Great staff at Tidewater! Showers have hot water, facilities are well maintained, and restaurant is good. Also, walking distance to downtown Portsmouth with additional restaurants and a very neat movie theater. Don't pass up seeing a first-run film there while you enjoy dinner. Take the $2 ferry across the river to downtown Norfolk and it's restaurants and the Nauticus Museum. If you're old, like us, the ferry is only $1 each way. You need to have dollar bills; no change and no change---just single dollar bills. We'd stay here again if we come back this way.
