The mega dock at this marina is massive. We stayed here for a week to receive some packages and reset. We were assigned a spot on the outside of the mega dock itself. In the late afternoon through early evening the current gets pretty rough and has you bouncing around a bit, but it does settle down. We had 30 to 40ft of depth under us on the outside of the mega dock.
Pump outs are done via a pump out boat. As long as someone is free they can come take care of you. The laundry facilities and showers were really nice, as were the bathrooms. This marina is under construction, expanding their available slips and putting in all new floating docks. Parking is all gated, so for Walmart deliveries and Uber you need to walk up to the bus station bench by the gas station.
The staff were great! Super helpful and always answered the phone. There is a shuttle that runs every hour until close that will take you anywhere downtown, and it goes to West Marine once a day.
Charleston is a wonderful city and we will definitely be returning to this marina to spend more time. It was a great experience all around.
