Great little yacht club with convenient access to the city via one easy bus and a ride on the 6 train.
Stay was great, launch operations were very friendly and helpful. Easy access to restaurants and provisions. Thank you
Nice facility for quick overnighter, lots of restaurants
Great hospitality. Nice club. Excellent launch service. Island has a few good restaurants, great market, some eclectic shops, nautical museum, and great diner for breakfast/lunch. This is our second visit. We’ll happily come again.
Great place to stay. All you need is there. Staff is very friendly and helpful, Club memers as well. Facilities are clean. Shopping and dining in walking distance.
Great stay - very welcoming staff! Thank you, Brian and Evan Frey
Amazing! The location is perfect with plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Beautiful view of the city from the mooring . Launch service and a space for your dinghy at the dock was great. I also appreciate how quickly they confirm your reservation. I had to add a day unexpectedly and an additional day was confirmed right away on the app. We will definitely be coming back
Friendly people ,great food wed, fri, sat,&sun but many walkable restaurants and the history of boat building displayed along the way.Great stop transiting the east river.Sammies south on the right is worth the stop for fish ,its a Bronx experience.
Nice club with friendly staff. Very convenient for East River passage. Dockmaster Joe very helpful. Dined on the front porch last night and was good.
This is always a great stopping place to stay the night before traversing the East River. The Launch Service is top notch and there's plenty of amenities within close walking distance. We stop here a few times every year. I only wish their Club Bar was opened more often.
Super friendly staff and launch captains. Parking for our rental car. Trash dumpsters ashore, water fill on the docks. Nice quiet town with tons of sailing history. Another spot we will be back to!
Great employees, easy mooring field to navigate. Learned how strong the mooring balls were, as sustained winds of 25-35 knots whipped through for about 18 hours, turning the field into a rollicking wave pool.
Awesome launch drivers so helpful Yard and deck beautiful. Wished the club was open . Maybe next time we’ll be back !
Great location. Quality mooring. Nice launch staff. We will definitely be back! SV Bacon in the Sun
Great staff….and an amazing view of the Throgs Neck!!
Picked up a mooring for the night. The mooring line was in excellent condition. Launch service from 8am -8pm, and we ad a nice meal at the Yacht Club.
Friendly, competent Yacht Club reasonable mooring fees that close to NYC. Nice restaurant on weekends, walking distance to great restaurants on island. Transportation to NYC by bus then subway.
Convenient guest moorings, attentive and friendly staff. Walkable to many restaurants and bars.
Love this place! Great launch service and club house facilities. Walk down the street and eat at The Black Whale.
Prompt launch service. Close to restaurants, laundry and groceries.
It's been a great stay. Good protection from bad nor'easter. Nice town and all the launch drivers are terrific. We've extended our stay several times.
Everyone has been friendly and helpful at the club. It is a really nice clubhouse with a bar and restaurant. Highly recommend. Launch monitors channel 72.
Great stopping place when running the east river
Lovely place. Friendly helpful staff. Beautiful views at night
Beautiful Sunday evening on mooring, free beer, and fish & chips on the porch. Great stop
The facility location and the people are all wonderful.
I wish I had known that their moorings are totally unprotected. I spent a horrible sleepless night being violently tossed around. I would have gone elsewhere if I had known. I also would have left but I got there as it got dark and it was too late. I would avoid this place if the wind is coming from any southerly or westerly direction.
Easy access. Convenient to stores and restaurants.
Great place, wonderful people, great yacht club & launch service. A must visit place.
It was a good place to stop to prepared for New York. It was a bumpy night but otherwise great! Spelling of my last name is Crowson. I see there is a place to enter for coupons...how do I get those?
Excellent as always, a beautiful slice of yachting history. City Island Yacht Club and City Island are both very accommodating and a pleasure to visit going East or West through NYC.
Had last minute change, nice fast response to our request. Easy in, easy out.
Friendly, helpful….perfect surroundings. Easy access to Manhattan. Next time again!
Great facility Staff was very accommodating, friendly and professional. Very reasonable transient mooring rate. Exceptional clean head and shower facilities.
Nice club. We were not able to go to the bar as the smoke from Canada pretty much shut down activitiesvthe nights we were there. The launch service was great with Capt Peter. The bathrooms and showers were updated. A shirt walk to City Islands assorted restaurants. A good grocery was about 3/4 Mike up the road.
We love this destination. Quiet harbor, NYC skyline views, clean showers and friendly staff.
Great place! Beautiful yacht club and very friendly! Love the launch showers and bar!
Great Commodore and staff. Location, condition of mooring, access to great food just minutes away. Highly recommend!
Great little club within walking distance of many restaurants, groceries and fuel. And excellent launch service.
We had a wonderful stay. Very friendly staff!
Greeted by Peter. Launch service was excellent. Johnny's Reef restaurant never fails!
Wonderful staff, awesome showers, supplies within walking distance what more could you ask for! Top notch in my book
Nobody was there. No responses to email, phone calls or hailing on 72. I think it would be fair to refund the fee I paid.
Very accommodating, great launch service. Helpful members
All were the nicest people I have ever met at any marina. We went off season and we’re the only boat that needed launch service. Brett the commodore took us to an urgent clinic after we insisted we could take an Uber. Why anchor out when you can have launch service, go ashore and meet great people for $40? Great place to hold over for the ride though NY
Great stop for an overnight. Easy access tenders run till 10 pm nice little town short walk to get provisions or go out to dinner
All were very helpful during our stay. We will be back. Thank you!
I loved this place. I only stayed one night, but would have liked to stay longer. Both launch drivers were great. One even let me tag along on a trip to the chandlery. I will be back. Oh yeah, west winds are difficult here.
The service at the club was really good. The amenities are minimal but Dave, the harbor master is very helpful. He guided us in and helped us with any needs. The problem is not the Yacht Club but rather the location. Be warned. It can be very noisy at night (Dave warned us and he was right). Motor boats buzz around the harbor blasting music, even on weeknights. I can't imagine what it would be like on the weekend. Once the music stopped (around 11), we enjoyed the night.
Our cruising club thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were headed to New York City, via Liberty Landing Marina in Jersey City. We had 13 boats in our fleet at that time. Some of us took a tour of the City Island Maritime Museum which was very special. We ate at the "Johney's Reef which was a short walk from CIYC. We happened to meet the Commodore who was very informative and recommended how to traverse the East River and Hell's Gate that were very helpful. We would love to visit this yacht club again!
Great people with super launch hours. Easy access to the city.
Lovely place to stay. Great launch driver and the Commodore was very welcoming and shared some good information with us. Nice bar, clean bathrooms and showers.
Great location to stop before entering or after exiting the East River. We enjoyed the launch service and welcoming staff. The clubhouse is cute, but a little outdated. The men's bathroom is in the basement, which has a very low ceiling. The women's bathroom requires walking up 2 flights of stairs. We loved walking around City Island and had an incredible dinner at the Black Whale. If we ever come back through NYC, we will definitely moor here again.
It was GREAT! We were on a mooring, and enjoyed the friendly treatment of Dave, the launch captain. He went out of his way to help us. Welcomed us to The Bronx! And made great recommendations for dinner! We had lovely views at night too!
Great location, easy access to New York City and the airports. Cute little town with lots of options for dining and sightseeing. Marina staff and members were great. Only downside was no access to Wi-Fi in the Mooring field.
Wet friendly, low key club with moorings and free tender service. Perfect location to stage a trip to NYC. City island was surprisingly quaint and pleasant.
Left our 45’ Jeanneau and tender for 10 days on a mooring ball while we travelled back home in prep for our next leg. Staff suggested tender be stored at small dock which is under security cameras. No problems at all. Uber access was quick and easy to airport and rental cars. Dock staff and everyone we met were friendly and professional. Highly recommended if you need a stop before timing currents at Hells gate or just sailing the area.
I keep my boat at a CIYC every summer. The club is fantastic, and the people are great. It is perfect mooring spot -- protected and convenient. It's the gateway to the Long Island Sound, and in the other direction a good place to wait for the right current through Hell Gate. Highly recommended!!!!
The Bathrooms/showers are old but kept clean. The staff is excellent as well as the resteraunt. City Island is a very quaint, friendly town with lots of ship building history.
Great launch service, delicious dinner on the patio overlooking the Harbor at the club. Nice bar.
This truly is a hidden jewel. Excellent launch service and very accommodating to some special request we had during our stay. Great view of Manhattan skyline in the distance and beautiful sunsets. Looking forward to our return in the fall!
Great location and great people! Enjoyed it very much. Nice walk in town with laundry, great coffee shop and fun restaurants. Who new that The Bronx had great marinas!
Mooring field directly in front of the Yacht Club. Launch service available. Club is very quaint with excellent food.
They sent a launch out to help us to find our mooring. The water taxi was quick and friendly. Dinner in the restaurant was very good. We asked for advice on transitting Hell Gate and they found a cruising group we could join for the transit. Outstanding!
Very warm and inviting. Members treated us like we were home. Highly Recommend this place.
A bit bumpy with a strong SW breeze but nice people. Would stay again. Great location if you are planning a run through Hell Gate the next day.
Not good, unprotected and a few mooring balls did not have lines to hook too!
good value, funky facility, great staff. By the way, they have a restaurant! Unfortunately we didn't find out until after standing in an extremely long line with extremely mediocre food, but we will try the YC next time. Yes, there will be a next time.
Easy in and out if you’re waiting to go through HellsGate
Gave us a mooring in close, away from “the edge”. Convenient to main road in City Island, bus stops, shops and restaurants.
Launch 7x24, plenty of restaurants, Arties, Sammy's etc....All within walking distance.
