Saint Marys is a well-worth-it stop! The town is a charming quintessential small-medium southern town. There is a nice main street walk with several good restaurants, a excellent coffee shop, museums, a history park / walk, and music.
If you like Blues and are there on Sunday afternoon you'll likely be able to see Gitlo Lee. The low key municipal Marina has new floating concrete docks and reasonable prices. There is a nice park-like green space at the end of the dock. The marina manager, Colin, is stellar. Friendly, helpful, and will likely treat you with a pleasant surprise or two.
