Transient dockage is on the larger of the two floating docks. The first 6 slip nearest the parking lot are for transients (3 on each side of the dock). The transient slips are 50'x20'.
I had a very positive experience with my stay at Matagorda Harbor. The Harbor Master was friendly, informative and set the tone. When we arrived, our docking was easy to find, and several people on near boats helped us get tied up. The food at the restaurant just outside the gate was good. In the morning, we fueled up on our way out. There was a strong wind, and gentleman working the Fuel Dock was very helpful. In all, it was a very pleasant experience.
Knowledgeable and polite Port Masters. Very helpful when needed!
Stopped here twice in the last 2 months. The cafe has the best food. The ships store is well stocked. Don't pass this place by, hard to find better in the area.
A really fine marina, good transient slips. We prefer the end T-Head, as Valkyrie is a 60-foot sloop. Try to avoid the bulkhead for mooring, as the wind makes it hard to get off the wall! If you havw side-thrusters, no worry. A fine little restaurant at the marina, a fair fuel dock and store. Not much there but ice and snacks. A perfect stop between Freeport and Port O'Connor. There is a great little liquor store just over the levy to the left. And a good grocery store all the way in town, about six long blocks, and one million mosquitoes!! Spoonbills is a fine restaurant, when it is open, only on Fri & Sat.
