Approach

The approach to the Harraseeket River is marked by Red “4” (Fl R 4s) followed by Green “5”. You will pass Green “7” as you round the small island "Pound of Tea". Just after "Pound of Tea" will be Green “9”. From there, you will see the unofficial channel that goes straight to the town dock. Strouts Point is located before the town dock on the port side of the harbor as you approach from sea. The marina docks have blue and white signage with A, B, C, & D on the end of each main run. Fuel and pumpout are located on C Dock. Strouts moorings 101-114 will be on the port side as you approach from sea, mooring 115 will be on the starboard side shortly after entering the harbor. Strouts Moorings can be easily identified by their orange color.

I am a tough grader so 4 stars is not bad. Mike and crew were very patient with us in directing us to the mooring. Good quality and felt secure if a blow came through. Facilities were great to excellent. Laundry work out well using Brewers facilities and free coffee while I waited to wash($1.50) and Dry($2.00). The seafood restaurant next door was good and crowded during the day but quieted down shortly after sunset. South Freeport is a bit far from the Freeport hubbub but it’s a 3 mile walk or uber. Uber was pretty reasonable too. I put a few steps on while I stayed. Dinghy dock was reasonable other than everyone tilts their motors. Highly recommend!
