Tidewater Yacht is located in the heart of Portsmouth’s Olde Towne District, where the city has engaged in one of the most impressive restoration projects on the waterway. A short, scenic drive away are such historic attractions as Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown and James River Plantations, as well as the theme parks Busch Gardens, Water Country USA, Ocean Breeze Water Park and of course, the Virginia Beach resort area oceanfront. On the water, you’ll never have to leave your boat to enjoy such fun festivals and activities such as Harborfest, 4th of July, Race to Cock Island, Rendezvous-Mile Marker Zero, Parade of Lights and New Year’s Eve festivities. You’ll have a front row seat to everything the Portsmouth and Norfolk have to offer!
They were excellent. We called and inquired about a slip and we received a very quick response and then excellent guidance to our slip. Once docked they were very informative and helpful. The staff took the time to explain not only the marina but also the town. We we were scheduled to leave, we left but the bridge did not open again and they said just to come back and dock where you were previously docked. Friendly, professional, accommodating ,great staff and excellent facilities.
Excellent communications on a holiday weekend. The manager and dock master were very helpful. Facilities are top notch.
Great staff and location. The bathroom and laundry facilites are clean and modern. Fresh cookies and coffee are a bonus I gladly accepted. Would be great if they offered off season or weekly rate discounts but no compliants.
Very nice floating docks! The laundry facilities were very clean, and it was nice that they had 3 washers and 3 dryers. The view across the Elizabeth River was also beautiful at night.
Marina remained open past4:30 to allow for refueling and allowed us to remain at the fuel dock overnight. The staff were really nice
Marina was full due to a railroad bridge closing, but we got a great slip, and the staff were very helpful.
Very accommodating, excellent facilities, very helpful staff and the restaurant on site was superb.
Very accommodating, top notch facilities and helpful/polite team. Hey placed us on a floating dock which was ideal.
Great Marina. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Enjoyed the location very much.
Super nice marina. Rick Monday the dock master was great. He drove us and our provisioning down the dock in his golf cart. They recommended Grizzard Repair service who did a first class job replacing a cooling pump on one of our engines.
Great staff and perfect location to get half way through Norfolk. Southbound, 45 min to RR#7 bridge and ~1hr 15min to the lock.
Great facility, helpful, friendly staff, clean. Will be back
Another great stay!!! See you again in the spring.
Love staying at this Marina, it is within walking distance from town and the ferry! Also had very clean bathrooms ,showers, and laundry room! We also visited the Marina restaurant and enjoyed happy hour and all the food was amazing. This is a must stop for us, we never go by it, love it😁👍💜.
Awesome Marina, Easy stop for food and fuel. Great staff.
The Dockmaster, GM, and staff were very accommodating for our group of five cruising sailboats to stay at the marina for four nights. We loved it here and will definitely be back!
always a nice marina... new(men's) bathroom very well done. Got their fuel back too. Dont' like the remodel of the dockhouse,, though. not much boating gear but plenty of wine and beer
Very helpful and responsive. Watch the tides and current on the Elizabeth river for best results.
We've stayed there many times and it's always good. The staff is very friendly and professional and the facilities are good. Since Suntex acquired the facility there have been numerous repairs and improvements. It had gotten a little run down but now it's back to an A+ facility.
Really enjoyed our stay here! The staff was very helpful and professional, and the location is close to the ferries to Norfolk, the Navy Hospital, and Old Town Portsmouth!
Excellent facility, floating docks, walking distance to many restaurants. Dock master very helpful with docking and dining recommendations.
Pulled in for fuel and stayed 2 nights ( August 2024) the manager is a nice friendly guy and will try to help you out whenever possible....the bathrooms and showers were great...protected so nice and quiet....restaurant on premises...took UBER to grocery store...coffee shop a fair walk but good coffee and.
Just wanted to let you know, we decided not to leave our boat there overnight. There was a bunch of sketchy characters running around on the dock using foul language and smoking non-tobacco products. We have friends who own a condo right across from the marina and I did not feel comfortable leaving my boat there unattended. So we made the long drive back to our dock that night, which was not our intention after watching the fireworks.
Outstanding service and location, love the restaurant and the dock help was awesome!! Even when I drove past the dock!
Dock master Rick was knowledgeable and helpful. Great floating docks. Clean facilities.
Rick and Jessica were absolutely amazing. We have never had a Marina accommodate our group the way these two did for us. Thank you so much!
Great stay, can't thank Rick and entire crew for their professionalism and courtesy. will definitely go back..
The marina has some construction going on. Pool is not open till 2025, this was a Hugh disappointment. Power at assigned dock was tripped and would not reset. Had to plug into adjacent power pedestal. But mostly the restaurant Fish n Slips was the biggest disappointment. Food was terrible including desert. Pretty sure it was frozen than thawed. Service in the restaurant was also lacking, I had to ask for anything I wanted including another drink. I sat at the bar...it was not crowded at all. Gratuities were automatically added!? Must be a Virginia thing?
Excellent dock help on arrival. Great marina, easy to access Portsmouth and Norfolk restaurants and activities. Front desk very helpful, bathrooms /showers and laundry room clean and conveniently located in marina. Rick, General Manager, checked in on us regarding our stay prior to our departure and provided us with great information on our next destination. Would definitely recommend.
We stayed at Tidewater Yacht Marina for a week from 21 -29 June 24. The Marina and its dock and office personnel were all outstanding. Very peaceful stay with easy access to downtown Portsmouth and Norfolk via the harbor ferry which docked a short walk from the Marina. Their facilities were very nice and the office had beer, soda, etc that saved us from traveling off property for it. Some weather blew through while we were there and the breakwaters provided great protection from the winds. Uber was readily accessible and provisioning was easy to get to. We had Walmart delivery while there , which is always convenient. Nice picnic area and grills - was very nice place as we hung out with friends on several evenings. The fuel dock was easy to get to and the dockhands did a GREAT job catching our lines there and at the slip. Extending our stay was very easy through the Dockwa App too. Took the ferry to the Norfolk Tides MiLB game which was very convenient from the marina. This was one of our favorite stops thus far on the Great Loop. We will definitely return to Norfolk, and Tidewater will be our #1 preferred Marina. Thanks ! Dewayne & Lisa J. MV VolAboard
The marina is good and infrastructure improvements are underway. Rick and Jessa are great and Rick bends over backwards to be helpful. Some fairways have less depth than reported and we bumped a few times in a supposedly 10 ft fairway with our 7 ft draft. STAY AWAY from Fish n’ Slips. The food is bad, the service is worse, it’s over-air conditioned and it’s overpriced. Three staff members hang around idly at reception while customers wait hours for service. And without telling you, they slap an 18% service charge on the already inflated bill and still suggest more tips! The last straw was a dog occupying a barstool while there weren’t enough seats for would-be paying customers.
Nice quiet marina. We only stayed one evening but amenities that we used were fine. Good place to access the river walk on the Portsmouth side of the river.
Sockhands dis not give me access codes to showers. Place opens at 9am and closes at 4:30pm, time during which transients navigate. Not impressed.
Great marina with wonderful staff. So friendly and helpful. Clean laundry with 3 washers and dryers. This was our second time there.
Returned on our trip north. Great location away from the noise of Downtown. Took a short dinghy ride across the river to enjoy another tour of the battleship.
Always a great time at Tidewater Yacht. I have been using their services for years whether attending an event in Norfolk/Portsmouth or passing through. The people are great and the facilities are well kept. Highly recommended!
Excellent facility. Great reception for slip holders during Norfolk Harbor Fest. A very busy time for the staff, and as a result, responsiveness to arrivals was lacking in communications, information flow, and attention to boater needs while docking.
I could not ask for better service. The TYM TEAM was SPOT ON!!!
Great staff, good access to town with many restaurants, clean restrooms, and lively dock.
Great weekend stay during Harbor Fest. Best view of the fireworks. Always a great stay.
Another great stay at TYM for Harborfest! It was disappointing that the pool was closed, but the staff was amazing. We really enjoyed the live music, food, and drinks that were provided. Special shout to to Curt! Thank you. Brian ("Jo-Nell").
Great location. Easy access to go across to Norfolk if needed. Great views.
Came in after closing time (4PM) and dock master and crew hung around an extra hour to help us get secured.
This is one of the best marinas I have stayed at on the eastern seaboard. The staff is most accommodating and every time I come through Portsmouth, I am sure to stay at Tidewater. Consummate professionals for the cruising and yachting industry.
If every marina treated their customers the way that Tidewater treats their customers, we would all enjoy boating more.
We made a last minute decision to splurge on a dock over anchoring out. Entry to the marina was easy and we were directed to an excellent slip. Right next to the bathrooms which were clean and cheery. This is something we have not seen as much as of late. The dock staff were welcoming and very professional helping with docking as we arrived and departed. The restaurant on site, “Fish and Slips” for the need. Hot chicken wings were HOT! Some confusion with the involuntary 18% gratuity added to the bill but that was worked out. Overall, an excellent place to stay. I would give it 5 stars but for the ongoing construction and difficulty is skirting around it all. Next year, when we return I would not be surprised to give it 5-stars.
Friendly service , Easy access , good restaurant, ( reasonable ) clean showers. 👍👍👍👍👊
Great floating docks and wide transient slips. Clean restrooms and showers that could use services more often to maintain paper products. Very helpful dock master / manager Rick who has excellent knowledge of the area.
A frequent stay for us for snow birds. Staff and ( dock-master Kurt ) is always very accommodating and responds to needs asap. Thanks for another trouble free stay . The cookies will be expected on our return trip ! There really good
Marina facilities are up to date and we'll kept. Staff are helpful and friendly. Only negative was the laundry.....a long walk from our dock and expensive.
The staff was fantastic, even gave us ride to a nearby pharmacy. Great stopping place on our trip.
A great place to stay, great place to sightsee as well.
Dockmaster and staff were very helpful and attentive. We stayed on a floating dock, which was nice. Restaurant on site was good. Restrooms above average. Interesting town within walking distance. The ferry to Norfolk is out of commission.
Rick and his crew are fantastic. We will definitely be back everytime we go north or south on our cruise! Thanks again for a great stay :)
The staff are all very helpful, and this marina offers an easy in and out from the ICW. The showers are clean; the laundry ($3 per wash, $3 per dry) operates with debit/credit card or Apple Pay, which is convenient if you don’t carry quarters. The onsite restaurant, Fish & Slips, serves up some tasty food, too.
Perfect stay for transient slip. Everyone was very helpful and friendly.
I was bringing a 27 foot sailboat south and stopped here. I had to stay a bit due to weather. I could not have been more pleased with the staff and the facilities They even made sure I had cookies every time I went to the office. Wonderful place to dock
Great visit. Easy on to a floating dock. Good help with lines. WiFi service was consistent with a good signal. Good parking for guests visiting.
Construction is all done. Beautiful facility with great view of recreational Norfolk. Everyone from dock hands to dock master friendly and engaging. The food at Fish and Slips (on site) was a cut above usual marina restaurant food ( which we quite like anyway).
Great location & restaurant. We were directed to the laundry and then after lugging our clothes to be washed, we found it was out of order and the staff by then had left for the day.
Rick Monday, the Dockmaster couldn’t have been more accommodating to wait late for us. Great service!
Great facility and very friendly staff. The on-site restaurant, Fish & Slips was a pleasant surprise with very good food. Also, the historic district of Portsmouth was fun to explore.
Well-maintained floating docks with great staff very near a major city. Dock prices were reasonable, and they have Dockwa deals sometimes. Suntex is starting to put serious money into this marina with improvements to the docks, railings, and marina store. They could do with some improvements to the landside as the parking lots and surrounding area is very rough. No boater's lounge, any place to walk the dog or respectable parking. Marina staff are very welcoming and helpful. On-site restaurant (Fish and Slips) is one of the best in the area. Quaint town of Portsmouth and water taxi to Norfork is a half mile walk away.
We loved the Fish and slip’s restaurant and being so close to Old towne in Portsmouth. Some of the docks still need a little bit of work but they are working on it. I only have 4 stars because of the bath house. I didn’t shower there because the lights didn’t work, no heat in cooler weather and most of all I didn’t feel secure. I let them know that if someone leaves the bath house, the only way to lock the door is to pull it closed. Most of the time I went up there the security door pushed right open. Not cool when a women needs a shower so I just showered on the boat. I just didn’t feel safe.
Great stay as per usual. The team is awesome and friendly, can't wait to come back again next year
Caitlin, Sent dock renderings and access codes before we arrived and all went great.
Nice showers and bathrooms. Very nice restaurant (Fish & Slips)!!
We stayed 2 nights. Staff was very helpful and very nice! They helped us into our slip, which was a bit of challenge for us be sure we had to back in. The Marina is in the process of remodeling. When it’s done, it’ll be very nice. Right now, it’s a long walk to the laundry room. The showers in the ladies bathroom closest to the docks is VERY exposed. They are by the door and are nit private showers. They are clean - but you’ll definitely be seen by anyone entering the bathroom. There WAS a pool. Which I hope they fix, but doesn’t look likely. The restaurant on-site is awesome! Great happy hour prices. Staff was attentive! There’s a ferry to take to the other side that runs often. Can’t remember the times. The pickup spot for the ferry is a 5-7 minute walk. We had groceries delivered to the Marina also. We really enjoyed our time there!
Disappointed to arrive to find the pool had been ripped out, should update your website and marketing materials. Not secure- all gates were tied open
Tidewater Yachts is my go to marina for events on the water in and around Norfolk and Portsmouth, VA. The rest rooms and showers are clean, staff accomodating and responsive. A Ferry landing is in walking distance if you want to go across river and visit Norfolk to enjoy restaurants or visit Nauticus.
Would like to have wifi and mens and lady restroom combos for people arriving after closing hours.
The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. I was part of a group of 12 boats visiting the marina for four days and the entire group was checked on many times to see if we needed anything. We all felt that our business was appreciated.
Curt the dock master was fabulous. The marina is going through renovations. The pool was unavailable. There is rerouting as a result of work on docks which is very confusing. Increased signage during this period is needed. In the end these renovations will make this a great place.
Great experience, wonderful town. Would recommend highly.
Was a great time, the walk was long from A dock to fish and slips. I do understand that they are under construction. Still we Will be back.
Great time. Great people, very helpful. I never had to leave the dock
The best location to view Harborfest. Will return when construction improvements are completed.
Excellent help docking. Marina has some refurbishment construction ongoing but it did not affect us. The Bath house was clean. The on-site restaurant has a good happy hour and the small town feel of Portsmouth is great. It is a very short walk to the old town area with many restaurants and bars. A new spot about to open named Thyme on the River looks very promising - owners gave us a tour. Highly recommend this Mariana and town vs directly across river in Norfolk
Very helpful at the dock coming in. Friendly at the office.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Great restaurant, looking forward to our next stay
Due to dock replacements in progress the fuel dock was shutdown, the pump out, and showers were periodically closed. The staff was exceptional. However, the service in the marina restaurant was nearly nonexistent, and there is a mandatory 18% service charge. The showers did not have any hooks or shelves which made placing clothes and other items difficult.
Great marina! Helped me with docking. A lot of renovations since my last visit more than year ago
Staff is very friendly and will guide and assist you to your slip. The restaurant has nice menu and is reasonably priced and food is delicious. They have nice amenities.
All the good reviews were from the previous staff!! Now they literally have staff beating up the elderly over parking spots …. They have no water .. no mail.. restrooms are nasty … so on and so on
Easy access. Very friendly and accommodating. Excellent restaurant on-site, and short walk to downtown Portsmouth.
The yard is a construction site. Docks are good and staff friendly and helpful. There is an awful sewer smell by the office that has been there for years. Owner Rick is very caring.
Nice marina, main private showers under Reno so there is a locker style shower room to use for the time being. Nice people, very helpful. Good restaurant but limited menu.
The facilities are clean and the people very helpful and friendly. The surrounding area is historic and clean too.
Wish they had diesel but they are replacing their tanks. Sister marina just south was not open when we left around 8am
The facilities were beautiful clean and well-maintained. They are also in the process of upgrading some of the facilities. Beyond the great facilities the staff from the general manager to the dock manager were absolutely first class. The on-site restaurant had a great menu and the drinks were excellent.
Arrival was after hours but they sent a pic of marina with slip circled. No diesel was disappointing and every trash and re-cycling bin was overflowing. Ate at the restaurant huge disappointment with bad service and automatic 18% service charge/to added. Waitress described the side differently than it actually was. My wife was finished her Luke warm meal before mine arrived. Wifes meal was passed by kitchen staff over my head and handed to her across the table. We waited to order appetizers til we got our table as part of our meal however even with being seated at the bar and paying for drinks before 7, happy hour pricing was not honored as we had to wait for the waitress to the our order after going g to get water. Not a pleasant experience and we had been there before and it was not so tardy. Staff was pleasant enough, just no efficient at all.
A very well run marina! Rick and staff are fantastic and very helpful. Facilities are in great shape and well maintained. Decent restaurant on site as well. Nice walk and park just outside of the marina. Highly recommend.
We spent four nights in October at Tidewater Yacht Marina after coming down the Chesapeake. When we arrived, there was a fair bit of confusion as to our slip and requirements, but to the credit of the dockmaster Curt everything was sorted out in a friendly and efficient manner. During our stay we found all the staff from Sarah and Cait in the office to the dock hands very friendly and helpful. While we were there, the bathrooms under the restaurant were under renovation so were not available, but the bathrooms at the head of the dock had been renovated and were spick and span clean. The laundry facilities looked rather old, but worked well and were very reasonably priced ($2 a load for wash or dry). We will definitely be staying here again! If you are a “narrow” catamaran (fit in normal slips), you are best to call them for your reservation so you aren’t charged the catamaran rate.
Terrific stay. Although Tidewater no longer has a service department on site, Curt the dockmaster called Claude Nix at Prudent Marine before I arrived and Claude replaced a D series engine starting battery the same day. Great stay and service!
The staff was great!! We were in for 2 nights and got excellent service. Note: There are many interesting things within walking distance and you can take a ferry over to Norfolk/Waterside.
Friendly staff, great views, awesome pool, nice amenities
Pro: The staff members were all super helpful. Con: Cleanliness of restaurant, bathrooms, even the dock office left much to be desired.
Attentive staff and nice facility. Reasonable rates.
Always nice. The restaurant and crew is different than the past but awesome. Help coming in was offered and accepted with gratitude. Livaboards are extremely nice. Highly recommend
Nice Marina When we arrived after a 14 hour day someone was in our slip. Luckily they showed and moved it or we would have had to move it ourselves. The restaurant and staff were amazing after our late arrival. Couldnt use the wifi as we didnt have the password.
We stopped by for one night as a change from our normal stop. Access was much easier than the instructions to describe how to get to my slip. Probably more my fault than theirs. We ate ate at the restaurant and it was very good. Had a short walk around the area. Great for a one nighter. Not sure how much to do in the area.
Good location. Very helpful manager and staff. Clean professionally run facility. I will definitely stay there again!
We had a great stay at Tidewater. They've had some freeze damage, but worked with us make sure we had water and a floating dock. We also needed some wire for an autopilot failure and they came through with exactly what we needed. Thanks Tidewater!
Very nice! Helpful staff and great amenities! We’ll be back!
Very nice and dockhand and harbor master helpful. Entrance could have been tricky, however the gal at the front desk gave very detailed and precise directions that we had no problem finding our slip. Clean bathrooms.
Staff is great, very friendly and helpful. They are working to get marina back in shape. bathrooms and showers clean, but need some repairs. Restaurant on site very good. Nearby ferry perfect to explore Norfolk .
An hour before arrival we call for slip assignment. Told floating dock, port side, and location. When we arrived our spot was filled and we had to switch on the fly to a totally opposite setup. Told the other boat just “took” the spot. That’s BS. Make them move not us.
Staff was friendly and competent. Bathroom was ok and on site bar restaurant is pretty good
Great experience Friendly helpful staff Wonderful restaurant
Has a lot of potential with a premier location for exploring historic Portsmouth and Norfolk, but facilities in poor condition with no apparent interest in improving. The dockhands and staff were friendly, helpful, and worked hard to make the best, but I don't think they are given the resources needed. We had to be there several weeks and during the entire time the WiFi didn't work, pool closed, no pumpout or diesel, no carts to bring supplies from the parking lot, bathrooms dated and need of repair. We were put on fixed dock because of our beam and pilings were broken from rot and left laying on the dock. I think the floating docks are in much better shape and newer. Overall quite overpriced and I would only return for a few nights to explore the area and only if assigned a spot on a floating dock.
Marina needs some upgrades. Staff is helpful and friendly.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The marina is in a good location. The pump out was inoperative-this should be noted in Dockwa and/or the marina’s first response before confirming the reservation. The restrooms were not serviced/cleaned the 3 days of our stay.
Stayed 8-13 June 2021. Nice floating piers with good pier services. Dock hand was very helpful and experienced. The Restaurant is very good. but not open for Breakfast yet. The Pool was not open yet. Nice town to walk around with plenty of good places to eat and the museums are open.
No Diesel fuel. Didn’t know that until we arrived. Could have stopped somewhere else for fuel it we knew that.
Good dock hands Great restaurant If you are into beer and foo it’s ok Nothing else is worth stopping for
The people are very nice and helpful but the facilities are not in good shape. The Men's room is particularly bad- dirty and barely functional (on good days). Location is good though.
Great stay (except for no WiFi). We were put at a face dock close to the marina office and restaurant and the dock hand couldn’t have been nicer. Great tie up and even had a treat for our dog when we checked in. We always have a great stay here so until we don’t we will continue to return.
Well-maintained docks, friendly, helpful staff, good location. Appreciate being able to stay on fuel dock for a night when we arrived early during busy ICW migration season. Enjoyed the Fish and Slips restaurant at marina- good food, big portions, very reasonable prices. The rest rooms are fairly clean, but worn and dated, otherwise I would have rated 5 stars.
Really friendly staff. Well protected but right on the waterway.
Good facility, friendly and helpful service. Fish & Slips restaurant is convenient and good.
Staff was helpful, and Portsmouth is a city worth exploring. Bathrooms were not very clean. No diesel fuel during my 2 night stay. Restaurant, Fish & Slips was mediocre.
We had a bad experience here, upon arriving we were assigned a slip. The young lady working the counter came out to catch our lines. Before we could fully pull into the slip and stop our boat she quickly tied off our stern spring line (short), which stopped the boat abruptly swung our bow into the dock and our stern into the boat next to us. Luckily we were able to prevent any damage. She attempted to pull our stern in without using leverage from the dock cleat, at the same time one of the dock hands held our bow to the dock using a dock cleat. I politely asked her to cleat the stern line so i could properly use leverage to pull our stern towards the dock (18Klb vessel). She did cleat the line, but then yelled at me when i said the boat was too heavy to pull by hand. I then had to get the dock hand at the bow to let line out so we could straighten the boat. She then stormed off without offering to help hook up electricity, rudely telling us to come check in when we were done. We were in shock at this point, during check in they handed us a card, didn't tell us about the grounds, no more than 5 words from them even after asking questions. We tried to do laundry while there, again rude experience while asking for a key to the laundry room. The machines were in such nasty condition, (should have anticipated this after seeing the bathrooms) we promptly returned the key without washing our clothes. The marina it self is in a deteriorating state. The structural pilings on the main walkway leading to the parking lot are rotting below the water line. The dock and finger piers do have steal pilings so we felt our boat was secure. The marina is in a good location and it appeared work was underway to improve the structural issues and facilities. We will not be stopping here again and cannot recommend it to anyone else.
Had a blast Glad the pool was open Love this Marina
The bathrooms were not attended to. They were dirty. This is the review from last time we stayed there. Nothing has changed!
Stayed for one Saturday night of Memorial Day weekend. Thus the marina and restaurant in general we’re busy. Most staff were very pleasant. Restaurant food was very good and would definitely recommend sips and slips. Ship store was fairly well stocked with boat needs not so much on food items. Facilities are clean.
Nice stop at the end of a long run up from Marathon .... very helpful upon arrival .
Stopped here on my way up the coast. Billy and Kristen are awesome. Marina is in a great location and the new restaurant patio is a nice addition!
Friendly staff took good care of us. The town of Portsmouth is an easy walk and Norfolk and ferry ride across.
Facilities were excellent and the dock master gave us clear directions to our berth and was very competent and friendly. Highly recommended!
Only one person marina. John was very nice and helpful, however he was pulled in all directions. Still a good place to stop, easy in, easy out.
Dock hands were efficient helping us at the gas pump and to our slip. The “floating pool” is very small and hot. The biggest issue was marina bathrooms which were disgusting, and appeared to not be a priority, they were really gross.
Docks were clean and there was sufficient staff to handle the holiday crowd. Didn’t use the bathrooms. Great fireworks viewing!
Bottom line up front: we will *never* go back. Where to start? Wi-Fi was worthless; when it was available it wouldn't stay connected at our slip. The marina folks suggested we stay closer to the office. Had people all over the marina using propane grills on the dock; some folks were told it was ok to grill on their boats. We had three boat loads of folks come in and set up awnings *on* the dock, with their tables, grills, lawn chairs, fishing poles, etc. for 3 days. They were nice enough but we had to walk through their "living" area every time we left the boat. The 7-day a week shuttle is not...the owner and one of his drivers were drinking beer in the pool on Sunday and decided the shuttle would not run that day...leaving us without a way to get to town unless we walked. The "groceries" advertised on site consist of a few cans of chili, some crackers, chips, frozen hot pockets, and other junk like that, plus beer and wine. When asked about it, the marina office said "We have beer and wine, what else could you want?" The claim to be "one of the best marinas on the East coast" is laughable. The only bright spot is the dock hands who were all friendly and capable.
Nice marina. Nice dock hands. Food was ok at there restaurant.
Great marina, with great people. the restaurant is always a good experience. the Facility is clean and up to date. the only thing I wish they would change is the store hours during peak season, and weekends. we pulled in at 5:30 on a Saturday and they were closed already, would have been nice to have a dock hand help us tie up
Easy approach, nice staff, good restaurant, great view. The water taxi gave us an enchanting late evening tour of the greater harbor, including a close up water's edge view of Battleship WISCONSIN.
We loved this marina! Well protected, good dock hands, especially John, great on site restaurant, Fish&Slips, and Old Town Free Shuttle was the best! Our driver/owner, Greg, was not only our driver, but the best tour guide and so very helpful.
Marina has deteriorated since our stay 2.5 years ago. Bathroom and shower facilities are mediocre at best and need housekeeping.
It was fine until after I took a shower, I couldn’t find an electric outlet to dry my hair. I looked all through the ladies facility, but no plugs.
Friendly convenient marina. Excellent bar/eatery on site. Always happy to come to TYM.
Restroom not very clean. Hand towels and TP missing. Pool appeared to have algae in it. Store not open after five, Not good for late arrivals in summer. Will probably try somewhere else next time over that way. Still some good restaurants in walking distance, and very easy to stop on the ICW.
Nice as always, appreciate the addition of the pilings between the slips.
Good in all aspects except the pump out had almost no suction and could not pump even our small tank. Good diesel - Valvect - and decent price.
We tied up at approx 4:20 pm and requested to get about 500 gallons of fuel. The doc and had to request permission to start fueling me at that time as apparently management does not want to pay them overtime. One would think that a $1500 purchase could pay for a bit of overtime. Eventually, it was a happy ending and they did get permission to sell me fuel.
Convenient location, good facilities, onsite restaurant
Older marina well located to both Waterside & downtown Portsmouth. Staff friendly and professional. Marina bathrooms could use refurbishment and something to control smells.
We enjoy this marina for it's amenties and location. Floating pool, gas and diesel, pumpout station, pleanty of docking for transients large vessels or small, remodeled bath houses, wash house with commerical dryers and washers, within walking distance of many eateries, museums, a short $1.50 ferry ride to Norfolk VA with nice shopping mall, hotels, eateries, ballpark. A destination in itself, and short cruise from the Chesapeak Bay
