Claim this MarinaGoodwin Creek Marina can best be described as a second home on the Merrimack. Visit any weekend between Memorial Day and the end of September and you are likely to find a higher percentage of boats occupied than would be the case downriver at one of Newburyport’s many fisherman’s marinas. Actually, you are likely to find more boats, period. Goodwin Creek’s boat owners love being on the water in their boats, but figure that the body of water where their slips are located is at least as attractive as any other, so why move. Even when they leave their slips, the 20 miles of navigable Merrimack River offers all that most of them desire on the water. Upstream to the west is quiet green-lined New England river. Downstream to the east, the river becomes busier, wider, deeper and downright exciting at the mouth. About five miles downstream, Newburyport offers one of the northeast’s most appealing ports of call. Goodwin Creek Marina also boasts an in ground swimming pool and heads and showers that would be the envy of many a fancier pricier marina.
