Safe Harbor Stingray Point is the eastern-most marina on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay, at the mouth of the Rappahanock River on Broad Creek. The Marina is located 1.5 miles East of Deltaville, Virginia on State Route 33. Surrounded by a heavily wooded area, it is the last developed area on the left before turning to Safe Harbor Stingray Point. It provides access to the wonders of the Bay within a few minutes: its secluded creeks and scenic rivers, its open waters for distance sailing, its abundant wildlife (eagles, ospreys, porpoise, gulls, wading birds and waterfowl) and its copious fishing and seafood grounds.
Loved our stay at Stingray Point! Tina and Lee are very personable and helpful. The park like setting feels like a campground with grills, fire pits, loaner bicycles, etc. Very protected marina. Absolutely recommended Stingray Point.
Spent several weeks here. I love the low-key, somewhat campground feeling to it. You just want to relax and hang forever! Tina and Lee are superb people — knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful! Loved it here, and sorry to be leaving! Hint: A & B docks closer to the newer bathrooms, Free laundry, and pool house.
What a nice surprise! On our way home from a long ICW trip, we ran into bad weather and had to detour into Deltaville. My wife did a quick search into nearby marinas and as a Safeharbor member we came across SH Stingray Point. Tina and Lee were so accommodating and pleasant in the last minute booking and in helping us tie up. A lot of green space and nice grounds for dogs. Internet was strong and bathrooms were beautiful. We even took advantage of the free laundry machines. We'll be back again.
Deltaville, Va is one of the numerous peninsulas at the many river ends within the Chesapeake Bay. A marina with a traditional Chesapeake Bay Screw-pile lighthouse as their office.
Great Hurricane hole and year round home port with lots of friendly weekenders and locals too!
Our non-profit was donated a boat that is berthed at this marina. The staff could not be friendlier. They volunteer to help with problems. I will miss this marina when we head south
SH Sting Ray Point is a lovely spot to duck into on your way up or down the Chesapeake Bay. The marina staff provides detailed, easy to follow, instructions to enter the channel into the marina, which could be a bit tricky. The facilities are clean and well maintained and staff friendly and helpful. There are restaurants to where one can bike (provided) as well as a West Marine within a couple of miles. We will definitely come back if we find ourselves in the area.
We putted into Stingray Point on one engine. Tina and Lee went above and beyond to help us! We contacted them to let them know our arrival time was delayed due to engine issues. They provided a list of mechanics and stayed late to make sure we arrived safely. They also helped us get oil which we needed for the engine. The marina is quiet and in a beautiful spot. It was a bit tricky to navigate on one engine and coming in at dark - but we were provided a map so that helped. The restrooms were clean and nice.
Wonderful gem of a marina. Peaceful evening by the fire pit. Clean , well equipt bathhouse. Friendly helpful staff (Tina). Sad to only spend a night. But will definitely come back.
It was a little shallow on the transient slip. Helpful staff. Acceptable showers. Appreciated free bike use. Nice, quiet place.
Although the main bath house is being renovated, the facility is very nice and clean. Tina who is the manager was very helpful, professional and friendly. Will definitely come back.
Excellent location, amenities and service. Tina and Lee, Business Managers, were very attentive and provided excellent directions and assistance for our transient overnight needs. Highly recommend
Wonderful marina. Peaceful setting and great staff.
Beautiful setting, Tina was wonderful and super informative. She emailed detailed instructions for approach and docking, very helpful. Would highly recommend and hope to return.
Great marina! Well protected, nice facilities and VERY helpful staff!
Amazing amazing amazing. I cannot say enough about Tina and Lee and Safe Harbor Stingray Point. Communication was fast and effortless, docks and tie ups are top notch, bathrooms were so clean and the water hot. My only regret is not being able to stay longer. Thank you to Safe Harbor for giving us safe harbor!
Last minute reservation but got put in a very difficult slip to get in and out of with the wind conditions. Also, showers/indoor plumbing available in that area of the marina. Apparently under renovation. Only had port a potties. They reluctantly gave only a 10% discount.
Fantastic….Tina is a first rate manager. Great guidance on getting into a tricky location
Great marina. Quiet, nice facilities. Marina manager Tina was very helpful and welcoming. Nice escape, we will be back! Returned for another great visit. Love this place.
The sailboat stargazer behind me had an alarm sounding every 6 seconds all night.
Nice quiet marina. Facilities in good shape though the bathrooms could use an update. Tina was very friendly and helpful!
Tina was VERY helpful and so available to assist in our arrival and at any time. Great service!
Tina and Lee were great, making sure we got on to the dock and securely tied up. We were the odd-duck (6o ft power catamaran) at the Marina, but they did their best to take care of us and meet our needs.
Tucked back in a cozy inlet. Nice stop over place with a friendly staff. They were very helpful and wanted to make sure our stay was pleasant. Quite marina, nice pool.
Tina and Lee were outstanding! The marina was nice and the social the night we were there was wonderful. We appreciate being invited even though we were transients - Virginia hospitality!
Tina, the manager, was outstanding. She provided an email with detailed layout of the the marina, with our slip location and a track of our entry along with satellite view. Very helpful someone who had never been to Deltaville. She also was at the dock to help us tie up. The marina is in a lovely setting expansive grounds well maintained.
I ended up staying 3 nights due to weather. Tina was great and arranged a trip so that I could get more supplies. I borrowed their bike for dinner transportation and exercise. Great stay!
What a great marina! Although we were only there for the night, we really enjoyed the beautiful scenery and quiet atmosphere. And Lee was very helpful and accommodating. Just a great experience. We will definitely be back!
Tina was so helpful, informative and knowledgeable about the area and marina. She emailed us the layout of the marina before we arrived so we could plan our arrival. She met us at the pump out dock and then at our slip. She was attentive with any concerns or questions. We had a spot/slip that was so peaceful and quiet. There is plenty of area to walk around or bike (they have complementary bikes). There is a beautiful light house replica to walk around and admire the view. Laundry machines are new and bathrooms are clean and nice. This marina is a hidden gem. Tina makes it even nicer. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Very tricky entry and exit. Hard to get connected on dock.
This is how I wish all marinas were. From the professional assistance by Tina, to the beautiful grounds, and friendly atmosphere we will definitely return if in the area.
This is a gem of a marina surrounded by fields and lovely walking trail right on the Chesapeake. The highlight is the reconstructed lighthouse filled with local art and original drawings and sketches dating back to the 1800s. Tina is a real gem and a wealth of local knowledge, she provided professionalism when sorting out a snafu with our Safe Harbor membership .The Marina Itself boasts updated showers& bathhouse, complimentary clean laundry a clubhouse and pool, all are tidy and neat as a pin . If you are considering Stingray Point, do it , Deltaville is a short bike ride away, with complimentary bikes and has many unique local restaurants, Marine store, grocery store, liquor store . This is one of our favorite marinas on our 9000 mile journey. We will be back.
Tina was so helpful when we arrived. She helped us get situated at the dock and gave us great info on the marina. She secured two bikes for us to use and gave us suggestions for places to see and places to eat. The marina is very nice, and the showers/ bathrooms are very clean and nice! We didn’t use the pool because it was too cold but it looked inviting and I’m sure on a hot day it would have been great! It’s a nice quiet marina tucked back in the broad creek. Lee was also very helpful and worked on getting the internet reset when it went out. Very friendly people with great people skills!
Very nice marina and wonderful, helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay. Thanks, Tina, for the guide to area restaurants and clear email communications. This marina has clearly marked, deep water approach, excellent wifi, power, spacious and clean bath facilities.
Quiet, simple, perfect spot to lay over one night on our trip South. Lee was super! \nBikes were fun! Courtesy truck to town was huge to stock up on provisions. Not many marinas like this any more! Thank you so much!
I was a transient slip guest at the Safe Harbor Stingray Point in Deltaville, VA. The marina staff were very helpful and conscientious on and off the dock. When I arrived, they were there to greet me and and my pet and to confirm my satisfaction of the slip assigned to me and assisted me in tying up the boat. Once there the facility grounds were explained indicating the location of the pool, laundry, bathroom, showers and common social room. The off dock facilities were in excellent condition haven been recently updated. While at the marina, notwithstanding 48 hours of up to 50 mph winds and rain from Hurricaine Ian, the fixed docks and electric remained safe and accessible and the staff made available a marina vehicle so that I could purchase provisions, equipment an attend to an unexpected medical needs. As mentioned earlier, the boat slip docks were fixed in height. However, the length of the finger docks were were shorter then I would have preferred and required me to remove my dinghy so that I could lay down a small sheet of plywood off my transom in order to allow my dog to get on and off the boat. A longer finger pier would have made things easier, especially if my only ingress and regress was from thr bow. Notwithstanding, I was very satisfied with my stay and would have no problem recommending to anyone interested in a high quality transient stay.
Our stay was awesome. The facilities were great but the whole experience was mostly made special by Ms. Tina B. Mennett. She is a real gem and helped us in so many ways, from promptly assisting in showing us the slip and docking our NT42 trawler "Sea Flat", to introducing us to the facilities, to recommending local restaurants to allowing us to use a Safe Harbor pickup to travel a several miles to dinner. Please commend Ms. Mennett most highly from us. Sincerely, David W. Anderson, CAPT, MC, USN(ret)
Awesome location, very nice amenities that make you want to stay longer. friendly boaters and dockmaster is exceptional
Very happy that we stopped here. Only a few transient spots, but we got lucky. Nice folks, nice facility, well-maintained. What more could we want ?
Nice marina, good staff. Didn’t have 50 amp power so we had to improvise. Everything clean.
We had a wonderful stay at Safe Harbor Stingray Point. Lee is amazing! He makes you feel really cared for. He is extremely responsive on the phone. He took our lines, helped tie us up and shared his knowledge about the area. He keeps the whole marina in great shape and we thoroughly enjoyed walking throughout the marina, on the docks. We were there for the second time recently and the experience was, once again, great.
Great staff. They were very accommodating. Nice pool, grills and clubhouse. Marina is also very well protected.
Lee the docmaster was very accommodating, friendly and helpful
Tina & Lee are very nice. Marina is beautiful & quaint. They have marina vehicles and they may allow you to use them, but they are not courtesy vehicles so don't count on them. There's a West Marine, hardware & grocery nearby. Going on city water in a few weeks. No fuel. Great stay in a very nice area. Highly recommend!
Tremendously helpful and knowledgeable staff. Put us in touch with a diver who was on time, highly knowledgeable and reasonably priced. Loaned us a vehicle for provisioning. Would have liked to stay longer.
very accommodating as we were having weather issues and were not sure we could get into the marina before the storm. They were willing to help us find a closer marina. They were 100% customer service oriented and treated us like family. Our boat neighbors were terrific, bathrooms great and pool is beautiful. Perfect place with great restaurants near by, we chose the Galley.
Nice, quiet, we’ll-protected marina. Dockmaster Lee was very helpful and accommodating. Plenty of depth for our 5’5” draft.
