love St Pete’s. They had a spot for me on the transient dock. I was able to get some serious work done and avoid the weather. Restaurants downtown are great. They even had a dump for my used oil.
Convenient booking and prompt email confirmation. Great service at the dock. Will stay with them again!
Another terrific stay at St Pete Muni Marina during the Grand Prix. Frank is the MVP of the place, hands down. Terrific service and really makes all the difference. Thank you again and looking forward to the next visit! Amazing night’s stay. Great, central area. Very nice people at the marina. But the #1 reason we’ll be transient here again, is Frank. Super accommodating. Friendly. Took time to explain and help with just about anything we could have needed to come in and have an enjoyable time. We’ll be back soon!
Great spot nice people
Great location. Protected harbor. Good help on dock. Very secure. Bathrooms a bit small and dated, but clean and totally serviceable. Happy to stay here any time.
This is a wonderful marina. Transient dock is in good condition & a short walk to the restrooms/showers. Laundry reasonably priced. Location is incredible - close to center of town, new pier, restaurants, music, museums, brew pubs… Entrance easy to navigate. Only (constructive) criticism - wish they had wifi at the marina.
We enjoyed our stay. Great location, with alot walking distance and good food. We will definately recommend to fellow boaters.
The marina itself could use some upgrades like wifi, but the location is awesome and the service great! Super friendly staff and great to deal with!
Frank was super helpful - above and beyond. Location is great! And the locals are super helpful and friendly! But the marina is showing its tatered edges. For example, our assigned slip that had no wooden board to hold us off the concrete finger dock - made for scary docking manuevers coming in! You could see the bolt holes where it used to be. But we'll be back! :)
Great location and helpful accomodating staff. We enjoyed our stay.
It was nice on the T dock. Lots of boats coming and going.
Frank the dock master was wonderful. Nice showers and laundry. Shopping, liquor store and grocery all within short walking distant. Plenty of places to eat.
St Petersburg is a great City to visit with lots of things to do and within walking distance of the marina. The new Pier is awesome.
Very friendly dock hands and beautiful view. Easy access to town and lots of restaurants. Showers weren't the greatest but the overall experience was great. Wouldn't hesitate for a second to stay here again.
Great stay. My only wish is that ice would be closer than a 40 minute round trip walk from the transient dock to the office on the other side of the basin.
Staff members Frank and Seth are treasures. The bathrooms and showers are not.
Frank is always so helpful.
Fantastic location for all the city has to offer. Huge Sat. Farmers market is a 5 minute walk away , the St.Pete pier is wonderful especially in the early morning or for a sunset drink at Teak. Many, many restaurants to choose from - really enjoyed Ceviche. Laundry and bathroom facilities are good at the Marina and very good security for the docks with a key card entry. Publix is a 10 minute walk away. Hard to leave!!
Dockmaster Frank works very hard to be helpful to incoming cruisers and is fair in how he manages boats. The location of the marina is excellent, but it is a diamond in the rough. Sadly our beloved City of St. Pete must not consider the investment in improving the docks and services a priority. No Wifi. 208 power.
The stay was great. Frank made the stay exceptional.
Bath/showers are well kept. Good security. Staff very helpful. Close (walking distance) to downtown St. Pete. The docks are adequate, fixed, with limited cleats. Marginal WiFi but Verizon was strong. A bargain given the great location.
The location is one of the best in any large city and St Pete is a great place. Few can compete. The marina is fine. It’s well protected and the slips are huge. It’s a city marina. It’s fine. I won’t stay anywhere else. Clarke
Great location, got lots of help to dock, enjoyed our stay very much...
Very nice place. The dock master, Frank, was exceptional. Great communication before and during our stay. Above and beyond in helping us to our slip, get tied-up and settled in. Best service we have had at a marina. Highly recommend.
Enjoyed. Perfect location
Great stay as always. Frank and the team are very accommodating and we love the location. Can't wait for our next trip back.
Place is a dump, felt like I was inn a floating trailer park. The dock guy Frank was less than useless. He is a crotchety old goat who's never owned a boat in his life, but swears he knows better than you.. Turned a perfectly executed docking into a complete cluster. No garbage cans on the dock, you have to walk literally 2 blocks to throw away trash. Outside marina was no better, food and soiled diapers on sidewalk, homeless people every where.. Like I said, the place is a dump. I will never come back. I can not emphasize how badly run this marina is..
Great location, excellent staff. Dockmaster Frank provided personal attention to assure we would have a slip after we had to postpone due to a mechanical issue. He even drove me back to a local boatyard with a part I needed. Now that’s customer service! High marks all around!
Frank the Dockmaster was very helpful. The marina had a well kept up bathroom and shower. Only thing that was a minor convenience was that there were no trash cans on the docks or in the building.
The location of the marina provides easy access to restaurants, shops, groceries, museums, farmer's market, bike paths, public art, parks, etc. The city has done an amazing job of making people and dog-friendly spaces that offer so much enjoyment. And best of all, is Frank D the marina manager who makes it all possible with his friendly and helpful attitude. He is definitely customer-oriented and always polite.
The marina is very convenient to the pier and walkable to downtown activities. Dock master, Frank was informative news very helpful. Tony at the fuel dock was also awesome! Because the marina is so convenient to everything going on, it was loud and full of light well into the night.
Perfect location with easy access to downtown St Pete, St Pete Pier and bike path to St Pete Beach.
Inadequate trailer parking and maneuverability caused a fender bender at boat ramp while there. Also, gave up on getting pumped out, no one available. Good location?
Perfect location, easy water approach to the docks.
Absolutely wonderful location. Very friendly staff.
The people at the marina especially Frank are absolutely fantastic and helpful. But we were here probably six or seven years ago and they were going to be revitalizing the marina with floating docks etc. Nothing has been done to this Marina in years. The people are great location is great but the city really needs to put some money into this marina
Excellent location, great staff, Frank was on top of things and wanted to make our stay as easy as possible.
Frank was extremely helpful and competent both while tying us up at the dock and when we departed. He answered all our questions about the Marina and the city of St. Petersburg. We had a delightful stay at the Municipal Marina.
Great location. Easy access. We'll organized check-in.
Love the marina and love the area. Marina is easy to get around in, the fuel dock is in an area with plenty of room to move around. Facilities are well kept and there’s even an Amazon locker available. Groceries are within a half mile with general and marine stores within a 15 minute drive. Restaurants within an easy walk, pick your mood. Decent protection from west and north winds, and the breaker wall helps with eastern and southern winds. A small airfield is on the south but limited to small craft. Do be aware of the surround area’s concerts and attractions, as getting in and out of the area can take a long long time and pedestrians everywhere. They do have marina resident parking lots, too.
Great marina and staff. Scott is amazing!
Great Location Helpful dock staff Mediocre Facilities - bathrooms, showers need upgrade
Excellent staff! Perfect slip location next to bathrooms and showers. Will definitely stay again!
I want to talk about how great this marina is, but the real secret is Frank. He's simply the best dockmaster I've met, and I've been sailing my whole life. Sailing in from Texas, we had an issue with our motor - that means NO admittance in St.Pete marinas. Frank went out of his way to help us: 1 find a place to legally stay overnight, 2 personally helped me find a single bolt causing the issue, 3 kept our reservation active so I could come in once the issue was fixed. He also - on his own and not related to his job- insisted we take his old 30 amp powercords when he learned we were long distance cruising with just 1 50ft cord and one small 12ft extension. This is a very good marina made great by its dockmaster. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful stay in St. Petersburg made even better by their kind and super helpful dockmaster, Frank. He helped with our lines, gave us advice on continuing our journey, and was just very supportive. You can tell he cares a lot about the marina and its guests. St. Petersburg's marina is a great place to stay, right by all the excitement, but peaceful and a walk or short Uber to the grocery store and a lot of fun stuff.
Marina is in an ideal location for easy access to most of what St Pete has to offer. The city is also very bike friendly with numerous off road bike trails.
Great dock master. Wish they had floating docks
great location and super helpful staff.
I would like to give Major Cudo's to Frank the Dockmaster, he was Awesome! I received a welcome call earlier in the day welcoming me and my crew to the Marina and what slip number I would be in. I checked in when I was getting close and he met us at the slip. We had a strong cross wind in the marina and he was very helpful getting us tied up and settled in for the evening. The next morning Frank helped us with Ice for our journey home. It was a great experience and Frank was a BIG part of it! Thank you Frank and Dockwa!!! Scott Grybek
This is by far the best marina I’ve been period.! This guys definitely raised the bar on costumer service , cleanliness and Edficiency! Location is prime plenty of restaurant and good places to go to, live music on weekends overall 5 stars.!
The marina, staff and location are all first class and special shout out to Frank who met us when we arrived at the dock -- and shepherded us through a lovely experience. As an "older" cruiser I was amazed at the city's quality of life, exuberance and culture now available within a short walk from the marina in St. Pete. Kudo's to staff and the St. Pete Municipal leadership for making an outstanding development effort.
Perfect location Professional and friendly people to help with your names
Nice clean facility, easy access. Dock master was there to meet us when we pulled in. Great location, walk to restaurants, grocery, drugstore, museums, etc.
Great Location and AMAZING Dock master. Frank was ready to help dock the boat and was very helpful.
Great location and everything worked.
The staff went out of their way to accommodate us. What a location!
Great marina and a block away from all of the restaurants. Looking forward to our next visit!
The facilities were clean and neat. The dockmaster kept me informed of my slip status, and was there to help me tie up as I arrived.
Frank, our dock assistance professional, was not only welcoming and knowledgeable of the area, was of great assistance in the docking process. Great customer service.
We were very impressed with the extraordinary service and help we received from Frank, the harbormaster. He went out his way to be there at the dock, helping with the lines and answering our questions in a very pleasant and humorous way. He made our visit fun! Thank you Frank.
Great location! And wonderful staff!
Frank is by far the best staff member we have ever encountered. He went out of his way to accommodate us and worked on a complicated reservation until he solved the issue. He is the best. If I was still running my business I would hire him on the spot!!
We had a great time...Frank and his team were very friendly and helpful during our entire 3 month stay. We'll be back
Frank and everyone I had contact with was incrediably helpful. It was a wonderful experience.
It was fun and the marina was very professional and personal
Great spot. Staff not knowledgeable about dockwa app. Very frustrating
Excellent stay overnight. The facilities are awesome, price is great, and it's nearby downtown St Pete with all it has to offer. The only drawback for us was that we were apparently too far from the wifi access point to get access. Recommend either installing a repeater, or at least let guests know of the limitation.
Great weekend, with lots of options you can walk to.
Wonderful couple nights of “boat camping” in the heart of downtown St Pete. Friendly service and very helpful.
Wonderful. We will return for a longer stay.
Dockage was fine, however we were not docked with the rest of our group as requested.
This is one of the best run marinas we have stayed.
Frank, the dockmaster, was great helping us docking to local info. The dock has great security by only one access to each pier with a key card. Great access to downtown. This was our first time at St. Pete by the water and will be back.
We had a great stay at St. Petersburg Municipal Marina. Our dockmaster was very helpful and everything we needed was easily accessible. We spent 2 wonderful days in beautiful downtown St. Pete and we can't wait to go back.
First time exploring St. Pete by the water. Frank, the dockmaster, was fabulous. So helpful from getting us docked to information we needed for the weekend. Fresco's restaurant is right next to the marina. Great food and service. Will definitely go back and stay at the municipal marina.
Great spot. Easy access to town. Friendly staff. No wifi tho
Loved it! Great location. Marina staff (Frank) was very helpful. So many restaurants, attractions, etc. in walking distance. We look forward to coming back soon!
Frank was very communicative, keeping us posted along our stay and helpful in docking. We hope the new leaseholders will have the same high level of customer service that the city has brought this marina to be a favorite stop in FL.
Excellent and friendly. Highly recommend!
Wonderful. Docks in great shape. Easy docking at transient dock. Frank the dock master was ver helpful and knowledgeable.
Easy access , clean facilities will be back gain Thanks
We were met at the transient dock by a very helpful Dockmaster Frank. He assisted us tying up and connecting to adequate power and water. Easy walk to restaurants and transportation We had our own e-bike. Although Visitor wireless was poor we were able to get emails.
Staff were very helpful and attentive - the facility is excellent!!
With the 65 foot boat overall they put us at 20 ft. dock, the rest are pylons. Good electric.. We were on the South part of the Marina and wished we on the North Section. Very noisy planes close by. Super close to downtown.
Great location! Great service!
Great Dockmaster and awesome location.
We bought an older boat that needed some work before we left the dock. As expected, it took longer than expected. Joan (dockmaster) was really helpful and flexible. During Covid slips were not transferable and I believe it was also restrictions on new liveaboards. She allowed us to extend 3 times and as of 2 short days ago we finally had our maiden sail. The marina is in a great location and, although we were technically transient, she let us stay in our current slip on the N docks which is feet away from the new beautiful pier and just a few slips away from the boaters lounge and showers. The wind can rip through pretty good on gusty days and a little bit of rocking but not bad even with 20+ knot winds. The tenants and especially liveaboards were all very friendly and welcomed us to our new lifestyle of becoming long distance cruisers and offered us great advice that we will take with us along our trek. With Covid there are ZERO long term slips or even moorings available in St Pete and even finding a week long transient slips was very very difficult. Be warned that the north side of the marina only has metered parking for the new pier from 9am-10pm at $10 per 4 hours and a 4 hour limit so we had to do a dance with moving the car around and it cost us an extra $20 a day to park. The usual transient dock is on the opposite side of the marina and comes with permitted parking for $5 a day but it’s a good 10+ min walk to the pier side and kinda secluded on a small island. So if you like quiet and cheaper parking that side is perfect for you but we did have transients nearby on our side too. Overall a great location in the heart of downtown and the popular new pier and nice marina with basic amenities. Oh, and they have fixed short finger docks with pilings which was not our favorite especially with inexperienced sailors new to docking but we got in and out unscathed, mostly...
Very friendly and helpful. I will definitely go there again.
Great location and really attentive staff. A little more information on all of the amenities should be provided prior to arrival. Other than that a great stay!
Never could get a hold of anyone to give us a key to get in. All phone numbers provided were of no use. Finally saw security at 11 pm and got a key. Was not impressed.
First time boating to St Pete Marina and staying at the transient dock. The good: St Pete is a great town to visit Dock hands very helpful and accommodating Facilities very nice The not so good: The transient dock is fixed (not floating) and one side tie up. This means you need to leave enough slack for tides. This means you will be swaying and banging the dock all night. This means little sleep depending on your ability to sleep through that distraction. Our boat is 28ft but the neighbors was a new 40ft and had the same issue. Conditions were fairly calm when we were there. Will go back but try a different tie up method.
Great location, friendly and helpful staff. 24 hour assistance docking which was great as we came in after hours. Had an issue with one a/c shutting down. I have one newer a/c that will shut down if the voltage is low for 3 minutes. Was able to work around it and everything seemed back to normal the next morning.
as always the St Pete municipal marina staff were awesome. Could not ask for better
Very accommodating! Thankyou and we loved being right in the heart of st. Pete! Fun, fun!
Nice docks, friendly staff! Great location to explore the city & water!
The staff was extremely helpful. The Marina was in a perfect location and well kept. I would definitely use this location for all my excursions to Downtown St. Pete.
OUR VESSEL WAS PUT IN THE WRONG SPOT THE FIRST NIGHT. WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE IN A COVERED DECK.
We stay at the City of St. Petersburg marina frequently. It truly is the best marina on the west coast of Florida, not only because of the location, but because the staff there is efficient and friendly. They all 'go above and beyond' to ensure boaters have a great experience. We highly recommend the marina.
Frank was extremely helpful and friendly.
Transient dock is easy to find, tie up to and depart from. Facilities were good and the staff is excellent.
St Pete is a wonderful water town. Always something to do. St Pete Municipal is perfectly located and more importantly protected for a comfortable stay. If you're on a mooring ball make sure any easterly wind will be less than 8knots or you're in for a rolly night.
Very nice marina. Staff are helpful and friendly. Easy in and out. Location can't be better. Attractions, restaurants, "Old" St.Pete and the newer hipsterish St. Pete. The vibe is very youthful now unlike the "Cocoon" reputation. The only complaint I might have is the feeling that you are encroaching on the liveaboards. They have sort of taken over the lounge and common areas. Dogs and kids paraphernalia. But that won't keep me from coming back often.
Very nice marina. Given we are still dealing with virus rules it was very nice. Would recommend to anyone. Would stay there again. Will be back next season.
I probably would give the marina 5 stars if we had stayed after the new St. Petersburg pier was open. Frank was very helpful in confirming then changing our reservation at our request; he even gave us his mobile # so we could contact him directly. The marina location is perfect - just off the main St. Petersburg waterfront. There are many bike paths and walking trails just off the marina. But the street just off the docks was closed off because of construction on the pier and, as noted, there were no dumpsters on the site because of the construction. Thus, it was a long walk to throw away trash and to get to a space for my dog to relieve himself. In addition, as also noted, the fixed long transient dock coupled with the tide swings can make getting on/off the boat pretty difficult at times. We would love to come visit again after the pier is open and, hopefully, the walk to discard garbage and take pets to grass will be much shorter.
My wife and I waited 4 months on the 'waiting list' to be able to rent a slip for our CT-56 ketch rigged sailboat. When one became available last Friday, 5/1/2020, Evelyn and I drove to the marina to accomplish the contractual paperwork for the slip which we were happy to have available to us. Sunday was when we could move our vessel from Seafood Shack Marina in Cortez, to your facility. The staff was about to process our lease, but we had not known that our documentation was necessary, (our fault - stupid error), so the staff advised us to bring her into the slip and process the paperwork on Sunday. So, we arrived and docked into slip SA110, Sunday afternoon and after having secured the vessel, went to the Marina Office with all of our documentation, expecting to conclude this process. We were told that our vessel had to be at the 'fuel dock' to be 'inspected'. Our vessel is a 65 foot ketch rigged, Ta Chiao CT-56, i.e., a heavy displacement, (70,000 pound), sailboat. She is not as easily maneuvered as a runabout / motorboat; so to take her out of the slip we had secured her into, to bring to the fuel dock, to be inspected, only to then return her to her slip, is an inefficient, even dangerous concept. I'm confident anyone with marine experience, would agree that it is in marinas that there is the highest probability of collisions and damages between vessels. I would much rather avoid that, as I am confident everyone would agree. Therefore, we were very reluctant to comply with this 'new rule'. I say 'new' because we had not been informed of this in our meeting with the staff on Friday. Had we been informed, we would have arrived at the fuel dock on Sunday rather than going straight to the slip, as we HAD been informed to do. Nevertheless, since Letitia, the manager, was not on the property, my request that the inspection take place at the slip, where the vessel is, could not be decided. So, we returned to our vessel, waiting for Letitia to arrive on Monday morning, to make the logical, professional decision to inspect her where she is. I spoke with Letitia Monday morning and she said she would have to speak with her manager about this. The overarching reality, besides the anxiety and illogical requirement to move the Triumph at this point, is that both my wife and I are providing our computer consulting services to our respective clients, therefore we are working normal business hours and can't spend a morning or afternoon playing this ludicrous: 'move the boat over here, then return her to her slip' game. So, it is our fervent hope that the marina management can see the logic and safety to have the inspection occur where the boat is, rather than at the fuel dock. I am posting this so that potential future slip renters might be made aware of this 'rule', since - as we have experienced - this rule is not always shared with this marinas' customers until it is ludicrous to try to apply.
Great location and view w expansive park. Easy access to transient dock. Short staff not readily available possible due to COVID 19. No trash receptacles on site due to city pier construction so have to walk a block to dumpster. Facility small but downtown location is ideal.
We'd gone sailing for a few days, our version of "social distancing." We'd planned to stay overnight at Gulfport Marina when we discovered that our reservation had been cancelled. By email. Three hours earlier. It's 5PM on Sunday. I was frantically calling other marinas looking for a slip, mooring ball, or even a spot to drop the hook. I got on dockwa.com and was able to make a reservation at St.Petersburg Marina, but received a message that they would respond in 24 hours. I called the marina, hoping to reach a live person. Tony answered and said he was just closing the marina for the day. I explained our dilemma, and he said he would need to call me back. A few minutes later he returned the call, said he did have open transient space, but there would be no one at the marina to assist us. "No problem!," I said. He explained where to go, and life got better. Then, a few minutes later, he called to give me the number of the security office, in case I needed anything. I was impressed. The transient dock was wide open, so docking was easy. We just made ourselves at home, cooked on board, had a pleasant evening. Downtown St. Petersburg is normally bustling, shops, bars, restaurants, parks, all on the waterfront. But the Governor had ordained that no sit-down dining would be permitted, so things were pretty quiet. Next morning I called the office to check in, and was told the dockmaster was on his way over to check in with us. We received a friendly visit, and a hand delivered receipt. We were very pleased with our experience. The marina has a fuel dock with pumpout services. Highly recommended.
We spent two days at the Marina during the COVID-19 Pandemic, obviously not the best of times. The staff remained very helpful and checked in on us. The facilities were kept clean and functioning despite the construction going on the adjacent pier. We will definitely return to further enjoy the Marina and it's location.
Everything went smooth as silk, staff was right there to assist with tie up and give us keys etc to the marina and info on the city. Have stayed there before and always enjoyed the stay, great location for access to the city.
The fixed docks, combined with large tide variance, make it VERY hard to get oneself or items on/off the boat. We rented a car, but parking is a joke. Even with a marina parking permit and a handicap tag, we got 2 tickets and a tow. The construction in the area causes a really long walk to the docks. The Fresco restaurant and the park nearby were the only bright spots in our stay.
Frank was courteous, knowledgeable, helpful. Older woman in office didn’t seem to like her job or dealing with customers.
Great Experience. Easy walking distance to restaurants, museums and entertainment venues. Frank was especially helpful providing advice and assistance to smoothly exit our slip on a very windy day!
Can’t believe you are charging full rate to stay on the Transient Dock during the construction. Had to carry our elderly dog all the way down to Bayshore 4x to relieve herself and park our vehicle a mile away. I think you could have constructed a pet relief area during this lengthy construction. I really think paying $99 for this inconvenience was ridiculous.
Everyone was very friendly and downtown St. Petersburg is great.
Easy access - even after hours. Security guard greeted me with keys and assisted with docking. Location is excellent with access to downtown. Facilities are clean, but showing some signs of age.
Staff was great grabbing the lines and tying us up, then explaining what’s where. Docks we were on, south basin, concrete fixed in good shape. Did not use restroom or shower. Very convenient to St Pete downtown. Adjacent to municipal airport - fun watching planes in and out. Minimal airport activity after dark. No less that 7’ total water at entrance at low tide, plenty at docks
I guess location is everything. The dock is not in great shape. It was fine, but expensive, for an overnight to check out downtown St. Petersburg.
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I'll be back. Thank you.
Different dockage for us at WL1 and it was GREAT! Easy and convenient for walking to downtown and as always, nice facilities and people.
Great experience, it was our third time staying!
The staff was so accommodating. Really enjoyed the fireworks.
We had a great stay at the St. Petersburg Municipal Marina. It was easy making reservations, the office staff was very helpful, Robert, the dock hand, was great at helping us in. The location in downtown St. Petersburg was wonderful. Restaurants, museums, grocery stores, everything was in walking distance. They were dog friendly, and although it was a long way to walk from our slip to the outside of the marina to grass, there are many nice small parks to walk in nearby. Great stop!
The marina staff are always friendly and helpful and great great to deal with. Love going to St Pete marina and they always help make ever better
Great downtown location but no parking for North Docks if needed and due to Pier construction, long walk to-from boat. Otherwise, one of the better Marin’s
Stayed as a transient for 3 days waiting for a marine service nearby to open. The rather primitive doc slips with fore and aft pylons as the main way to secure the boat and a low dock that did not reach to midship were nothing special, but the treatment by the staff that came out after hours to help me tie up was superb. Strong recommend on this basis.
Robert was such a great help to us, everything from booking our slip to docking and everything in between. Marina is clean and very well maintained. Everything downtown is within walking distance. The rates here a very reasonable as well. Would stay again in a heartbeat!!
The dock is well-maintained and the dockmaster, Frank was extremely helpful. Great location for all the downtown St. Petersburg has to offer.
We pulled in, decided to get some fuel before docking. Next thing I know, the store attendant decided to rant his judgmental opinions out the window from the second story of the marina fuel dock down to my boat - berating me because my wife had to go up the flight of stairs to check-in and I didn't, as I have a severe ankle sprain. Upon my wife going back to pay and explaining the situation to him, he proceeded to be sarcastically sympathetic by telling her "aww poor baby." She had to tell him to please stop yelling out the window. After that, Frank was very helpful in helping us to dock. Transient dock was fine. It was rocking all night due to a certain directional wind. No grass for dogs to go unless you walk about a half mile down to the street. I would stay there again, but skip the fuel dock as there is a high-and-mighty jackass tending the store.
Frank was super helpful. Only way could be better is floating docks for smaller boats.
Great neighborhood, clean bathrooms, nice dockside attendant. The construction around the pier is a nightmare, for how long, who knows - but at least the fences indicate which direction to walk to all of St. Pete's action.
Great location in beautiful St. Pete. Wonderful staff as well. But due to the construction we had to walk a 1/2 mile to grass for my dog and to the street. No shuttle was provided from the parking which was also far away and we could never find a dock cart without also walking the 1/2 mile to and from the street. Hopefully when all is completed theses issues will be resolved.
Not happy with how close they parked the boats on the bow and the stern on the transient dock. We were so close that we ended up almost hitting the boat on our bow. I was impressed by the Security guy arriving at 4:15am to help us get off the dock! Other than that it was a good stay!
Great place to stay. You can’t ask for more. Right downtown with all the restaurants and museums within a short walk. The facilities were clean and safe, with everything we needed.
Extremely helpful dock staff. helped us tie up and then moved us when they needed some more space.
Very helpful staff. There's construction nearby and is a bit noisier in the mornings. Docks could use some renovations.
This marina was an amazing place to ring in the New Year … dock hands were super helpful and facilities were clean. Loved that we were within walking distance to great restaurants and museums - will definitely be returning to this marina in 2019
Very rolly while on the transient dock, all night long. I assume it was the E SE wind. 2 guests in our part were sea sick, just from overnight. Otherwise, very convenient to St. Pete activities.
Great location. Love St. Pete's. The internet did not work at our location.
Great place. Excellent docking assist in and out. Location is amazing for visiting St. Petersburg. Safe and friendly boaters. Very dog friendly!
This marina is one of our favorites for access to a lively downtown entertainment area; the marina is calm, clean, and quiet. This trip was almost spoiled by lack of TV cable due to a recent change of providers (and the marina had no loaner "boxes."), and the Pier contruction made pedestrian access difficult. And, the office was never open Wed. through Fri. of T'giving week.
The facilities are very clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The location is great, right on the heart of downtown St. Pete close to amazing museums and restaurants.
It was slightly disturbing we had to wait for someone to bring a key to the marina to gain us access to the enatrnace for when we return.
Everything was great, dock attendants were first class!
Great stay and very convenient to downtown and museums. Don’t miss the Dali museum
Great stop. Friendly, helpful.
poor condition. many derelict vessels. Under construction. difficult access.
A good experience. Like the location and the dock is good. We came in for one day however and promptly without notice at 10:50 Sunday morning the power shut off to the shore power. Was not sure why, Then my wife said they like wanted us out at 11. That is good, but don't shut down my systems without notice. Also, maybe we would want to stay longer and pay to do so. Just sayin. Otherwise a great place and great location.
Everyone was so nice and helpful
I arrived "late" at 5:30. After tied up and plugged in security ask me to move to the end of the dock. even though there was plenty of space he wanted me to go to the end of the dock furthest from the bathroom. No other boats showed up so not sure why he made us move.
Always a great place to stay. Transient dock in good condition. Good WiFi reception. Good shower/restroom facility with day room. Downtown St. Petersburg provides many choices for entertainment and dining.
A bit run down and definitely impacted by the construction of the pier if you stay at the north transient dock you have this long walk to get out of the marina down a construction fence line.
The AC person referred to me by the marina, James “Jamie” Parks with Gumfcoast Marine was paid to install an AC unit. Weeks later the install was not complete and he told me to “Fu*k Off” when asked when he would return to complete the job. James then called my partner in Maine whom I own the boat with and explained that he would never allow his wife to speak to or question a man. As a woman living on a boat alone, I immediately changed the locks on the boat in fear that he may return and take the unit. I explained this to Joan Mcgown at the St. Pete Municipal Marina, who promptly called my partner to explain to him that I had complained about the service. I felt in no way comfortable or protected by the staff after that. We will not return to St. Petersburg Municipal Marina.
Excellent, friendly service! Highly recommend!
We are transients there and this experience was totally different than our one here only one month ago. We were berthed in a slip so far away from everything, that it made mobility in the local area a challenge. It would seem that the marina would book transients in a more convenient location because they typically do not have a way to get around. The north dock is close to the Downtown Looper trolley, and a bike-rental station.
The office people were friendly and helpful. The slip was tight and difficult to tie up in but I waited till the last minute to book so it was all that was available. That's more my fault then their's. I will be booking there again.
It was good but please advice guest where in the marina you can be expected to dock....we were planning for the main dock to meet friends with another boat and later plans but ended up in the south basin , it was ok but certainly not in our plans
No water the first day. Never mentioned this prior to our arrival..
Great service and friendly staff. Plus great fuel price for guests. Our favorite stop in Florida!
As I read on other reviews, the staff were great; welcoming and accomodating. They more than made up for men's facilities that were below my expectations (my wife said the women's were fine). Try to avoid the first slips in the south basin - your cleat will be outside the dock gate and rocks will be next to you. Overall it was fun and the marina is in a great location.
The marina people are very friendly and helpful. Free pump out, nice and clean restrooms and showers. Marina is right down town St. Pete - great location.
The staff were great. We tied up to the transient dock,Rob brought the keys down made sure we were comfortable
Dockwa's happy hour made it extra special. Thanks again, Becky. It gave us the opportunity to meet other boaters we would not otherwise have met, and new friends were made as a result. The marina is very accommodating and interested in making our stay wonderful. Love the dinghy dock! The local transportation is great. Thank you everyone.
We enjoyed it immensely. Friendly and helpful staff. We love St. Petersburg and visit downtown often. This is a rare visit by boat and we will do it again soon.
Enjoyed the privacy and location of the moorings. Not convenient to the bathrooms, showers, and laundry. Staff was excellent.
Great staff in a great location.
Outstanding service fantastic crew
Overall, this is a pretty nice marina. The docks are almost all 1/2-finger docks with pylons, and are fixed. Although the marina has a breakwater, enough waves get through it that there is almost always some wave action at the docks, and if the wind is above 20 knots, the wave action is significant. The docks are well maintained, as are the rest of the facilities. Speaking of facilities, they have a very deep water approach and within the marina, able to easily accommodate a 5-feet keel. There is a fuel dock, and a not-so-easily accessible pump-out station. However, they provide free mobile pump-out service that can be scheduled within a week. There are also 3 separate restroom/shower/laundry facilities around the marina. They are all pretty comparable. The one near the South Basin has 4 separate showers for the men (and presumably the same number for the women) within a heated/cooled restroom, and one restroom/shower room that is separate from the rest. There are 4 washers and 4 dryers, and a community room with vending machines, a microwave, and a widescreen TV. All are quite clean. There is also a public park within the marina, but the REAL draw is that downtown St. Petersburg is just steps away. St. Pete is a really nice city, with lots or restaurants, bars, and cafes, a multiplex movie theater, a live-theater venue, shopping, etc. Almost anything you could want is within walking distance. They also have an excellent public transit system that is pretty inexpensive if you get a weekly or monthly transit pass. Of course, there are also taxis, Uber, and Lyft. The University of South Florida campus is about 5 blocks from the marina entrance, and they have excellent free WiFi in the campus library. As usual, the free WiFi in the marina is almost non-existent. Finally, the staff at the marina office are very willing to help, if you ask. Overall, this is a very nice marina.
The Marina emailed a reservation confirmation as well as an additional welcome with a clear and detailed marina map. Marina assistant Doug called us to confirm our approximate eta and asked that we call him approx. 1/2 hour away which we did. Doug gave us our slip number which we were able to locate on the emailed map. Doug followed up with a call to us as we were approaching the marina and talked us in by landmarks while simultaneously waving to us from the dock. Doug was at our slip to help with lines and hook up of power and water. He gave us a review/tour of amenities as well as secure key card and wifi. After a 25 hour Gulfcrossing, this simply could not have been a better process for someone new to the area.
Always a great stop. Robert and Doug exceptional!
Robert met us at dink dock with keys Seamless and easy. Enjoyed dinner downtown
I was frustrated prior to our arrival not knowing if we had an arrival due to the use of Docwa howeve one we arrived I could not have been more pleased. Doug called prior to our approach and made it right to our dock. He helped us tie up and made sure we had our keys and knew exactly where everything was. The facility is within walking distance of everything. We had a great time.
It would be nice if shower and bathrooms were cleaned after check out time.
We had a fantastic weekend getaway from our typically hectic days. Great location and dock master!
Spent a night on a mooring buoy. The buoys are all well marked, and in good shape. Marina folks were quick to bring us a key card for the gate. Probably would be bumpy if there is an easterly wind, as there are a lot of reflective waves that bounce off all the seawalls around the mooring basin.
St. Petersburg municipal Marina is excellent. Dockwa is not.
Have stayed before. Doug is always most helpful and right on top of things.
Doug was an amazing dockmaster. He was very friendly, helpful and when we couldn't get us on the face dock he accommodated us by providing a slip that was actually owned by the people in the slip next door. Way to go above and beyond for customer service. Thank you! We all had a great time and the Punta Gorda Sailing Club will be back!!!! Dotti and Mark Vaivoda S/V Toots Sea
I love this marina and the staff Tony and Robert are the best but I dislike the fact the City has started using Dockwa. This is not an improvement. However Dockwa is not concerned or interested in why I do not like Dockwa. However I will hit on a few points just in case this gets posted in its entirety. 1) I cannot verify my reservation timely. 2) I need to find a WiFi to verify, something that is sometimes difficult aboard 3) I have to phone the marina for particulars and to cancel 4) I am unable to request special services when making reservation 5) All the above creates a lot of uncertainty 6) Phone App does not use TEXT messaging only email see #2 above 7) There is no way to op-out of Dockwa unsolicited advertisement. 8) Additionally, if I wanted to leave a review I would do it in Active Captain. 9) Last Dockwa would not accept my personal email address because it didn't meet its criteria. This service could be greatly improved by updating the app to use text. Additionally, why cannot Dockwa calculate "face dock" docking correctly? This failure creates lost dockage revenue. Fix this.
It was great, thank you!
Very fine facility. Friendly, helpful staff. No information handout, so I had to call for wi-fi password. Way, way overpriced. Should not charge for bowsprit length. Charging by length is done to approximate usage of facility. A bowsprit does not add people, interior space, electrical usage, trash, etc.
The staff was great Doug was extremely helpful. Great location. Would definitely use this marina again if in the area.
Very friendly and helpful. Doug was awesome. Thanks
It is always good at St Pete Marina. Extra nice and helpful staff and very decent facilities. However the new reservation system Dockwa leaves much to be desired. Having to wait up to 24 hours for a confirmation is wrong. I used to be able to call the marina from the middle of the bay and they could tell right then and there if there was a vacancy. Or not. So I went online and did the reservation request. Now, it was getting real close to 24 hours later when I decided to call the marina directly. I mean if it was full I could stay at Marjorie Park Davis Islands and see fireworks. So a marina person lady was saying welllll,,,, we will have to see if there are any cancellations and such and that the transient dock was for 29 ft and up. (I'm 26') . So I asked at least call and tell me if I cant come so I can make other plans and she did call back within the 24 hour window and say they could put me in a slip instead. Great joy for real. We shared an end dock with another craft about the same size. Kind of tight but ok. But the transient dock had two boats on it and 350 feet of open space. It just made all the drama and waiting seem unnecessary unless a dozen boats had cancelled all of a sudden on a beautiful July 4th. This is the electronic age, the system it should work faster and be more accurate. I mean, I can call a hotel and know immediately if there is a vacancy. Is Dockwa charging the city for this inconvenience? I like talking to a dockmaster, not a website.
Doug was amazing!!! Called to see where we were around our arrival since we were a bit late. Met us on the dock. handled all our lines and electric. Tide was really high and he even loaned us a ladder to get on and off the boat. Great experience and great customer service!!! We will be back.
Remarkable Municipal facility with outstanding helpful people.
Everything was great but mooring rope on 25 or 24, the one further west was so covered with growth I couldn't use it . Other than that great stay
