About

Located in Wilson Cove, and protected by Sheffield Island, Tavern Island, and Bell Island, Norwalk Yacht Club is a casual and family-oriented sailing club. Established in 1894, the Club is tucked inside Greens Ledge Light in a quiet cove featuring a small beach. There is beautiful kayaking and paddle boarding through the Norwalk Islands, Village Creek and Farm Creek. The Club mooring field accommodates sail and power boats of varying drafts. Club launch service runs from 8AM-11 PM seven days a week during commissioned season. Water and ice are available on the docks where there is about 7 feet at low tide. The deck provides picnic tables and grills and plenty of space to relax and enjoy the views. Showers and an air conditioned great room are available.

The launch brings visitors within an easy walk of the quaint town of Rowayton. Rowayton offers casual restaurants with good coffee, ice cream and sandwiches as well as more formal dining options, and access to provisions. Both Rowayton and historic SoNo are also easily accessible by cab. Hail the dock team on VHF channel 78A ,call us, or book directly through Dockwa.

Beautiful spot, friendly people. Great restaurants nearby. Don't pass by! Moorings are wonderful, the launch service is speedy. Great spot. We were here for one night, ended up loving it and staying three.

They do everything right, from sending a launch out to help us find our mooring ball, to the friendliness and responsiveness of the launch drivers, to the great facilities and the friendliness of the members. Best shower I’ve had in a while. They were also great in helping us find someone to repair our dinghy outboard, and local restaurant recommendations. We stayed here an extra day because we enjoyed the experience.

The launch drivers couldn't have been nicer or more accomodating! Lovely spot to stay - reasonably priced.

Quick launch service and the attendants were friendly. However, we overheard some criticism on the radio from whom I can only assume was the dockmaster. Evidently it was unacceptable to request a reservation 4 hours prior to arrival despite also radioing ahead as soon as we entered the harbor (their website mentions you can radio to request a mooring upon arrival anyway). Not sure what his problem was. I'm torn about the rating because the facilities are nice and the launch service speedy, but the harbor itself is horribly exposed. Others mention concerns with winds/waves from the south, but we somehow managed to roll all night despite northeasterly winds.

This is the second time we have stayed at Norwalk YC. We returned because we had such a great visit the first time. Even though this is no longer the "high season", they still had plenty of helpful staff. We got water at their dock - super easy. The NYC staff were again very friendly and responsive during the Dockwa reservation process. We extended our stay to 2 nights. The NYC facilities are very nice. Launch service was great - still running to 9 PM. The wind was very strong the second night (gusts to 30 kt) - out of the South and the mooring field was very exposed and rolly, but nothing NYC could do about that. We will definitely come back.

Very easy entrance with wide channel from Greens Ledge light. NYC was very cooperative shifting our arrival date. Happy to have a mooring at outside of field, so we didn'y have to search around. Harbor was quiet and peaceful. Launch service appeared to be very well-managed on a busy holiday weekend -- although we did not go ashore, so we can't comment on shore-side facilities.

We arrived very late, so prior to arrival over the phone we got very good directions hot to find our mooring. Launching service was also very prompt and smooth.

The Club was extremely welcoming and helpful. The Club manager greeted us warmly and briefed us on Club events and invited us to enjoy their 125 anniversary event. The launch service an it’s crew were professional and fun. A very pleasant stay. We will be back!
